SWTOR Mandalorian Raiders Flashpoint Guide

Mandalorian Raiders is a Flashpoint in Star Wars: The Old Republic that can be run with friends, or with other random players through the groupfinder.

Mandalorian Raiders

During the war, one of the Empire’s most valuable allies was the Mandalorians; a society of warrior-based clans that are united under their leader, Mandalore. When the treaty of Coruscant was signed and the war ended, many Mandalorians found themselves growing restless. While many Mandalorians broke away from their clans to become bounty hunters or join private militaries, one Clan turned their back on the Mandalorian leadership and set out on a ritualized quest for battle. The militant clan Varad has hijacked the powerful Republic warship “Allusis”, and has begun a campaign of brutality against both Republic and Imperial controlled worlds. Clan Varad poses a risk to the stability of the Outer Rim and cannot go unpunished for their actions. Now both the Republic and Empire put into motion plans to take the Allusis for themselves, and punish the rogue Mandalorians for their actions.

Story/Solo – Republic Instructions

Unfortunately, there is no story or solo version of the Mandalorian Raiders Flashpoint. You can watch the very short introductory cutscene by yourself, but without a group, you likely won’t be able to finish the Flashpoint in any of its available modes.

Mandalorian Raiders has a Veteran mode, which is designed for 4 players level 15-80. However, if you are higher level, and have a higher skill level, gear level, and companion influence level, you may be able to run the entire Flashpoint solo with some patience and practice. Otherwise, you will need to run this Flashpoint with a group you put together in general chat, or through the group finder.

To learn more about where to pick up the introductory quest to see the start of the story, or to learn how to run it through the groupfinder, see the other tabs.

How to see the Introductory Quest Solo

Step 1 – On the Republic Fleet, take the eastern elevator to the Dropship Launch Hangar level

Step 2 – Pick up the quest from the terminal on the Dropship Launch Hangar level

If you are level 80, it will give you the option to choose between Veteran and Master. If you are below level 80, you will automatically be given then Veteran mode quest.

You next options are:

  • head on inside the nearby colorful door for Mandalorian Raiders and try to solo it even though it is designed for 4 players
  • put together a group in general chat to run Mandalorian Raiders
  • try to run Mandalorian Raiders through the group finder
  • drop the quest for now, and come back later with a group or when you are more confident that you can solo it

Solo Report: In 7.7.1 I tried to solo Mandalorian Raiders on my best damage character who has full 344 gear, implants, and a tactical. I was having too much trouble surviving the first boss – it kept killing my companion. I think it would be possible with a tank or damage-with-taunt character, with a lot of practice.

Veteran – Republic Instructions

Mandalorian Raiders has a repeatable 4-player Veteran version. It is meant to be completed by a group with any type of Republic characters in it, you do not necessarily need a tank or healer to complete it. You will likely also have good luck with 2 players and 2 companions, or 3 players and 1 companion.

Group Finder: If you want to queue up and enter Mandalorian Raiders in veteran mode through the group finder, you will need to be level 21-80 and not currently on any Mandalorian Raiders Flashpoint quests or it won’t show up as an option in the group finder. If you are level 21-80, click the icon of “three little people” on the bottom right of your screen which will open the Activity Finder Window. Then choose the Group tab in the Activity Finder.

Filter: If you want to specifically run Mandalorian Raiders and not a random Flashpoint, make sure to choose Veteran Flashpoints, then click the Filter button the right and narrow your choices down to just Mandalorian Raiders before pressing Join Queue. Joining the queue will put you in line to be matched with random players to play Mandalorian Raiders with.

Groupfinder flashpoints do NOT show the cutscenes. To see the cutscenes related to this Flashpoint, you must enter it manually by walking in the door.

Bring a Friend in the Groupfinder: You can queue up with a group of 2, 3, or 4 players in the group finder. If you have a full group of 4, it will bring you straight to the Flashpoint with your full group. If you have 2 or 3 players in your group, the group finder will match you with other random players until you have a full group – but you’ll always be paired with your friends who started off in your group, and will not be split up.

