Top 10 Sith Inquisitor Armors in SWTOR – Updated!

The history of the Sith Empire is fraught with scheming politics and dark secrets, but the lifeblood of the Sith Inquisitor is fashion, which hides around every corner in the Empire’s dark corridors, and survival depends on an individual’s natural ability to dress well… ok, maybe not, but it is important to look good while playing your Sith Inquisitor!

Outfit by Zeloth.

In this list I’ll be going through my top ten favorite Sith Inquisitor armors in Star Wars: The Old Republic, and how to get them. Don’t forget that you can use the Outfitter to change the appearance of your armor without losing the stats of your equipment, so you can wear these intimidating inquisitor sets without sacrificing any good armor you’ve picked up along the way. These armors are also not locked to Sith characters – you can wear them on any type of character.

#10 The Emperor’s Armor Set

While The Emperor isn’t exactly an Inquisitor, it’s hard to deny that he’s got some incredible  style. While he’s taken on many looks throughout the years, his original look is one of my favorite dark-side-of-the-force outfits – and perfectly shows off what a Sith Inquisitor should be – an entity beyond comprehension, who has delved into the deepest tombs of Sith Alchemy and Sorcery, often even sacrificing parts of their humanity in search of power.

If you are unlucky enough to encounter him as you play the base game, this version of his armor is an all-black set of robes with a really creepy brain-like helmet.

Vicious Adept Armor Set

Vicious Adept Armor Set

There’s currently only ONE armor set in the entire game that will get you close to the Emperor’s look – and its the Vicious Adept Armor Set . This set can be gotten from the Tech Fragments cosmetic gear vendor on the Republic or Imperial Fleet – but each piece costs 3,000 Tech Fragments + 1,000,000 Credits each, so save up for just the chestpiece and you should be able to substitute for the rest.

Fitted Hapani Zeyd-Cloth Armor Set

Fitted Hapani Zeyd-Cloth Armor Set

If you can’t get that, you can try picking up the Fitted Hapani Zeyd-Cloth Armor Set or Fitted Alderaanian Hypercloth Armor Set from the GTN and slapping a black dye in it. If you can’t find it cheap on the GTN, you can pick up the Corellian Inquisitor Armor Set from Corellia for 200,000 Credits per piece, just skip the strange expensive helmet. Sadly – even with a dye, both of these won’t lose their aqua glow on the shoulder pads.

The Black and Light Gray Dye Module instead of a full black-black dye will also get you pretty close – a black-black dye was 70 million credits versus only 125 credits for a black-gray dye when I looked them up when making this guide.

Ghostly Magus Armor Set

Ghostly Magus Armor Set

The helmet is the coolest piece of the set, which you can strangely get from a set called the Ghostly Magus Armor Set …which, for the longest time, I thought was called the Ghostly Malgus set. This Cartel set which you might be able to find on either the GTN or the Cartel Market also comes with a really interesting corrupted-looking chestpiece and robes, but isn’t the set the Emperor is wearing.

However, there is a really cool version of that same creepy armor but with the Emperor’s shoulder pads if you wanted to combine them!

Nanite Threaded Force Expert’s Armor Set

Nanite Threaded Force Expert's Armor Set

The Nanite Threaded Force Expert’s Armor Set is a crafted armor set that Synthweavers can craft at synthweaving level 440 in Star Wars: The Old Republic, but the schematic can only be found through reverse engineering another crafted armor set. This set is wearable only by Imperial characters, who are level 51 or higher on any Imperial class. Check the GTN or ask a crafter to help you with it! If that’s too hard to get, the Fitted Artifact Pravaat (Sith Inquisitor) Armor Set is not restricted by faction – but may be hard to find or expensive on the GTN.

#9 Sovereign Executioner Armor Set

Sovereign Executioner Armor Set

The Sovereign Executioner Armor Set is a Cartel set that was clearly designed with the Inquisitor in mind – when you enter combat, the ‘wings’ on the back extend and arcs of lightning flow through them.

It also has two really nice sashes in the front, a unique cape shape in the back, and some nice details on the shoulderpads you can see up close during cutscenes – and it also plays nicely with mix-n-match outfits!

