Boarding Party is a Flashpoint in Star Wars: The Old Republic that you can run alone, with friends, or with other random players through the groupfinder. Boarding Party is a story-heavy Imperial-only Flashpoint, and is the start of an over-arching storyline that spans over multiple flashpoints and even expansions!

Boarding Party

Centuries ago, a powerful Jedi Master stood against the Sith Emperor. Although the Jedi was defeated, the Sith Emperor chose to spare his life and instead placed him in stasis. For the next three hundred years, the Emperor probed the Jedi’s mind, learning of the existence of a powerful space station. But the Jedi was powerful, and resisted the Emperor’s repeated attempts to learn its location. After three centuries, the Jedi escapes from his stasis. He has, but the Jedi is not alone; a Republic fleet has formed a blockade around the station, and a direct Imperial assault would be result in catastrophic losses. Rather than sacrificing a sizable portion of their fleet, the Empire sets in motion a plan to capture a Republic cruiser and sneak a small team of the Empire’s most elite warriors behind the Republic fleet and claim the station for the Empire.

Story – Imperial Instructions

Requirements: To play the Boarding Party Flashpoint in the story, and receive all the special cutscenes related to the Flashpoint in the story, you will need to be level 29+. If you are below this level, you can not play the story quest for this Flashpoint.
![]()
Timeline: In the story, this Flashpoint takes place roughly after Taris on the Imperial side and before Quesh – but the story is not heavily tied into the main storyline, so you can play it whenever you want, but it would be smart to play it, and its partner flashpoint, The Foundry, before you start the expansions, as its story is directly tied into the second expansion’s plot.

Bring a Friend: If you want to bring a friend along for this Flashpoint in Story Mode to do the full story line, you easily can.
If they have not done the Boarding Party storyline, they can join you in a group and you can follow the exact same steps together as long as they are level 29+.
If they have already run the storyline, they’ll be able to join you in the cutscenes after talking to the first droid, by walking in the door after you on the White Nova for the Call to Arms quest. Then after you finish that cutscene with them watching, you’ll be able to enter the Flashpoint, but your friend won’t have any quests so they can’t walk in behind you… tell them to go talk to the nearby Sergeant Tabar droid and pick up the [Start Story Mode] quest and then they will be able to enter the Flashpoint with you.
They can also use the Solo tab in the Activity Finder to quickly join you once you are already inside the Flashpoint as long as they are level 29+.

Directions to the Imperial Story Quest for Boarding Party: Boarding Party’s one-time story quest is started by speaking to a droid on the fleet named X1-02, at level 29 or higher. The droid questgiver will have a yellow triangle quest over its head, and is near the western elevator of the fleet. The Flashpoint itself is located on the fleet on the White Nova, and you need to take the western fleet elevator to the Interfleet Transport level, and a taxi to the White Nova. You can also quicktravel directly to the White Nova from the fleet. The flashpoint storyline is called Call to Arms for Imperial players.
Step 1 – Questgiver near the western elevator of the Imperial Fleet named X1-02
You can technically also start this quest by speaking to a droid named X1-09 – he’s on the White Nova. He’ll send you to the same quest.
Step 2 – get to the White Nova – either quicktravel if you have it, or…
.. take the Taxi to the White Nova. To get there, use the Elevator on the west side of the Imperial Fleet to the Interfleet Transport level.
Then take the Taxi to the White Nova.
Step 3 – Follow the quest marker for the Call to Arms quest, and speak to Moff Phennir on the White Nova – go in the green door to the north, do NOT talk to the questgivers outside the door.

Once inside, talk to Moff Phennir to watch the introductory quest.

You’ll now automatically be on the quest [STORY] Boarding Party. Finally, head outside again, and go inside the colorful quest door around a corner.

Didn’t automatically get the [STORY] Flashpoint: Board Party quest? If you did not automatically get the quest, the first step is to check your quest log. If you already have a version of Boarding Party in your quest log, for example Veteran mode or Master Mode, you’ll not automatically receive the Story version. If you do have a Veteran Mode quest, find it in your quest log and click the Abandon button. Then you can pick up the [STORY] Flashpoint: Boarding Party quest from Sergeant Tabar outside the flashpoint’s entrance. The second reason you may not automatically get the quest is if you’ve already used the Reset All Active Flashpoints option too many times earlier today, then you just need to wait before picking up the story mode again tomorrow, but it is unlikely this is the issue.

If you play in Story Mode, you will also get a Combat Support Droid to help you.

If you lose him, you can re-summon him by left-clicking the blue symbol beside the Boarding Party quest.

If you can’t see that icon, you can also right-click the item in the Mission Items tab of your inventory.

