The Section X Dailies are a set of missions on a seperate half of Belsavis you can repeat to earn Reputation and Rewards. Section X is the second daily area after The Black Hole, and the first to come with a reputation – it’s a daily area that continues the plot of Belsavis, and adds more to the Dread Masters storyline. Section X access is a bit strange though – unlike the other expansion planets, you must be currently subscribed OR buy the cartel market unlock to visit the planet – otherwise you can not visit the planet if you are preferred. Free to play and preferred players can also gain access to Section X by buying the access unlock from the cartel market or GTN. Section X adds flavor to the later story, especially the Operations, but if you want to skip it feel free to move on to the first expansion.
Thank you player Zahk for all your help on this guide to make it easier for other players to find the quest objectives!

How to Start
Free-to-Play: This story and area are not available to Free-to-Play players unless they purchase the unlock with Cartel Coins or from another player.
Preferred: This story and area is only available for subscribers, or preferred players who have purchased the unlock from the Cartel Market.
Chronological Start: If you are looking to play the end-game Operations in the game, Belsavis and Section X tie in heavily to the Operations’ shared storyline. If you are trying to also do the Operations in order, you would have done The Eternity Vault, Karagga’s Palace and Explosive Conflict before reaching Section X.
Early on Other Characters: You can run Section X even if you are not caught up on the story, as long as you have it unlocked and are level 50. The planet’s level-down-sync is also 50.
Intro Mission: Republic players will speak to General Conlath <Priority Mission Courier> wearing an orange shirt near the east elevator to the Mission Departures and in the corner being scanned by a medical droid going towards the Galactic Trade Market section of the fleet, and Imperial Players will speak to Captain Gostel <Priority Mission Courier> near the southern elevator to the Cartel Bazaar.
How to Get There: You can head to Section X via either travelling directly in your ship, or by Accepting the Daily Area: Section X weekly mission from the Solo Tab of the activities finder (icon of ‘three little people’ near your minimap).
Section X is a lot like the Black Hole – Once you arrive, most of the Section X quests are available from the two terminals close to where you load in. As far as dailies go, the exception will be an [AREA] quest for both factions that takes place in a separate northwest area of Section X – it will be covered in the missions guides below!
Reputation
Reputation is a way of gaining favor with different groups by completing missions for them. As you level up your reputation rank, more rewards for that reputation track become available. Reputation is shared by all your characters on your server, so it’s legacy-wide.
By using multiple characters, you won’t be limited to how many Section X missions you run, but you will still be gated by how many reputation points you can earn – you can only earn a hard limit of 12,000 reputation points per week.
There is one Oricon track simply renamed for each faction – the Republic 5th Assault Battalion for Republic and Imperial Guard on Belsavis for Imperials. Progress gained on Republic Side won’t need to be redone on Imperial side.
Ranks
As you run Section X Dailies, you’ll rank up your reputation, and each rank unlocks new rewards from the Imperial or Republic Reputation vendor in their respective hubs.
- None – 0 Reputation
- Outsider – 0/2,500 Reputation (2,500 total points needed)
- Newcomer – 0/5,000 Reputation (7,500 total points needed)
- Friend – 0/7,500 Reputation (15,000 total points needed)
- Hero – 0/10,000 Reputation (25,000 total points needed)
- Champion – 0/15,000 Reputation (40,000 total points needed)
- Legend – 0/30,000 Reputation (70,000 total points needed)
Tokens
Each type of token from Section X gives you a different amount of Reputation, and it also changes based on what various boosts you have and whether you are subscribed or not:
- Prisoner ID Tags: 270 Reputation (as a subscriber)
- Prison Cell Conduit: 630 Reputation (as a subscriber)
- Dread Guard Holocron: 1440 Reputation (as a subscriber)
Other Rewards
Depending on your level when completing a Section X mission, there are also some additional rewards tied to some; exactly what per mission is on a table down below!