#8 Enshrouding Force Armor Set

Enshrouding Force (Imperial) Armor Set

Back on the topic of armor that’s specifically designed for Inquisitors, a while ago I went exploring to find some of the most obscure armor in the game, and found some really interesting stuff of Inquisitors! The Enshrouding Force (Imperial) Armor Set is actually a version of the original Darth Revan’s armor set in the game… it seems the Inquisitors got all the fashion sense when it came to the dark side power houses! This specific set can be found on the GTN if you are lucky – and don’t forget you can hide the hood with any headband that is hood-hiding!

Armor of Darth Revan Armor Set

Armor of Darth Revan Armor Set

The Armor of Darth Revan Armor Set is what this set is based on.

Crystalline Force-Lord MK-3 (Imperial) (BoE) Armor Set

Crystalline Force-Lord MK-3 (Imperial) (BoE) Armor Set

The Crystalline Force-Lord MK-3 (Imperial) (BoE) Armor Set is even more similar to the original Revan set, with the big shoulder pads – and it has a really neat pattern down the center, and the looped belt on the skirt. This specific one is a really cool black and dark blue color, and you can sometimes find it on the GTN. You can hide the hood with any headband that is hood-hiding!

Fitted Hapani Chancery Armor Set

Fitted Hapani Chancery Armor Set

But if you care mostly about the shape, try looking for the Fitted Hapani Chancery Armor Set or the Fitted Alderaanian Consulate from the GTN.

On a female character, these have a cropped sleeveless shirt, and for a male character there’s a lot more fabric.

Grand Inquisitor Armor Set

Grand Inquisitor Armor Set

If you like the shape and want something really inexpensive, the Grand Inquisitor Armor Set costs only 2,500 credits per piece form the Adaptive vendor! It also has a really cool skirt patter that dyes really well, almost like a splattered paint or poison spiderweb effect.

#7 Visas Marr’s Armor Set

Visas Marr's Armor Set

The Visas Marr’s Armor Set is a fan-favorite for the Inquisitor, due to its shiny sleek looks and really nice patterns. This set also dyes quite nicely, especially if you pop a purple dye in.

The Visas Marr helmet also has a unique property where it won’t hide a hood – so you can wear other hooded armors over it. This makes it great for a Miraluka character or any character who covers their eyes. This is a Cartel Market set, so watch for its price on the GTN or Cartel Market.

#6 Hallowed Gothic Armor Set

Hallowed Gothic Armor Set

The Hallowed Gothic Armor Set is an impressive set because it’s one of the ones you can only earn – not buy. This set requires Champion rank with Oricon Reputation.

#5 Callous Conqueror Armor Set

Callous Conqueror Armor Set

The Callous Conqueror Armor Set is an amazing set, and I even got to interview its designer! It has a bunch of really neat features including glowing orange eyes embedded in the blinking metal mask, talonned fingers, and ornate engravings on the mask and chest.

#4 Ceremonial Mystic’s Armor Set

Ceremonial Mystic's Armor Set

If you’re looking for some really original old-school Inquisitor looks, the Ceremonial Mystic’s Armor Set is one of my nostalgic favorites.

Battlemaster Stalker Armor Set

Battlemaster Stalker Armor Set

At the launch of the game, Battlemaster gear was considered top-tier end-game player-versus-player gear, and even to this day this version of the armor remains exclusive to player who have reached PvP Valor Rank 60 on the Imperial side – no small feat for the average player! While I don’t have this armor set myself, it’s by far my favorite version, and has so many creepy details – it really plays with the idea that the Sith Inquisitor may go too far in the pursuit of knowledge.   Battlemaster Stalker Armor Set

Amended Mystic’s Armor Set

Amended Mystic's Armor Set

If you’re like me and don’t have Valor Rank 60, there are a few different Cartel versions. There’s the purple Ceremonial Mystics and the gray-and-teal Amended Mystic’s Armor Set.

Chaotic Force-Master’s Armor Set

Chaotic Force-Master's Armor Set

There’s also the creepy black and pink Chaotic Force-Master’s Armor Set with the holographic runes on the mask. These three are all Cartel armors, so check the GTN or Cartel Market for them.

Battlemaster Force-Master Armor Set

Battlemaster Force-Master Armor Set

If you like the organic creepiness of the Chaotic set, it’s based off of the  Battlemaster Force-Master Armor Set , which also requires Valor Rank 60. It’s also the armor set worn by the Dread Masters!

Interestingly enough, the Dread Masters originally had a totally different set of masks – and two of them were wearing masks from the Mystic’s sets.

