Planetary story arcs are the main stories on the different planets in Star Wars: The Old Republic, that are not directly a part of your class story or expansion story. There is a different Planeetary Arc on Republic and Imperial side, and some of the planetary arcs have very interesting lore and stories. These types of quests are not required and you can usually come back and finish them at any time, but players who do them often complete them at the same time as they do their class quest on the planet.

Story Arc Questgivers

The Planetary Story Arc quest givers can be found by looking for an icon a yellow triangle with a green world symbol beside it. They are almost always located in or near the spaceport, or on the orbital station for that planet.

(In previous updates, these were plain yellow, then plain purple, and are now yellow with the green planet icon.)
Don’t Abandon Planetary Arc Quests

While most quests can be abandoned and re-picked-up later, the planetary quests sometimes get broken if you abandon any of the quests in their chain. For example, if you complete the first and second quest in the chain, but abandon the third, you may not be able to continue or re-pick them up. If you do abandon a planetary quest, you can sometimes visit the last quest giver you talked to and the quest will be there – but not always.
Early Planets

The earlier planets do not have planetary story arcs, to help new plyers not get overwhelmed by the number of quests. On the early planets, you’ll work on your main class story, and there are handfuls of exploratory quests and heroics you can find as well.
These planets do not have a planetary arc:
- Korriban
- Tython
- Ord Mantell
- Coruscant
- Dromund Kaas