Veteran Manual Entry (Republic): To enter this Flashpoint manually, you must go to the Mandalorian Raiders’s Flashpoint entrance, which is located on the Republic Fleet, and you need to take the eastern fleet elevator to the Dropship Launch Hangar level, and pick it up from a terminal. It will have a short cutscene to explain the story of the Flashpoint presented by Satele Shan.

Bring a Friend Manually: Veteran Mode Flashpoints are not meant to be completed alone, though highly-skilled, highly-geared, high-level players might be able to. To bring friends along for this Veteran Flashpoint, they’ll need to pick up the Veteran Mode quest from the terminal – or you can pick up the quest and share it with them, but they’ll still need to walk in the door manually. Characters walking in the door need to be level 15+.

Bosses

This Flashpoint has three boss fights – Braxx the Bloodhound the Mandalorian Beastmaster, the Boarding Party, and the final boss Mavrix Varad.

In Veteran Mode when you have multiple players you can use the medpacs scattered around the bosses. Right-click them to heal yourself. If you are alone in Veteran mode, they will not work.

The following boss info is mainly for Veteran mode – Master Mode is essentially the same, just harder.

Braxx the Bloodhound

Ideally, the tank would keep Braxx the human away from his bloodhounds – but in Veteran mode, it doesn’t matter very much.

Boarding Party

Republic side they are named Imperial Boarding Party made up of Vincine, Rotham, Kyrenic, Andan, Imperial side they are named Republic Boarding Party made up of Magnus, Ezeraline, Keenor and Taklan, but the fight is the same on both sides.

Many teams “line of sight” LOS this boss team by hiding around a corner and making the enemies come to them and group up. If you see your team hiding around a corner, go with them! Not everyone knows this strategy though, so if not, feel free to just kill them.

Some groups kill them in a specific order – but it doesn’t matter much in Veteran mode.

Bonus Boss: Ancient Abomination (Master Mode Only)

Only available in Master Mode, from bonus quest Secondary Targets (Bonus) after defeating 80 enemies.

He doesn’t have much mechanics except he puts red circles all over the ground that may hurt.

I got shown a fun trick where before the fight starts, ranged damage players and healers can jump up some nearby crates and onto this shipping crate box and they can stay away from his red circles.

Mavrix Varad

If you are having trouble, fight his turrets first.

Use the terminal to finish the Flashpoint, then Exit Area to leave.

Bonus Quest (Master Mode Only)

The Bonus quest for Athiss is only available in Master Mode – it does not exist in Veteran Mode.

The bonus quest is called Secondary Targets (Bonus) and unlocks the bonus boss, these are the steps:

  • Defeat 80 Enemy Forces on the Allusis in the Mandalorian Raiders Flashpoint – you need to defeat a lot of the enemies in the Flashpoint, but not every single one you see. You can do this all the way until the final boss – any enemy counts, and the bonus boss is right before the final boss.
  • Access the Terminal – near the bonus boss spawn point, right before the final boss
  • Defeat Gil

Crew Skills

Medical Droid – Scavenging 100

If you have Scavenging 100, you can right-click the glowing blue droid on the ground very early in the flashpoint.

He becomes a medical droid that will follow your group around for 10 minutes or until he dies, and he will heal you. There’s a second one further up too.

IMPORTANT!!!! These droids do not have a good concept of personal space or stealthing or being sneaky. The droid following you may trigger enemies by accident if you or your group are trying to sneak around them.

Lost Cultural Artifact – Archaeology

If you have Archaeology level 165, you can right-click the Lost Cultural Artifact up a set of stair to the north of the blue door where you set the explosives. It gives your team a buff:

Blessing of the Ancients – Health regeneration increased. Heal the TARGET for (1% of its HP),

Elevator Console – Slicing

If you have Slicing level 150, you can right-click the elevator on the third map of the Flashpoint, and it will unlock a shortcut for your group.