#3 Karness Muur’s Armor Set

Karness Muur's Armor Set

The Old Republic era has a lot of cool inspiration it can pull from – and the developers have made a bunch of cool outfits inspired by existing Star Wars lore – and the Inquisitor really got spoiled when it came to cool ancient Sith armor. The Karness Muur’s Armor Set is one of my favorites for formal wear, and really emphasizes the Sith’s arcane power  – they fight with the dark side of the Force, and don’t need a lot of armor to protect themselves. The top also dyes really well.

Many of these sets come from the various Star Wars comics, including the Knights of the Old Republic comics, or the Tales of the Jedi comics. Karness Murr was a fallen Dark Jedi, and one of the original sith.

XoXaan’s Armor Set

XoXaan's Armor Set

The XoXaan’s Armor Set is from the same era – and due to its unique wrapped cloth shape, many players like to dye it black, red or purple for their Sith. XoXaan was another fallen Jedi during that time, so the outfit it right on theme for the Inquisitor.

Apart from the gloves, the whole set dyes amazingly – if you want an all-black set for your inquisitor, you don’t even need to buy an expensive black-black dye – just buy the cheapest dye of any kind with black in the front, and it will ignore the secondary color for this set.

Freedon Nadd’s Armor Set

Freedon Nadd's Armor Set

While Freedon Nadd wasn’t in quite the same era, he was still an ‘ancient sith’, and had some really cool armors that I’ve seen many Inquisitors wearing. Freedon Nadd’s Armor Set is a neat set especially because of the metal ‘wings’ it has one the back.

#2 Charged Hypercloth Force Expert’s Armor Set

Charged Hypercloth Force Expert's / Zakuulan Silk Force Expert's Armor Set

The Charged Hypercloth Force Expert’s Set  is one of the creepiest sets in the game – and really ties into the idea of Sith Alchemy for the Inquisitor. The pines and webs on the mask and shoulders really seem like the armor was just pulled from some eldritch pit of creatures and forged into something the Inquisitor could wear. The best part is this set is easy to get – all Synthweavers can craft it at synthweaving level 520. This set is wearable only by Imperial characters, who are level 61 or higher on any Imperial class.

Remnant Resurrected Inquisitor Armor Set

Remnant Resurrected Inquisitor Armor Set

If you enjoy the idea of being a creepy biological Sith, the Remnant Resurrected Inquisitor Armor Set dropped from Heroic boxes is also along the same vein – it has a bone mask and spines on the chest and helmet, as well as sigils and runes on the fabric.

Shadow Purger Armor Set

[Artifact] Pristine Battlemind / Seeker / Exemplar (Imperial) Armor Set

If you want a rare creepy mask, the Shadow Purger Armor Set has a great horned mask that makes the Inquisitor look like an outright demon. This set costs 10,000 Tech Fragments and 1 million credits and can only be purchased by and worn by the Shadow / Assassin / Sage / Sorcerer combat style at level 75 +. If you are Imperial-side but don’t have those specific classes, the [Artifact] Pristine Battlemind / Seeker / Exemplar (Imperial) Armor Set is very, very rare but sometimes shows up on the GTN with the same look and color.

Remnant Arkanian Inquisitor Armor Set

Remnant Arkanian Inquisitor Armor Set

There’s also the Remnant Arkanian Inquisitor Armor Set which is the same shape but bright red, and also comes from Heroic boxes.

#1 Furious Infiltrator Armor Set

Furious Infiltrator Armor Set

When PvP Seasons were introduced to the game, some of the previously Ranked-pvp-only rewards started becoming available to the public – including the amazing glowing Furious sets. These sets have fire animated on their armor, and the fire changes color to match your dye. Of these four sets, the Furious Infiltrator Armor Set is my favorite, and with a purple dye can really show off the Inquisitor’s connection to the dark side of the force. This armor isn’t easy to get though – you will have to either earn 20 PvP Tokens during a PvP Season by PvPing over time, or by purchasing PvP Season ranks with credits which gets really expensive really fast.

This set is so cool that the developers even used it as a base for one of the Dark vs Light bosses with a purple dye!

This is an updated version of my original list – and includes all kinds of interesting obscure armors I’ve discovered since then, and some of the newer sets that have been added to the game, but if you want to discover more armors, explore the original top ten!
