Prepare for SWTOR Player Housing

Are you ready? We’ve been given hints and clues about what we can expect, and where decorations could possibly come from. But what can you do to get ready for the big date?

Stockpile Credits & Cartel Coins

We know for sure that “a variety of unique decorations can be purchased with Cartel Coins on the Cartel Market” – and we also know some of those will be sold on the GTN. Start saving your credits and stipends for Player housing so you’re not broke when they come out. Easy credits can be earned by doing dailies like Sec X or Oricon.

Gain Reputation

We know for sure that “many decorations will be available on existing vendors throughout the game as new rewards for Reputations” – it’s pretty safe to assume some of these will require max Reputation. Start working on your Reputation now so that you don’t have to deal with the weekly Reputation cap when housing is introduced.  One way or another the later tiers have some pretty nice rewards, and the dailies give good credits. Reputation is shared across all your characters, so you can dailies on multiple characters and on either faction. Even if you reach your weekly cap, save the items you’re given as they can be used to gain Reputation next week.

Kill Operation & Flashpoint Bosses for Achievements

We know for sure that decorations will be obtainable from operations and flashpoints – past achievements will gain you some posts for your walls of the bosses you have defeated.

Level Crafting Skills

Crafters will be able to crate stronghold decoration components – and having a max-level crafter of every skill is a handy tool in your belt one way or another.

Acquire Materials

We know that when it comes to decorations, “many will require components created by crafters”. These materials come from old operations as well as less-used crafting professions.

PvP

We know decorations will be a reward for PvPing – but we don’t know what the criteria to get them will be. Until we know, simply PvP to boost your valor, gain commendations and fill out PvP achievements.