- Conquest Commendations (at max-level, [DAILY] missions give 3 each, [WEEKLY] gives 50): Conquest Commendations will be awarded for most Planetary Repeatables. It’s used to upgrade virtually every track of gear upgrade, in varying amounts.
- Tech Fragments (at max-level, [DAILY] missions give 30 each): Tech Fragments are an endgame currency used to buy Legendary Implants, Tacticals, materials for the best Augments in the game, and some older/cosmetic armors.
- Conquest Gear Piece: at max-level, the Weekly mission will award a Conquest Gear Box in addition. These have a minimum item level of 324, and are green quality.
Earning Reputation
- The Weekly “Daily Area” mission asks you to complete all 4 dailies, the area mission, and the Heroic and gives you the purple reputation token.
- The Heroic 4 will give the Blue Token.
- Each individual daily gives you a green reputation item.
Missions
[WEEKLY] Daily Area: Section X
Complete all of these 6 quests on Section X:
- [HEROIC 4] Aurora Cannon (Imperial) / Long Shots (Republic)
- [AREA] Lost Reconnaissance (Imperial) / Key to Decryption (Republic)
- [DAILY] Targeted Misfire (Imperial) / The Dread Guard (Republic)
- [DAILY] Data Raid (Imperial) / Priority Containment (Republic)
- [DAILY] March of the Dread Guard (Imperial) / Bio-Reform (Republic)
- [DAILY] Hyperbiology (Imperial) / Imminent Threat (Republic)
REPUBLIC
[HEROIC 4] Long Shots
Enter the Aurora Cannon // Detonate an EMP Explosive in the Core
Tips:
- This mission takes place in the southeast area of the Section X world map, inside a large tunnel in the southern cliff.
- If you have the recommended 4 players for this mission, there’s nothing noteworthy. Simply fight your way through a bunch of gold and silver-level enemies, stick to a wall if you’d like to skip some fighting and stand at the “docks” at the end room to click and interact with the aurora cannon’s reactor. The shortcut exit will be a teleporter room west of the reactor room.
- However, this mission is quite easily done solo, too. The easiest way of course is to be a stealth class. No enemies in the tunnel have stealth-detection, the only part that can trip you up is the blue laser in the image above – simply go around it or it will unstealth you and aggro a new pack of enemies. (If you trigger it, simply use your in-combat stealth and stay out of their way while they kill your companion. You’ll leave combat again.) No fighting is required, so head down to the reactor docks and blow it up.
- Without stealth, this mission can still be done alone, but it’s recommended you bring a tank specialization or something very mobile. Simply set a companion to tank and start running from the beginning, turn your corners sharply to break line of sight, and throw the grenade at the reactor core before the horde of enemies can catch up and stop you. This will require usage of some defensive abilities and all of your mobility moves/charges/leaps. If you’re open to a bit more micromanagement, you can try setting your companion to heal and periodically toggling passive mode as you run, keeping them from getting stuck on enemies and dropping you a few heals.
- Anecdotally, this run can be done without dying on all specializations. Since you’ll be in combat, after destroying the core simply leap into the hazard below the docks and respawn at the start. You’ll get to hand in the mission right away.
[AREA] Key to Decryption
Destroy Haywire Droids 0/15
Collect Cores from Haywire Security Droids 0/5 // Locate and Recover the Decryption Key
Be aware that as an area mission you will not find this on the terminals in your base. Head to the road in the very northwest corner, the new area it takes you to will give the mission.
Tips:
- Upon initial entry into the area, most of the surrounding enemies will be acklay and tukata. These are not necessary for the mission so drive between the packs and head to the back of the area around the ship wreckage.
- This back half will be more populated with the droids you need – note that this mission is a 2+ heroic so if you aren’t feeling confident solo, you may want to take note of the champion-level haywire devastators- there’s one that sits still near the HK phase entrance and one that patrols in a semicircle, avoid them. There’s plenty of packs of golds and silvers that are much easier to fight.