Hidden Chests

These hidden chests often contain free crafting materials or a piece of Fitted armor or other similar small rewards. No crew skills are needed to get them.

This chest is located on a platform walkway halfway down the super long elevator, on the left. Most teams do not stop here as there is no reason to for the main quest objective.

Skips

What follows are a quick gallery of images depicting specific walking routes that may save you some time by avoiding enemies during the flashpoint – certain routes will be highlited as the main “community routes” that you’ll probably see players in random activity-finder groups try to do – if you only practice one skip out of all of these, make it the community one! All of the following images are done without stealth or without a sleep dart/mind maze from a stealth character, so anyone can attempt them. If you fail to slip by unnoticed or see your team has attacked the enemies – always pull back from these routes and go back to help them defeat them! These may save time if everyone does them, but nothing makes a flashpoint slower than running ahead and not helping others to get out of combat again.

Solo Stealth: If you are playing Mandalorian Raiders alone and are on a Stealth character, or have a full stealth group, you can skip many of the enemies.

Skip #1

This one isn’t too convenient and doesn’t save much time, but if you’re really looking to avoid enemies – right after the first large room on the crew deck of the Allusis you can hug the wall here and skip a single pack of enemies if you hop the box. The group right after needs to be pulled, though, and chances are in a random group, one of the four of you will pull this one by accident.

Skip #2 – Community Skip

You’ll probably see lots of players try this one. Hug the right-hand wall, jump onto the grey wall-support and then onto the boxes and over, and you won’t fight the gold-level droid or any of it’s reinforcements.

Skip #3 – Crewskill Skip

Lots of players that run activity finder tend to bring characters with slicing, so make sure to stop before this terminal in-case a group member has the required 150 slicing to skip this whole bottom floor.

Skip #4

If you DIDN’T have slicing, you can still skip this room if you stay exactly lined up with the center of the walkway and run. So long as you tight-rope walk on the very center, neither laser cannon should see you.

Skip #5 – Advanced

Up on the bridge, two gold-level droids will be running back and forth very quickly looking for you. If you jump onto the railing and then onto the edge, you may be able to run by without pulling them, but you need to be fast – if the droids run backwards while your team is still travelling, the nearer droid can pull. These droids come with a knockback effect, so doing this slowly can send a teammate (or four) over the edge, which can get properly messy if you skipped the stuff down there, too.

Skip #6 – Community Skip

Directly after skip 5 you’ll see two big laser cannons in the next room – just hug the left corner and run to the room beyond and they’ll not pull. Most players will do this one umprompted.

Skip #7

After the second boss (the Boarding Party) you’ll take a large freight elevator downward. Halfway, it stops to a walkway and you’ll need to get on the next elevator to continue down. Stick to the left half of the elevators and you won’t pull the group guarding the walkway. (Once the 2nd elevator lands, you’ll also arrive at a group of three mandos commonly sleep dart-skipped in coordinated groups – if you see a stealther do this for you, just hug the left side of the room and walk out.)

Skip #8

After the interacting with the glowing blue panel as a team (outside group finder this is a cutscene to decide the fate of some engineers) you can avoid the encounter against a laser cannon and it’s reinforcements by simply turning sharply around the next corner here.

Master Mode

Master Mode Mandalorian Raiders is almost exactly the same as Veteran Mode Mandalorian Raiders, except for these differences:

  • The enemies are stronger and have more health
  • There is the bonus quest to kill 80 enemies, then a bonus boss named Gil right before the final boss
  • The first two bosses don’t seem to have more mechanics, but the final boss hurts a lot more, so you may need to actually stop and fight the turrets
  • If the turrets are killing you, you can line of site and fight the turrets one by one so they can’t all shoot you at once from across the room

Rewards

In addition to the usual rewards of XP, credits, gear and end-game currency, Mandalorian Raiders has the following rewards available.

The Starship Medical Tank decoration that drops from Mandalorian Raiders. I don’t have details on whether this drops in Veteran mode or not, but it was reported by a player to drop from the final boss in Master Mode. It can also be bought and sold on the GTN.
