Game Update 8.0: Masters of the Force Revealed

Since we first revealed Game Update 8.0 last year, the team has been hard at work bringing the future of Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ to life. We’ve shared a look at many of the features and updates, but one major detail has remained hidden until now: the name of this next Era.

Prepare for the launch of Masters of the Force, a new Star Wars: The Old Republic Era!

Beginning with the Galaxy in Chaos storyline, this new era introduces a variety of exciting additions, including the world of Ryloth, new overworld Difficulty Modes, challenging Ventures, a new 3 Boss Operation, an increased level cap, new abilities, gearing updates, quality-of-life improvements, and more.

A Galaxy in Chaos

Darth Malgus’s legacy has been broadcast to every Force sensitive being across the galaxy, sowing chaos and unrest in its wake. Will this message inspire hope, fear, or vengeance? For good or ill, the Galaxy is forever changed. We will explore the “Galaxy in Chaos” storyline and the consequences of Malgus’s actions and the rising unrest spreading across the Republic and the Sith Empire later this year.

Ryloth, the Twi’lek Homeworld

In Game Update 8.0, players will be able to explore the harsh Outer Rim homeworld of the Twi’leks – Ryloth! This unforgiving planet is marked by brutal terrain, dangerous factions, and a proud people fighting to endure. Confront the Hutt Cartel, uncover new threats, and take part in a wide range of Dynamic Encounters across Ryloth’s hostile landscape.

Difficulty Modes

Choose your challenge and customize your SWTOR experience like never before with Story, Veteran, and Master Difficulty Modes available throughout the overworld. Decide whether you want a cinematic story-driven journey, a more demanding combat experience, or the ultimate challenge. Increase the difficulty for greater intensity, take it easy as you explore, and group up with friends regardless of their selected difficulty.

Ventures: Classic & Expert

Create Classic or Expert Venture characters and experience Star Wars: The Old Republic in a bold new way. Designed to evoke the feel of the classic SWTOR experience, Ventures invites players to embark on a familiar but challenging journey with new goals, meaningful progression, and unique rewards. Test your mastery, prove your dedication, and earn recognition for your accomplishments across the galaxy.

Children of Nul Operation

A New 3 Boss Operation awaits. Darth Nul, the ancient Master and Dark Lord once eliminated by the Emperor, may be gone, but her influence still lingers. Gather a group of 8 players and return to the mysteries surrounding the Enigma as you explore abandoned sections of the ship and confront the dangerous experiments left in Nul’s wake. The Children of Nul Operation introduces a new 3-boss challenge launching with Story and Veteran Modes, with Master Mode coming later.
