SWTOR Cademimu Flashpoint Guide

Cademimu is a Flashpoint in Star Wars: The Old Republic that you can run with friends, or with other random players through the groupfinder.

Note: This guide currently includes how to enter the Flashpoint in its different modes, but does not include any strategies for completing the Flashpoint or fighting the bosses.

Cademimu

Cademimu is in chaos. Under investigation by the Republic for numerous crimes against his people, the planetary Governor, Choranov, has declared the planet’s independence from the Republic and imposed martial law. Now Choranov has unleashed his private army to quell the civilian uprising. Even worse, the Governor’s army has taken control of a powerful Republic missile array, leaving the Celanon Spur trade route completely defenseless! With this vital trade route left defenseless, the Republic scrambles to assemble a strike team to head to Cademimu and retake the missile array. But they are not alone; the Empire sees the Cademimu uprising as a rare opportunity to expand their power. While the Republic hopes to reestablish control of their world, the Empire dispatches a team of their own to capture the missile stockpile and both Cademimu and the Celanon Spur under Imperial control.

How to Start

Cademimu is a Flashpoint meant to be played at almost any time during your levelling or story path, and isn’t a big part of the main story line. You can encounter it in the story part way through your class story, or play it outside of the story with a group in Veteran or Master mode.

Use the tabs above for instructions for how to enter the flashpoint in the story line, and how to enter it in Solo (Story) mode, Veteran mode, and Master mode by faction.

  • Story: No “story” version available.
  • Solo: No “solo” version available.
  • Veteran: Lvl 15-80
  • Veteran Groupfinder: Lvl 25-80
  • Master Mode: Lvl 50-80 †
  • Master Mode Groupfinder: Lvl 80

Story/Solo – Republic Instructions

Unfortunately, there is no story or solo version of the Cademimu Flashpoint. You can watch the very short introductory cutscene by yourself, but without a group, you likely won’t be able to finish the Flashpoint in any of its available modes.

Cademimu has a Veteran mode, which is designed for 4 players level 15-80. However, if you are higher level, and have a higher skill level, gear level, and companion influence level, you may be able to run the entire Flashpoint solo with some patience and practice. Otherwise, you will need to run this Flashpoint with a group you put together in general chat, or through the group finder.

To learn more about where to pick up the introductory quest to see the start of the story, or to learn how to run it through the groupfinder, see the other tabs.

How to see the Introductory Quest Solo

Step 1 – On the Republic Fleet, take the eastern elevator to the Dropship Launch Hangar level

Step 2 – Pick up the quest from the terminal on the Dropship Launch Hangar level

If you are level 80, it will give you the option to choose between Veteran and Master. If you are below level 80, you will automatically be given then Veteran mode quest.

You next options are:

  • head on inside the nearby colorful door for Cademimu and try to solo it even though it is designed for 4 players
  • put together a group in general chat to run Cademimu
  • try to run Cademimu through the group finder
  • drop the quest for now, and come back later with a group or when you are more confident that you can solo it

Veteran – Republic Instructions

Cademimu has a repeatable 4-player Veteran version. It is meant to be completed by a group with any type of Republic characters in it, you do not necessarily need a tank or healer to complete it. You will likely also have good luck with 2 players and 2 companions, or 3 players and 1 companion.

Group Finder: If you want to queue up and enter Cademimu in veteran mode through the group finder, you will need to be level 25-80 and not currently on any Cademimu Flashpoint quests or it won’t show up as an option in the group finder. If you are level 25-80, click the icon of “three little people” on the bottom right of your screen which will open the Activity Finder Window. Then choose the Group tab in the Activity Finder.

Filter: If you want to specifically run Cademimu and not a random Flashpoint, make sure to choose Veteran Flashpoints, then click the Filter button the right and narrow your choices down to just Cademimu before pressing Join Queue. Joining the queue will put you in line to be matched with random players to play Cademimu with.

Groupfinder flashpoints do NOT show the cutscenes. To see the cutscenes related to this Flashpoint, you must enter it manually by walking in the door.

Bring a Friend in the Groupfinder: You can queue up with a group of 2, 3, or 4 players in the group finder. If you have a full group of 4, it will bring you straight to the Flashpoint with your full group. If you have 2 or 3 players in your group, the group finder will match you with other random players until you have a full group – but you’ll always be paired with your friends who started off in your group, and will not be split up.

Veteran Manual Entry (Republic): To enter this Flashpoint manually, you must go to the Cademimu’s Flashpoint entrance, which is located on the Republic Fleet, and you need to take the eastern fleet elevator to the Dropship Launch Hangar level, and pick it up from a terminal. It will have a short cutscene to explain the story of the Flashpoint presented by Satele Shan.

