SWTOR Uprisings Guide

Uprisings are group content in Star Wars: The Old Republic that are available to level 70+ players. They are similar to Flashpoints in that they are designed for four players, but they are story-light with very little cutscenes, and have some fun surprises when it comes to unique abilities like sand creatures that fight with you or being able to turn into a rakghoul.

There is no solo version available for Uprisings, but because some of them can even be done in under ten minutes, they aren’t too hard to find a group for, and skilled players can even solo the easiest version. If you can’t get a group together, their storylines are fun but not important to the main storyline.

UPDATE: On March 11, 2025 with Update 7.6.1., Uprisings will become available to all players at level 10+ as part of Galactic Seasons 8! They will also get some new unique abilities in the form of experimental weapons.

How to Start Uprisings

In the story, Uprisings take place roughly after the end of the Knights of the Eternal Throne expansion, but because they are not story-focused, you can start them as long as you are the correct level.

You can pick Uprisings up from the glowing blue table in the Combat Training section of the Republic or Imperial Fleet.

There are three terminals around the blue table, one for story, veteran and master mode. You can roll your mouse over them to see which is which.

  • Story Mode (easiest mode, still designed for 4 players, walking up to and using the terminal to enter): Lvl 70+
  • Veteran Mode (medium difficulty, walking up to and using the terminal to enter): Lvl 70+
  • Veteran Mode Groupfinder (medium-low difficulty): Lvl 70-80
  • Master Mode (highest difficulty, walking up to and using the terminal to enter): Lvl 70+
  • Master Mode Groupfinder (highest difficulty): Not available in groupfinder.

If you are running Uprisings, you’ll also want to pick up the [WEEKLY] quest related to the mode you want to run, there’s a different one for Story, Veteran and Master mode.

Once you have picked up an uprising quest, and a weekly quest, you can actually get to the Uprising by clicking the icon of a shuttle in your quest log or right-clicking the shuttle icon in the Mission Items tab of your inventory.

Reset Phase: If you are partway through an Uprising, and you or your team decide to try a different one, your team leader may need to reset the phase before you can go into the next one. The group leader can do this by right-clicking their character portrait, choosing Additional Commands -> Phase -> Reset All Active Flashpoints.

Uprisings

There are ten different Uprisings (each with three modes of difficulty).

Uprising Power-Ups

While running uprisings, keep you eyes open for crates with holo-projectors showing off some collectable power-ups you can use to make things easier. To open a crate, you can right-click it. Any member of your group can right-click the crate to open it, but only the player who then afterwards runs over the item in the crate gets to use it. Don’t worry though, there’s lots throughout the whole Uprising.

Once you’re carrying a power-up, you’ll get a temporary ability to use it, and you can get up to one of each kind. The kinds of power-ups can differ, and some uprisings have an even further gimmick to them to take advantage of, but here are some more universal powerups:

Combat Clarity Stim – For 12 seconds, a key ability has no resource cost or cooldown, and your movement speed is increased by 100%.

To use the Stim after running over it, click the icon of a red injector in your temporary abilities bar, which should be in the center of your screen. Ideally wait to use it until you are ready to actually fight something.

Tempest Rocket Launcher – Fires an unstable prototype projectile that explodes on contact to unleash torrents of lightning in all directions. Enemies caught in the blaze are electrocuted and stunned for 3 seconds while continuing to sustain heavy damage. Additionally, the initial impact deals massive concussive damage, knocking enemies backwards and down to the floor.

To use the Rocket Launcher after running over it, select an enemy then click the icon of a blue electric harpoon in your temporary abilities bar, which should be in the center of your screen. It’s best used on an enemy near many other enemies that are grouped up.

Thermal Devastator – The most powerful and feared explosive in the galaxy, the Thermal Devastator emits an incendiary concussive wave that sets enemies ablaze. While the initial impact sears foes in an all-consuming conflagration, the follow-up wave of force launches them through the air with bone-shattering force.

To use the Grenade after running over it, click the icon of a yellow grenade in your temporary abilities bar, which should be in the center of your screen. Then click on the ground where you want to throw it, ideally on a big batch of enemies. You get 2 uses of the grenade.

Tips

  • Stealth: You can stealth past many things and put many things to sleep as a stealther. Don’t forget right-clicking anything like a crate will pop you out of stealth, and just like a Flashpoint, using your combat stealth out ability will not remove you from combat.
  • Medpacs: If you use one of the medpacs on the floor during the boss fights, they do respawn, but you need to wait a bit. If you use your special grenade launchers, they do not respawn though. The medpacs only exist in Story Mode and Veteran Mode.