- The cores drop a little rarely and anecdotally we usually end up killing 25 or so droids before they all drop. Once they do however, you can go back across the packs of organic creatures to the northwest side of the area and interact with the half-buried console in the snow. This will summon the last enemy to fight and loot to complete the mission. The droid is champion-level, but dies a little faster than the champions around the area. Keep a companion with you and interrupt rapid fire to save yourself the most HP.
[DAILY] The Dread Guard
Collect Data from the Interrogation & Medical Wing // Collect Data from the Prison Workshop // Use the Lockdown Override Switches
Defeat the Central Network Guardian
- This mission takes place in an ancient prison block in the center of Section X, just east of Data Raid/Priority Containment.
- After going in and taking the elevator down, your first two objectives will be on small terminals at dead ends of the western hallways.
- A nice bonus to this mission is that it is NOT phased, so sometimes even without stealth you won’t have to do much fighting if other players are clearing it.
- As stealth, the droids guarding the terminal patrols like in the image above. With patience or lucky timing you won’t need to fight much, making the daily much faster.
- After the first two wings are handled you’ll need to head down the southern path and through an elevator to the upper levels. The only deviation is a locked group phase that you’ll return to, so head down to the dead end workshop with a ton of lightning everywhere and fight your way to the back panel.
- You can jump onto these large lighting-filled stations in the workshop to cut across the center and avoid a bunch of the combat as well.
- This will unlock the group phase earlier in the hallway, so backtrack and head in. Two groups of three enemies guard the four interactable terminals you’ll need to reach but they’re luckily pushovers. Around the machinery in the center of the room, the final interactable terminal hides in the back. You’ll summon a gold level guardian in the center of the room who can stun you if it is not interrupted. Head back to the terminal once more to complete.
- There is a bonus mission with multiple stages – first loot 10 datapads from enemies, then destroy 10 of the astromechs in the tunnels, which culminates breaking a few statis stored sith lords and interacting with a terminal. In this current iteration of SWTOR the time investment for fighting all the extra enemies in front of these obejctives does not seem equal to the reward, however.
[DAILY] Priority Containment
Infiltrate the Rakatan Prison // Secure Stasis Chambers: 0/4 // Repair the Security Cameras: 0/6 // Reactivate the Sentry Turrets: 0/4
Access the Maximum Security Wing // Defeat the Dread Guard Captain
Tips:
- This mission takes place in the very center of the Section X world map, inside the underground phased tunnel.
- Included is a bonus mission to kill 20 Dread Guard, and outside of stealthing it’s impossible to miss.
- From left to right in the image above, we’ll talk about the three objects you need to activate.
- First are Sentry Turret controls. There’s one at the very start as you fight the first pack of enemies, two more at the ends of the east and west hallways, and the last is at the start of the southern half of the phase.
- Second are the Stasis Chambers. These are located in the shattered prison rooms on the east and west hallways of the north half of the phase. The rooms with two champion-level kintans can be skipped – there’s no chamber in there. You’ll only have to fight your way into the prisons with a couple of dread guards in each – two in the east, two in the west.
- Third are Security Cameras. There’s one in each east/west hallway between prisons, with a third in the hallway between the two. Two more are in the large open chamber south of these halls, and the final one is way in the south, on the other side of the wall holding the last Sentry Turret panel.
- After all objects are activated you will be tasked with entering max security – defeat the group of four near the last security camera and activate the controls near the door. Directly ahead is the last interactable object, guarded by a gold-level mob that also needs to be defeated. He does nothing special aside from a force crush that is interruptable.
[DAILY] Bio-Reform
Destroy Bioforming Nodes: 0/5
Tips:
- This mission takes place in the northwestern area of the main Section X map in the image above.
- On either side of the road in this section you will find the Bioforming Nodes – long mechanical towers with a glowing blue interactable base. They are usually protected by groups of K’lor’slugs and Bogwings.
- They respawn fairly quick and there’s more than 5 so even with competition this mission should be quite fast.