Bring a Friend Manually: Veteran Mode Flashpoints are not meant to be completed alone, though highly-skilled, highly-geared, high-level players might be able to. To bring friends along for this Veteran Flashpoint, they’ll need to pick up the Veteran Mode quest from the terminal – or you can pick up the quest and share it with them, but they’ll still need to walk in the door manually. Characters walking in the door need to be level 15+.

Master – Republic Instructions

Master Mode is the hardest version of Cademimu. It is meant to be completed by a high-level high-skilled group at level 80. Most teams will want a Tank, Healer and two Damage characters.

Group Finder: If you want to queue up and enter Cademimu in Master Mode through the group finder, you will need to be level 80 and not currently on any Cademimu Flashpoint quests or it won’t show up as an option in the group finder. If you are level 80, click the icon of “three little people” on the bottom right of your screen which will open the Activity Finder Window. Then choose the Group tab in the Activity Finder.

Master Manual Entry (Republic): To enter this Flashpoint manually, you must go to the Cademimu’s Flashpoint entrance, which is located on the Republic Fleet at the eastern elevator to the Dropship Launch Hangar level.

Bring a Friend Manually: Master Mode Flashpoints are not meant to be completed alone, and are designed for level 80 players who are comfortable with their role and class. To bring friends along for this Master Flashpoint, they’ll need to pick up the Master Mode quest from the questgiver – or you can pick up the quest and share it with them, but they’ll still need to walk in the door manually while you’re in a group. Level 50-80 characters can technically enter Master Mode flashpoints, but all the enemies are level 80, and they will die very quickly.

Bosses

This Flashpoint has three boss fights – Officer Xander and EN-4C, Captain Grimyk the Wookiee, and General Ortol aka “I fought in the war you piece of trash!”

In Veteran Mode when you have multiple players you can use the medpacs scattered around the bosses. Right-click them to heal yourself.

The following boss info is mainly for Veteran mode – Master Mode tactics are not covered in this guide.

Officer Xander and EN-4C

This boss has some important mechanics.

First, focus on the Officer, and do not attack the droid. In Veteran mode, with a full group, the Officer will likely die so fast, that you never have to deal with the droid at all. But if you do…

When the droid wakes up, he will start chasing someone. If your name shows up in red text and you have a small blue circle under your feet, RUN AWAY FROM THE DROID. If he catches you, he will carbonite freeze you and you will be stunned.

If you get a big blue circle under your feet, move away from your team mates.

Solo: There are two ways to tackle this boss solo.

The first is to kill Officer quickly before he summons the droid – when the droid wakes up. If you can rain down damage on the Officer before that, you win the fight. Ideally, you would want to be on a damage character with a damage companion (I was unable to do this on my tank), and you would want to be well geared and know your rotation and abilities well to front-load your damage, and use Heroic Moment if you need it.

The second is perfect if you can not kill the boss that quickly. Start by putting your companion on passive – this will cause your companion to follow you. You can set your companion to passive by clicking the icon of a pair of crossed arms with a blue shirt near your companion’s portrait.

Instead, you start by attacking the Officer, and as soon as he starts casting, IMMEDIATELY run away to a point past the location where the trap for the droid will be. You need to start running as soon as the cast starts, otherwise when the droid wakes up he will stun you.

The location you need to run to is not marked in any way – you kind of just need to know it. It will be near the police speeder car – see below for where you can stand where the player is standing with their companion.

The idea is to get the droid when he wakes up to chase you, and he will run towards you, and accidentally run into the orange trap circle on the ground. When he does, he will be trapped, and you can go and take your time finish up the Officer boss! You can turn your companion’s passive mode off at this point by clicking the icon of cross arms again so they can help during the fight.

Captain Grimyk

If the Flamethrower is following you, stay still. If it is not following you, step out of it to avoid damage when possible.

The Ugnaughts can get flamethrower’ed, so feel free to bring them into the fire.

The Ugnaughts near the boss will die when the boss dies as his flamethrower tank explodes.

Solo: This one was not too hard for me solo – but you can’t use the healing stations sadly. You can try your companion on healer or damage – try healer if you are dying too fast. Just focus on the boss and let the flames kill the Ugnaughts.

General Ortol

When the red text pops up on the screen, look around, as a large portion of the floor is about to be set on fire.

The portions of the floor that have steam are the ones he is going to set on fire – so get out of them. There will always be at least one quarter of the room that will not have steam or fire.