![]()
Story Progress: [STORY] Boarding Party will not progress your storyline – it is simply the repeatable solo version. To work on the overarching story, you also need to be on the quest Call to Arms on the step Complete Flashpoint: Boarding Party and then run the [STORY] Flashpoint: Boarding Party quest.

Lost the quest? If you lost the Call to Arms quest, head back to the X1-02 Droid you started at to re-pick up the quest. Keep in mind this story-based introductory quest Call to Arms is one-time-per-character. If you lost the ability to walk into the Flashpoint door, or lost the quest with the word Flashpoint in it, you can pick up the [STORY] Flashpoint: Boarding Party quest from the Sergeant Tabar outside the flashpoint’s entrance.

Solo (Story) – Imperial Instructions

You can also run this repeatable Flashpoint solo outside of the one-time storyquest, at level 29+.

Activity Finder: The FASTEST and EASIEST way to get into the Boarding Party Flashpoint soo mode is with the Activity Finder. If you are level 29 or higher, click the icon of “three little people” on the bottom right of your screen which will open the Activity Finder Window.
Then choose the Solo tab in the Activity Finder.
On the solo tab, scroll down and find the listing for Boarding Party on the list under Flashpoints, select it, then click the green Travel button. This will take you right into the Flashpoint!

Bring a Friend: You are allowed to bring friends along for this Flashpoint, you do not have to do it alone even though it is considered soloable. Your friends must also be level 29+, be in a group with you, and then you can all use the Solo Tab of the Activity Finder to get into the Flashpoint, and it will put you together no matter where in the galaxy you started from.

There’s really no need to walk into the Flashpoint manually, but here are the instructions.
Manual Entry (Imperial): To enter this Flashpoint manually, you must go to the Boarding Party’s Flashpoint entrance, which is located on the Imperial Fleet on the White Nova, and you need to take the western fleet elevator to the Interfleet Transport level, and take a taxi to the White Nova. You can also quicktravel directly to the White Nova from the Imperial Fleet. The flashpoint quest giver is named Sergeant Tabar Imperial side on the White Nova, look for the the quest marker for Boarding Party and pick up your preferred mode from the droid. If you don’t see the Solo version it means you are not yet eligible due to being below level 29. The solo, single-player repeatable mode will be called [Start Story Mode] from the droid. You can then walk in the nearby door and play the Flashpoint.
Step 1 – get to the White Nova – either quicktravel if you have it, or…
.. take the Taxi to the White Nova. To get there, use the Elevator on the west side of the Imperial Fleet to the Interfleet Transport level.
Then take the Taxi to the White Nova.
Step 2 – Speak to the questgiver named Sergeant Tabar and choose [Start Story Mode] from the options. Then walk in the nearby door around the corner.

If you play in Story Mode, you will also get a Combat Support Droid to help you.

If you lose him, you can re-summon him by left-clicking the blue symbol beside the Boarding Party quest.

If you can’t see that icon, you can also right-click the item in the Mission Items tab of your inventory.

Story: [STORY] Flashpoint: Boarding Party alone will not progress your storyline – it is simply the repeatable solo version. To work on the overarching story, you also need to be on the quest Call to Arms on the step Complete Flashpoint: Boarding Party and then run the [STORY] Flashpoint: Boarding Party quest. See the Story tab for more info.
Veteran – Imperial Instructions

Boarding Party also has a repeatable 4-player Veteran version. It is meant to be completed by a group with any type of Imperial characters in it, you do not necessarily need a tank or healer to complete it. You will likely also have good luck with 2 players and 2 companions, or 3 players and 1 companion.

Group Finder: If you want to queue up and enter Boarding Party in veteran mode through the group finder, you will need to be level 29-80 and not currently on any Boarding Party Flashpoint quests or it won’t show up as an option in the group finder. If you are level 29-80, click the icon of “three little people” on the bottom right of your screen which will open the Activity Finder Window. Then choose the Group tab in the Activity Finder.
Filter: If you want to specifically run Boarding Party and not a random Flashpoint, make sure to choose Veteran Flashpoints, then click the Filter button the right and narrow your choices down to just Boarding Party before pressing Join Queue. Joining the queue will put you in line to be matched with random players to play Boarding Party with.
Groupfinder flashpoints do NOT show the cutscenes. To see the cutscenes related to this Flashpoint, you must enter it manually by walking in the door.

Bring a Friend in the Groupfinder: You can queue up with a group of 2, 3, or 4 players in the group finder. If you have a full group of 4, it will bring you straight to the Flashpoint with your full group. If you have 2 or 3 players in your group, the group finder will match you with other random players until you have a full group – but you’ll always be paired with your friends who started off in your group, and will not be split up.

