SWTOR Czerka Core Meltdown Flashpoint Guide

Czerka Core Meltdown is a Flashpoint in Star Wars: The Old Republic that you can run with friends or with other random players through the groupfinder.

Czerka Core Meltdown

Due to years of corruption and criminality, the Republic has decided to shut down the Czerka Corporation and absorb its assets. But one executive refuses to surrender: Rasmus Blys, administrator of a secret weapons facility on the moon CZ-198. You have been recruited to join the Republic’s efforts to capture CZ-198 and seize the weapons inside.

Before his defeat, Rasmus Blys activated his deadliest creation: a ruthless security system known as “The Vigilant”. It is critical that you disable the Vigilant immediately.

How to Start

Czerka Core Meltdown is a Flashpoint meant to be played later in the story, quite a while after your class story is completed. You can encounter it after your class story,  or play it outside of the story with a group in Veteran or Master mode.

Use the tabs above for instructions for how to enter the flashpoint in the story line, and how to enter it in Veteran mode and Master mode on Republic Side or Imperial Side.

  • Story: Lvl 55+
  • Solo: No “solo” version available.
  • Veteran: Lvl 15-80
  • Veteran Groupfinder: Lvl 55-80
  • Master Mode: Lvl 50-80 †
  • Master Mode Groupfinder: Lvl 80

Story/Solo – Republic Instructions

Requirements: To play the Czerka Core Meltdown Flashpoint in the story, and receive all the special cutscenes related to the Flashpoint in the story, you will need to be level 55+.

Unfortunately, there is no solo version of the Czerka Core Meltdown. You can watch the very short introductory cutscene by yourself, but without a group, you likely won’t be able to finish the Flashpoint in any of its available modes.

Czerka Core Meltdown has a Veteran mode, which is designed for 4 players level 15-80. However, if you are higher level, and have a higher skill level, gear level, and companion influence level, you may be able to run the entire Flashpoint solo with some patience and practice. Otherwise, you will need to run this Flashpoint with a group you put together in general chat, or through the group finder. To learn more about how to run it through the groupfinder, see the other tabs.

Timeline: In the story, this Flashpoint takes place after the end of the original base game – so after your class story, and after the False Emperor storyline and flashpoints, but it isn’t a big part of the main storyline, so you can play it later or come back to it at any time.

Bring a Friend: If you want to bring a friend along for this Flashpoint to do the full story line with you, you easily can.

If they have not done the Czerka Core Meltdown storyline, they can join you in a group and you can follow the exact same steps together if they are also level 55+.

If they have already run the storyline, or have not done the quest but are under level 55 and not eligible, they’ll be able to join you in the cutscenes after talking to the first questgiver, by walking in the door after you on the Gav Daragon. Then after you finish that cutscene with them watching, you’ll be able to enter the Flashpoint, but your friend won’t have any quests so they can’t walk in behind you… tell them to go pick up the quest from the blue terminal on CZ-198 and then they will be able to enter the Flashpoint with you if they are also level 55+.

Directions to the Republic Story Quest for Czerka Core Meltdown: Czerka Core Meltdown’s one-time story quest is started by speaking to a droid in the the Galactic Trade Market section of the fleet named RK-C3, at level 55 or higher. The droid questgiver will have a yellow triangle quest over his head. This story is a two-part Flashpoint story, with Czerka Corporate Labs being the first one, followed by Czerka Core Meltdown. The Flashpoint itself is located on CZ-198, in the hallway with the green rug, behind the vendors up a set of stairs. The flashpoint storyline is called Titans of Industry for Republic players.

Step 1 – Questgiver in the Galactic Trade Market section of the fleet named RK-C3

Step 2 – Get to the Gav Daragon – either quicktravel if you have it, or…

.. take the Taxi to the Gav Daragon. To get there, use the Elevator on the east side of the Republic Fleet to the Interfleet Transport level.

Then take the Taxi to the Gav Daragon.

Step 3 –  Follow the quest marker for the Titans of Industry quest in the very north west of the Gav Daragon and right-click Adjudicator Refain to start the cutscene

Step 4 – Fly to CZ-198 using your ship.

Step 5 – On CZ-198, run down the green carpet – ignore other nearby quests.  There will be a set of stairs leading upwards behind the vendor area.

Step 6 – Pick up the Czerka Corporate Labs quest from the blue terminal. You will likely want to choose Veteran Mode.

If for some reason it is not available, you might already have a version of the Czerka Corporate Labs Flashpoint in your quest log… you can abandon that first if you need to, then exit and check the terminal again.

Step 7 – Run the Flashpoint.  Then you can head on inside and run the Czerka Corporate Labs Flashpoint, the first flashpoint that is part of the two-part story.

Step 8 – After finishing Czerka Corporate Labs, you will be sent to the next Flashpoint. Leave the Flashpoint using the Exit Area button, and head back into the hallway with the green carpet on CZ-198. This time, go down the stairs beside the vendors.

