The Kuat Drive-Yards (KDY) are a unique Flashpoint that can’t be found through groupfinder you can repeat to earn it’s own unique Reputation and Rewards. KDY is the first and only Flashpoint of this kind in the game so far. It takes place after Oricon, and before Assault on Tython/Korriban Incursion.
Thank you player Zahk for all your help on this guide to make it easier for other players to find the quest objectives!

How to Start
Chronological Start: As part of the Galactic Starfighter update, Kuat Drive Yards takes place just after the Dread War on Oricon, a few patches after Rise of the Hutt Cartel, but before Fractured Alliances kicks off with the Assault on Tython/Korriban Incursion storylines leading up to Shadow of Revan. Story Order Guide
Early on Other Characters: You can run KDY even if you are not caught up on the story, as long as you are the correct level for it – 55+.

Note: a lower level may get the error below: “This Flashpoint May Only Be Accessed Via Group Finder Until You’ve Reached Level 55”. This error is outdated; when released, the level cap was 55. At the time, Kuat Drive Yards was added to the group finder’s random rotation of flashpoints you could randomly get by queueing up from levels 15-54, but due to it’s unique nature, KDY was later removed from the Group Finder and cannot currently be accessed by the tool. All characters must be 55 or higher to play KDY, and they must physically travel there via the fleet.
How to Get There: You can head to Kuat Drive Yards by one way only – physically walking to the entrance and picking up the mission on fleet. To do so, head to the Mission Departures elevator on your fleet (this is the west side on impside and the image below – it will be reversed, east, on republic). Once there, select “Starfighter Launch Deck“, Kuat Drive Yards was released alongside Galactic Starfighter, so this fact may help you remember which floor it’s on.

Reputation
Reputation is a way of gaining favor with different groups by completing missions for them. As you level up your reputation rank, more rewards for that reputation track become available. Reputation is shared by all your characters on your server, so it’s legacy-wide.
By using multiple characters, you won’t be limited to how many KDY flashpoints you run, but you will still be gated by how many reputation points you can earn – you can only earn a hard limit of 12,000 reputation points per week.
There is one Reputation track for KDY named differently for Republic (Republic First Fleet) and Empire (Imperial Forward Command). Progress gained on Republic Side won’t need to be redone on Imperial side.
Ranks
As you run the KDY Flashpoint, you’ll rank up your reputation, and each rank unlocks new rewards from the Kuat Drive Yards Reputation Vendor in the Starfighter Launch Deck.
- None – 0 Reputation
- Outsider – 0/2,500 Reputation (2,500 total points needed)
- Newcomer – 0/5,000 Reputation (7,500 total points needed)
- Friend – 0/7,500 Reputation (15,000 total points needed)
- Hero – 0/10,000 Reputation (25,000 total points needed)
- Champion – 0/15,000 Reputation (40,000 total points needed)
- Legend – 0/30,000 Reputation (70,000 total points needed)
Tokens
Each type of token from KDY gives you a different amount of Reputation, and it also changes based on what various boosts you have and whether you are subscribed or not:
Kuat Commemorative Coin / Sacking of Coruscant Hologlobe: 180 Reputation (270 as a subscriber)
Kuat Service Ribbon / Forward Command Shield of Duty: 420 Reputation (630 as a subscriber)
Medallion of Hope / Ranken Medal of Valor: 960 Reputation (1440 as a subscriber)
Other Rewards
Due to being detached from the Group Finder for the moment, KDY won’t award the usual Conquest Crates and Tech Fragments in the amount you’re used to, though bosses should still drop things like FP-Stabilizers in small amounts. The real unique currency to look out for when doing Kuat Drive Yards is:
KDY Construction Kits: These kits are a unique currency to KDY that can drop from enemies inside the flashpoint and are used as the currency needed for all non-armor set items at the Reputation Vendor. It is not a proper “currency” and will sit in your inventory, so you may want to store them in your bank. These also regularly come up in one of the daily login reward tracks, which can answer how some players come to possess a few of these kits already, without running the content before.
Earning Reputation
- The Initial Story Mission from Lord Greanthen (Imp) / Malfunctioning Terminal (Pub) will award a Purple Token. Note: This is a one-time mission per character, but each level 55+ character you have can pick this up and complete it for a purple token each – the mission completes at the very start of the flashpoint before you get into any combat.
- Bonus Mission Objectives will NOT award reputation.
- Individual Mission steps within the Flashpoint will NOT award reputation.
- Bonus Objective “Elite Defender” Champions may drop Green Tokens and KDY Construction Kits.
- The Final Boss of the Flashpoint may drop Blue Tokens and KDY Construction Kits.
Rewards
All the KDY rewards require First Fleet/Forward Command reputation, credits, and sometimes KDY Construction Kits, earned both by running the Flashpoint and rarely through your daily login rewards. The vendor Raspyon Degger on Republic-side and Yn’neell Lassurg Imperial-side sells the reputation rewards. On the Starfighter Launch Deck, these NPCs hang out near the giant holographic starship in the middle of the deck.