Story: [VETERAN] Boarding Party will not progress your storyline – it is simply the repeatable group version. If you are a low level, this is the only version that will show up on the terminal – so don’t be confused and accidentally enter the group version if you are a low level, as it is not meant to be completed alone.

Veteran Manual Entry (Imperial): To enter this Flashpoint manually, you must go to the Boarding Party’s Flashpoint entrance, which is located on the Imperial Fleet on the White Nova, and you need to take the western fleet elevator to the Interfleet Transport level, and take a taxi to the White Nova. You can also quicktravel directly to the White Nova from the Imperial Fleet. The questgiver is named Sergeant Tabar Imperial side on the White Nova, look for the the quest marker for Boarding Party and pick up your preferred mode from the droid. The veteran repeatable mode will be called [Start Veteran Mode] from the droid. You can then walk in the nearby door together and play the Flashpoint.

Bring a Friend Manually: Veteran Mode Flashpoints are not meant to be completed alone, though highly-skilled, highly-geared, high-level players might be able to. To bring friends along for this Veteran Flashpoint, they’ll need to pick up the Veteran Mode quest from the questgiver – or you can pick up the quest and share it with them, but they’ll still need to walk in the door manually. Characters walking in the door need to be level 15+.
Step 1 – get to the White Nova – either quicktravel if you have it, or…
.. take the Taxi to the White Nova. To get there, use the Elevator on the west side of the Imperial Fleet to the Interfleet Transport level.
Then take the Taxi to the White Nova.
Step 2 – Speak to the questgiver named Sergeant Tabar and choose [Start Veteran Mode] from the options. Then walk in the nearby door around the corner.

Master – Imperial Instructions

Master Mode is the hardest version of Boarding Party. It is meant to be completed by a high-level high-skilled group at level 80. Most teams will want a Tank, Healer and two Damage characters.

Group Finder: If you want to queue up and enter Boarding Party in Master Mode through the group finder, you will need to be level 80 and not currently on any Boarding Party Flashpoint quests or it won’t show up as an option in the group finder. If you are level 80, click the icon of “three little people” on the bottom right of your screen which will open the Activity Finder Window. Then choose the Group tab in the Activity Finder.
Filter: If you want to specifically run Boarding Party and not a random Flashpoint, make sure to choose Master Flashpoints, then click the Filter button the right and narrow your choices down to just Boarding Party before pressing Join Queue. Joining the queue will put you in line to be matched with random players to play Boarding Party with.

Master Manual Entry (Imperial): To enter this Flashpoint manually, you must go to the Boarding Party’s Flashpoint entrance, which is located on the Imperial Fleet on the White Nova, and you need to take the western fleet elevator to the Interfleet Transport level, and take a taxi to the White Nova. You can also quicktravel directly to the White Nova from the Imperial Fleet. The questgiver is named Sergeant Tabar Imperial side on the White Nova, look for the the quest marker for Boarding Party and pick up your preferred mode from the droid. The master repeatable mode will be called [Start Master Mode] from the droid. You can then walk in the nearby door together and play the Flashpoint.

Bring a Friend Manually: Master Mode Flashpoints are not meant to be completed alone, and are designed for level 80 players who are comfortable with their role and class. To bring friends along for this Master Flashpoint, they’ll need to pick up the Master Mode quest from the questgiver – or you can pick up the quest and share it with them, but they’ll still need to walk in the door manually while you’re in a group. Level 50-80 characters can technically enter Master Mode flashpoints, but all the enemies are level 80, and they will die very quickly.
Step 1 – get to the White Nova – either quicktravel if you have it, or…
.. take the Taxi to the White Nova. To get there, use the Elevator on the west side of the Imperial Fleet to the Interfleet Transport level.
Then take the Taxi to the White Nova.

Bosses
Boarding Party has a bunch of bosses including the HXI-54 Juggernaut droid , Major Alvena, Skan Do’nair, Lieutenant Menerus, the Bonus Boss: Chief Engineer Kels, and Storm Squad which consists of Security Chief Massey, Commander Jorland, and Medical Officer Alon.
HXI-54 Juggernaut

When you see the red text about HXI-54 Juggernaut preparing to discharge a torrent of energy, stand out of the blue cross of lighting or you will die.

Major Alvena

No interesting mechanics, just fight the boss.
Skan Do’nair

No interesting mechanics, just fight the boss.
Lieutenant Menerus

Stay out of the red fire circles, they can really hurt.

Bonus Boss: Chief Engineer Kels

To unlock the Bonus Boss, do the Vanguards bonus quest (more information below in Bonus section).
Focus on the enemies without a blue shield protecting them.