Step 9 – Pick up the Czerka Core Meltdown quest from the blue terminal. You will likely want to choose Veteran Mode.

If for some reason it is not available, you might already have a version of the Czerka Core Meltdown Flashpoint in your quest log… you can abandon that first if you need to, then exit and check the terminal again.

Step 10 – Run the Flashpoint.  Then you can head on inside and run the Czerka Core Meltdown Flashpoint, the second flashpoint that is part of the two-part story.

After running Czerka Core Meltdown, you can finish off the Titans of Industry quest by returning to the Republic Fleet, travelling to the Gav Daragon Ship, and following the quest marker to speak with Adjudicator Refain for a final time!

Lost the quest? If you lost the Titans of Industry quest, head back to RK-C3 the quest giver in the Galactic Trade Market section of the Fleet – it can be abandoned, so you may have dropped it somewhere along the way. If you lost the ability to walk into the Flashpoint door, or lost the quest with the word Flashpoint in it, you can pick up the  [VETERAN] Flashpoint: Czerka Core Meltdown quest from the blue terminal outside the flashpoint’s entrance on CZ-198.

Veteran Instructions

Czerka Core Meltdown has a repeatable 4-player Veteran version. It is meant to be completed by a group with any type of Republic characters in it, you do not necessarily need a tank or healer to complete it. You will likely also have good luck with 2 players and 2 companions, or 3 players and 1 companion.

Group Finder: If you want to queue up and enter Czerka Core Meltdown in veteran mode through the group finder, you will need to be level 55-80 and not currently on any Czerka Core Meltdown Flashpoint quests or it won’t show up as an option in the group finder. If you are level 55-80, click the icon of “three little people” on the bottom right of your screen which will open the Activity Finder Window. Then choose the Group tab in the Activity Finder.

Filter: If you want to specifically run Czerka Core Meltdown and not a random Flashpoint, make sure to choose Veteran Flashpoints, then click the Filter button the right and narrow your choices down to just Czerka Core Meltdown before pressing Join Queue. Joining the queue will put you in line to be matched with random players to play Czerka Core Meltdown with.

Groupfinder flashpoints do NOT show the cutscenes. To see the cutscenes related to this Flashpoint, you must enter it manually by walking in the door.

Bring a Friend in the Groupfinder: You can queue up with a group of 2, 3, or 4 players in the group finder. If you have a full group of 4, it will bring you straight to the Flashpoint with your full group. If you have 2 or 3 players in your group, the group finder will match you with other random players until you have a full group – but you’ll always be paired with your friends who started off in your group, and will not be split up.

Story: [VETERAN] Czerka Core Meltdown will not progress your storyline – it is simply the repeatable group version. If you are a low level, this is the only version that will show up on the actual Flashpoint terminal in front of the entrance door – so don’t be confused and accidentally enter the group version if you are a low level, as it is not meant to be completed alone. To work on the overarching story, you also need to be on the quest Titans of Industry on the step Complete Flashpoint: Czerka Core Meltdown and then run the [VETERAN] Flashpoint: Czerka Core Meltdown quest.

Veteran Manual Entry: To enter this Flashpoint manually, you must go to the Czerka Core Meltdown’s Flashpoint entrance, which is located on the planet CZ-198, which you would fly to with your ship. Then head down the hallway with the green rug, and go up the stairs behind the vendors. The Flashpoint can be picked up from the blue terminal in front of the Czerka Core Meltdown entrance. Choose [VETERAN] from the list.

Bring a Friend Manually: Veteran Mode Flashpoints are not meant to be completed alone, though highly-skilled, highly-geared, high-level players might be able to. To bring friends along for this Veteran Flashpoint, they’ll need to pick up the Veteran Mode quest from the questgiver – or you can pick up the quest and share it with them, but they’ll still need to walk in the door manually. Characters walking in the door need to be level 15+.

Step 1 – Fly to CZ-198 using your ship.

Step 2 – On CZ-198, run down the green carpet.  There will be a set of stairs leading upwards behind the vendor area.

Step 3 – Pick up the quest from the blue terminal. Choose [VETERAN].

If for some reason it is not available, you might already have a version of the Czerka Core Meltdown Flashpoint in your quest log… you can abandon that first if you need to, then exit and check the terminal again.

Master Mode is the hardest version of Czerka Core Meltdown. It is meant to be completed by a high-level high-skilled group at level 80. Most teams will want a Tank, Healer and two Damage characters.

Bosses

This Flashpoint has three boss fights – the Enhanced Vrblther in the swamp, the Enhanced Duneclaw in the desert, and the The Vigilant final boss.

In Veteran Mode when you have multiple players you can use the medpacs scattered around the bosses. Right-click them to heal yourself.

To-do: The following boss info is mainly for Veteran mode – Master Mode tactics are not covered in this guide.

You can do the first two bosses in either order.