- Do take note that the world boss of Section X, Dreadtooth, sometimes patrols through this section of the map, so when loitering on the road keep an eye out for a massive Drouk. He won’t patrol over to you if no player has direct line of sight of him, so if you’re alone on section X and don’t see him yet, you likely won’t have to worry.
- A bonus mission, The Bioformed, requires simply killing 15 creatures around the bioforming nodes. Each nodes has 3 to 4 creatures surrounding it, so unless you’re very clever with stealth or the surrounding area has been recently cleared, this should happen automatically before you finish destroying 5 nodes.
[DAILY] Imminent Threat
Defeat the Escaped Prisoners: 0/8
Destroy Weapons Caches: 0/4
Tips:
- This mission takes place across the southern stretch of ruined prisons at the bottom of the main Section X map.
- The area between all the smashed fences contains plenty of gammorean and trandoshan enemies that count toward escaped prisoners.
- 3 or 4 are usually guarding the weapons caches, so you’ll absolutely finish defeating enemies on the way to four caches.
- Destroying a cache is instant upon interaction, so if you’re not in the mood to continue combat after getting your initial 8, you can run by and destroy the rest and try escaping. Note that these gammoreans and trandoshans do a little bit more damage than the creatures in the north but players with a healing companion should still be fine.
- There is no bonus mission for this one.
IMPERIAL
[HEROIC 4] Aurora Cannon
[AREA 2+] Lost Reconnaissance
Recover Imperial Flight Recorders 0/5 // Locate the Master Black Box and Recover the Contents
Defeat Wild Beasts 0/18
Be aware that as an area mission you will not find this on the terminals in your base. Head to the road in the very northwest corner, the new area it takes you to will give the mission.
Tips:
- Upon initial entry into the area, most of the surrounding enemies will be acklay and tukata. This is the area you mostly want to fight in, as the immediate area around the ship wreckage is droids and have nothing to do with the mission.
- This back half will havea few Vrblthers like in the image above – note that this mission is a 2+ heroic so if you aren’t feeling confident solo, you may want to stick to tukata, bogwings and vrblthers instead of hunting acklay.
- The recorders drop a little rarely and anecdotally, we usually end up killing more animals than is needed before they all drop. Once they do however, you can go back past the droids and to the very south end of the area and interact with the large nest on the cliff. This will summon the last enemy to fight and loot to complete the mission.
[DAILY] Targeted Misfire
Recover the Targeting Beacon 0/1
Recover the Air Strike Codes 0/3 // Disable the Rakata Devices // Destroy the Rakata War Droid
Tips:
- This mission takes place in an open, unphased tunnel along the eastern edge of Section X.
- Upon entry your objectives are for a Targetting Beacon and Air Strike Codes. The Codes drop off of any enemies in the tunnels, you’ll get them quickly in your first few fights. About midway in, we find the first few Jedi protector silver-level enemies will drop the Targetting Beacon.
- Once all are acquired, a phase in the southeast part of the tunnel will go green, allowing you further in. Defeat two groups of republic enemies in your way, and access the terminal on the east side of the room, left of the imprisoned droid in the image above. This will be followed by two more terminals guarded by two more groups each, going clockwise around the electrified robot.
- This clears the lightning from the war droid. Target it, get up into melee range, and use the targetting beacon mission item on it. You can then head down the stairs and activate the roof controls just in front of the droid – this will drop a bomb on it, damaging it a little but making it hostile. Finishing it off isn’t too hard, it’s a standard gold-level enemy with a stun effect.
- There is also multiple bonus stages for this mission, starting with 26 republic forces defeated. This goes pretty naturally for non-stealthers. Then, you’ll be tasked with trashing 3 research stations. These are the glowing blue terminals along the main hallway and some side rooms before the phase.
[DAILY] Data Raid
Scan and Disable the Energy Tubes 0/4 // Disable the East and West Rakatan Pylon //
Tips:
- This mission takes place in the extreme southeast corner of Section X: the Dread Guard Command Post.