Storm Squad
Security Chief Massey, Commander Jorland, Meddical Officer Alon

Do not attack the enemy with the bright blue shield, it reflect damage back at you.
Bonus Quests
There are two bonus quests for Boarding Party. Killing 50 normal enemies, then 10 Jedi, then finding 10 terminals will unlock the Bonus Boss, and the glowing blue Comlink Disruptors seen early 0n are just for extra XP and credits.
Vanguards (Bonus)
This multi-step bonus unlocks the bonus boss.
- Stage 1: Defeat Republic Forces: 0/50
- Stage 2: Defeat Jedi: 0/10
- Stage 3: Disable Reactor Security Terminals: 0/6
- Final Stage: Shut Down the Reactor (Bonus Boss)

Comlink Disruption (Bonus)
The Comlink Relays are glowing blue poles scattered around the flashpoint. There is exactly 6 so you need to find them all.

Skips
What follows are a quick gallery of images depicting specific walking routes that may save you some time by avoiding enemies during the flashpoint – certain routes will be highlighted as the main “community routes” that you’ll probably see players in random activity-finder groups try to do – if you only practice one skip out of all of these, make it the community one! All of the following images are done without stealth or without a sleep dart/mind maze from a stealth character, so anyone can attempt them. If you fail to slip by unnoticed or see your team has attacked the enemies – always pull back from these routes and go back to help them defeat them! These may save time if everyone does them, but nothing makes a flashpoint slower than running ahead and not helping others to get out of combat again.
Solo Stealth: If you are playing Boarding Party alone and are on a Stealth character, or are in a full group of stealthers, you can skip many of the enemies – xxxxxxx
Skip #1

There really aren’t any skips without stealth until you start seeing jedi. In the first room with a Jedi in it, you can squeak across the keyboard of this terminal in the inner corner of the room to avoid them: there’s an engineer that runs around the room frantically that might pull, but depending on where the engineer is when he pulls, he won’t bring the rest of the room with him.
Skip #2

After the first boss, a door will open into a room with riflemen staring at you. You can hug the corner to the right to get by, but the patrolling gold-level bot in the image will need to be dealt with.
Skip #3 – Community Skip (Possibly Deprecated?)

Around the corner from Skip #2, you’ll get into a big hangar with some Jedi in the way – lots of players like to jump onto the handles of these cargo containers like in the image above, then jump again to get on top. Doing this, you can drop down on the other side and either fight the easier Republic troopers on the bonus objective comlink, or thread the needle between them and the Jedi to continue on with the flashpoint. NOTE: bigger characters like Body Type 3 males may seriously struggle to get up onto the container – they’re too wide to get their feet onto the handles of the box, so if you see people struggling to hop up, it may not be a skill issue but a character customization one – pull them up if your class has that ability! DEPRECATION NOTE: Go ahead and try this skip if you like, but you may find that upon dropping down on the other side, two republic riflemen jetpack down from the ceiling and ambush you immediately, chain-aggroing with the Jedi you just jumped past. This was recently tested on story mode and it was unclear if the chain-aggro was just due to the support droid. These extra riflemen may have been added around when Athiss got it’s notorious corner-jump patched to reduce popular community skip usage.
Skip #4

After Boss 2, you’ll find these two Jedi who need their eyes checked. Walk right by them by hugging the right corner.
Skip #5

Right after that, the two Republic Troopers in this hangar also can be skipped by just hopping the barrier here.
WARNING

Not a skip, but on the narrow walkway in this hangar, don’t force-push to knockback any enemies into this lower hangar section. Lots of players looking to run flashpoints fast tend to push stuff off ledges to save time, but this ledge leads to a livable area with more enemies in it. Any enemy pushed down here will run back up the tunnel in the back and pull everything you didn’t kill in the hangar with it. Opposite of a time saver. May even get your party killed.
Skip #6

On that note, here’s two more Jedi you can practice pacifism with by just jumping the corner.
Skip #7 – Community Skip

Although you’re passing up two bonus objectives in doing so, this entire room can be skipped by leaping from the little upraised nub on the stairs to the left ledge that goes all the way down the hall.
Skip #8 – Community Skip

After the bonus boss’s little reactor junction, you’ll come to an identical hall as skip 7. You can do the same jump here.
Skip #9

This group here can be skipped by hugging the corner but only if your timing is lucky – the Gold-level droid will patrol in and out and it needs to be closer to the other enemies for it to work.
Rewards
In addition to the usual rewards of XP, credits, gear and end-game currency, Boarding Party has the following rewards available.