When the floor lights up, and there is fire – get out of it.

Don’t forget to click the blue console at the end to finish up the Flashpoint after you finish the boss.

Solo: I was having a hard time on this fight when both me and my companion were damage players, but once I set my companion to healer, it took a long time to kill this boss but was much easier. A good trick for this fight for your healer is to have your healer companion be a melee companion as they will follow you around and the boss more closely.

Crew Skills

Security Gate – Scavenging

If you have Scavenging level 180, you can unlock the locked gate early in the Flashpoint by right-clicking the Security Gate. It allows you to bypass quite a few enemies.

Holding Cell – Slicing

If you have Slicing level 200, you can open the holding cells and free the Imprisoned Resistance Fighters. If you took the Scavenging route through the security gate, these are off the fastest path, so most groups skip them.

If you get him, he will fight along-side you for 10 minutes or until he dies. He does not know how to stealth.

Skips

What follows are a quick gallery of images depicting specific walking routes that may save you some time by avoiding enemies during the flashpoint – certain routes will be highlited as the main “community routes” that you’ll probably see players in random activity-finder groups try to do – if you only practice one skip out of all of these, make it the community one! All of the following images are done without stealth or without a sleep dart/mind maze from a stealth character, so anyone can attempt them. If you fail to slip by unnoticed or see your team has attacked the enemies – always pull back from these routes and go back to help them defeat them! These may save time if everyone does them, but nothing makes a flashpoint slower than running ahead and not helping others to get out of combat again.

Solo Stealth: If you are playing Cademimu alone and are on a Stealth character, or in a full group of stealthers, you can skip almost every enemy except the bosses. You can stealth all the way to the final logistics computer so you barely need to fight anything!

Security Gate – Scavenging

If you have Scavenging level 180, you can unlock the locked gate early in the Flashpoint by right-clicking the Security Gate. It allows you to bypass quite a few enemies.

Skip #1 – Community Skip

Right after coming down the big elevator, you can thread the needle between groups of enemies here to get to the far doorway’s social adjustment drone. Lots of people do this, and lots of people mess it up – to help you get the path right, I like to jump over these two railings in the image because jumping both kind of lines you up properly.

Skip #2 – Crewskill Skip

After running through the empty cantina and coming out of the tunnels, you’ll see a locked gate to your left as you progress. This can be opened by a SCAVENGER (not a slicer, as most doors are) with 180 skill minimum. Quite a few flashpoint runners will have this skill, so it’s worth stopping by the door to see if someone can before moving on. (If you can’t use this skip, note that the social adjustment drone floats around and can be easily passed by.)

Skip #3

Once the skip-door and regular path rejoin eachother, you’ll come to this doorway with crates on your right and enemies directly ahead – they make look pretty close, but you can skip these guys by just running to the crates and hugging the right-side wall as you go through the room. This leaves you to fight just one large pack at the door before boss #1.

Skip #4 – Crewskill Skip

Right after the first boss, you’ll head up a ramp to the taxis. If you have a slicer in your party with 200 skill or more, you can head left down to the end of the taxi docks, and slice the terminal for a different entry point to the next area. If you don’t have a slicer, you’ll talk to a regular taxi droid on the right.

Skip #5 – Advanced

This skip will go by at least 2 or 3 groups of enemies but it’s not easy. You need to step up onto the railing just beyond this Bioanalysis Crewskill interaction that gives you a temporary companion (on a ship dock just left of the main path) and leap from it down to this parked taxi way down below. You should take a ton of damage (only having maybe a percent left) but should survive.

Skip #6 – Community Skip

If you’re a rational human being and didn’t take Skip #5, you can still skip the last pack before Boss #2 by simply cutting this ramp short early and jumping over the side. Take care, you can fall between platforms and die if you don’t leap far. This one’s pretty commonly done.

Skip #7 – Community Skip

After the second boss, lots of groups will just run past all of the next enemies on the way to the elevator up ahead – once you’re on this elevator, once you go down it’ll break combat with the enemies chasing you. It’s good ettiquete to ask “skip?” before rushing off and doing this, but if you see someone doing so, follow them!

Skip #8 – Advanced

This skip isn’t as common as the previous, but a lot of teams these days will actually continue running after the elevator – hitting the interactable and just sprinting straight to the end of the flashpoint – of course, you’ll have to backtrack after this and fight the last two groups to interact with the missile control terminal, but by running all the way to the blue barrier, it will break combat with all of the enemies you ran past. Make sure to pop defensive abilities as you run.