- The first objective has you interacting with these blue cylinders containing Sith. This deactivates the energy tube and lets the sith out – some are already dead but you can also be attacked by the sith inside. They are silver-level and no harder than the stuff you defeat to get to the tubes in the first place. Tubes are plentiful on the eastern cliffside, make sure to check the tents as there’s one in each.
- The second objective is to interact with another, more solid cylinder. These Rakatan Pylons are clearly marked on the map and there’s one on each half of the area. The benefit to starting east and moving to the west pylon is that you can jump off the cliff in the middle onto the tarp, and skip by a few fights.
- This mission also comes with a bonus to defeat 18 Dread Guard. Unless you’re stealthing this should happen naturally.
[DAILY] March of the Dread Guard
Recover the Shackle Remote // Free The Prisoners 0/5
Tips:
- This mission takes place opposite the imperial base, on the southern edge of section X.
- Your first order of business is to defeat “Dread Host” enemies such as scouts or guardians or assassins, and loot a shackle remote. Attacking a group of 4 or 5 should yield one quickly.
- Once acquired, your next task is to find some undamaged and enclosed jail cells like the one in the image above. Make sure it actually has some prisoners in it, as someone could come by and do this before you.
- Get close to the prisoners, target one, and use the mission item. Free five, and you’re done! No extra shackle remotes required.
- There’s a bonus mission for 24 dread host defeated, but considering how fast you can dip in and complete the main objective, doesn’t seem like you’ll be able to do it without going out of your way, most days.
[DAILY] Hyperbiology
Collect Biological Samples from Mutated Beasts 0/10 // Create a Serum at the Science Station // Inject the Hyperbeast with the Serum // Collect Mutated Tissue from the Hyperbeast
Tips:
- This mission takes place directly outside the imperial base, in the rocky outcroppings north of any prison architecture.
- You’re looking for lootable objects nearby groups of wildlife in the area. These are eggs and bone piles near the muckwings and lobels, and refuse piles near klor slugs and kintans to the east. Eggs may need to be interacted with multiple times to get the loot, as kicking them open is required.
- On top of these objects, the enemies guarding them also drop more samples – you’ll typically get way more just from looting the defeated creatures, but setting the interactables as a goal can save you a pull.
- After everything is collected, head back towards the paths to the base and stick to the right-hand wall. A grassy path past the cliff will take you north to a snowed in campsite with the science station you need to use.
- Head east into the phased area and use your new serum on the friendly hyperbeast. It does not stay friendly, so defeat it and loot it. It’s a pretty standard Gold-level enemy that won’t pose a challenge.
HK-51 Companion Quest
The HK-51 Droid companion is one of the most unique companions in Star Wars: The Old Republic, as unlike most companions which are earned through the story, HK-51 can only be earned through a long quest chain where the player rebuilds the droid after searching for scavenged parts that have been hidden across the galaxy, starting on Section X. HK-51 Companion Quest Guide
To start HK-51’s quest, the droid quest giver is really close to where you land from the shuttle on Section X. Republic-side, the droid is named B6-31, and Imperial-side, the droid is named G0-A1.
Dreadtooth World Boss
The Section X world boss Dreadtooth is recommended for characters level 50 and up as part of a group. Dreadtooth walks in an oval path near the center of the map around some broken walls. Dreadtooth is ONLY accessible to current Subscribers or those who have purchased the Cartel Market unlock.
Dreadtooth is a very unique world boss as he’s the only world boss that you can use items on to make him stronger, and he also drops an item that can be used to fight a secret boss hidden in an Operation. When he’s in his normal mode, known as ‘1 stack’, he’s quite easy to fight with a small group. Dreadtooth World Boss Guide
Even in his weakest form, Dreadtooth drops at least one unique cosmetic items – the Dread Guard’s Corrupted Mask. There is no other way in the game to get this interesting mask with its sharp teeth and gold lines! This mask does not dye.