Boss 1 – Enhanced Vrblther

You can start the fight by right-clicking the blue terminal, which will cause the boss to pounce on you.

The goal is to bring the Vrblther over the one of the glowing blue flowers, and when he is quite close, right-click the glowing blue mushroom pod.

If he is close enough, he will get poisoned, making him vulnerable and die faster.

When the boss’s poison runs out, and you need to click another mushroom with him nearby, the game will let you know with red text that he has adjusted, or you can watch his debuff that looks like a yellow microbe on a red background.

If you are playing alone, the Bogwings can actually hurt quite a bit. They can also be affected by the poison if they are close enough to the mushroom when you click it.

The boss has a lot of knockbacks, so it might be smart to just aim your back towards the next mushroom instead of running over.

Don’t forget to right-click the blue terminal after the fight is finished.

Boss 2 – Enhanced Duneclaw

You can start the fight by right-clicking the blue terminal, which will cause the boss to pounce on you.

The desert boss does a lot of ground smashes, so stand behind him unless he is attacking you specifically.

When a sandstorm starts, bring him over to the barrel that is glowing green – there will be a few around the room, but only one will be activated at a time.

If he is close enough and facing the Sandstorm Activator, he will smash it, in a Rampage, stopping the sandstorm.

Don’t forget to right-click the blue terminal after the fight is finished.

Boss 3 – The Vigilant

This fight is a bit weird and messy.

You need to attack the Data Integration Points that look like glowing yellow computer cores.

Blue circles will be under your feet almost constantly, they are very annoying.

In a few seconds, they turn red, then they will drop onto the floor, and turn into semi-permanent lightning pools that you need to stay out of as much as possible.

As you kill the Data Cores, smaller enemies will show up. Pause from killing the cores and kill the smaller enemies if they are hurting you.

In Veteran Mode, playing alone, I needed to kill about four cores to get the boss to come down.

If you are stuck in combat, you can use the little teleporters around the room – step onto them and they will bring you up to the Data Integration Points around the outer edge of the room so you can kill them, allowing you to finish the Flashpoint.

Master Mode: In Master Mode, you will need to kill 7 cores, so make sure to use the teleporters by walking on them to get up to the Data Integration Points that are up high if you don’t have a leap.

Use the Exit Area button to leave when you are done.

Master Mode

Master Mode Czerka Core Meltdown is almost exactly the same as Veteran Czerka Core Meltdown, except for these differences:

  • The enemies are stronger and have more health
  • The first and second boss are the same
  • For the final boss, you will need to kill 7 cores, so make sure to use the teleporters by walking on them to get up to the Data Integration Points that are up high

Skips

What follows are a quick gallery of images depicting specific walking routes that may save you some time by avoiding enemies during the flashpoint – certain routes will be highlited as the main “community routes” that you’ll probably see players in random activity-finder groups try to do – if you only practice one skip out of all of these, make it the community one! All of the following images are done without stealth or without a sleep dart/mind maze from a stealth character, so anyone can attempt them. If you fail to slip by unnoticed or see your team has attacked the enemies – always pull back from these routes and go back to help them defeat them! These may save time if everyone does them, but nothing makes a flashpoint slower than running ahead and not helping others to get out of combat again.

Solo Stealth: If you are playing Czerka Core Meltdown alone and are on a Stealth character, or are with a full group of stealthers, you can skip many of the enemies and nothing will knock you out of stealth. You will need to do 2/3 blue terminals out of stealth at the beginning, but you can stand on the next over-ride terminal to avoid being detected while clicking it. I wasn’t able to figure out how to stealth the other terminals, but this Flashpoint is quite short because all the bosses are so close to each other, so I wouldn’t worry too much about it and not worry about stealthing them.

Skip #1

Upon starting Meltdown, keep in mind in the Green Habitat Zone you don’t need to fight any droids in the inner circle, as the objective to override security and move on to the bridge requires using info terminals on the outside ring. Just backtrack the other way after hitting your second terminal, attack droids at the 3rd, then continue along to the other side of the room.

Broken Floor Pipe

This isn’t a skip, but may not be obvious at first – when you get to the second long hallway, the floor is broken, so you need to jump up the boxes on the right to cross the pipes to move forward.

That’s all, folks!

Unfortunately (or luckily, depending on how you view skipping in flashpoints) there’s no real skips in the rest of the flashpoint once you get past the first bridge. All enemy packs are located at the intersections of every pathway you can take. Most you can hope for without stealth is a few patrols are in the right place at the right time to not need fighting – but on the plus side, there’s barely any trash in Czerka Meltdown, and even with obligatory fights, it doesn’t take too long.

Rewards

In addition to the usual rewards of XP, credits, gear and end-game currency, Czerka Core Meltdown has the following rewards available.

Czerka Data Core

The Czerka Data Core drops from Czerka Corporate Labs. I am unsure if this drops in any mode, but it most likely drops from the bosses. It can also be bought and sold on the GTN.
