SWTOR Firefrost Uprising Guide

Firefrost is an Uprising in Star Wars: The Old Republic, and is like a short, story-light Flashpoint with three bosses and a few surprises including the ability to bring a desert pet along for the fight. Firefrost comes in three different difficulties: Story. Veteran, and Master, and is meant to be done with a group of four at level 70+.

If you are new to Uprisings, you may want to first visit the basic Uprisings Guide for tips about the quests to pick up before you go in. For the most part, you don’t really need a guide for Uprisings unless your group is struggling with a specific boss, especially in Master Mode. Uprisings are meant to be very accessible and short, fun, run-and-gun missions, and Firefrost is especially silly.

How to Start

All Uprisings start at the glowing blue table in the Combat Training section of the Republic or Imperial Fleet. You can also enter the Groupfinder for Veteran Mode, just keep in mind if you filter for just Firefrost, you won’t be eligible for the bonus groupfinder rewards for running a random Uprising.

Once you have picked up an Uprising, left-click the icon of a shuttle in your quest log to travel to the Uprising.

Difficulty Modes

  • Story Mode: Easiest mode, designed for four players but likely doable with 2 or more decent players in any roles and their companions.
    • Solo: I was not able to solo the first boss as a damage player as I was dying to damage and got frustrated, but was able to do it as a tank and finish the Uprising alone though it took a really long time. I was very well geared, level 80, and had a Rank 50 companion for both tries.
  • Veteran Mode: Middle difficulty but not that much harder, designed for four players but likely doable with 2 or more decent players in any roles and their companions
  • Master Mode: Quite difficult mode, most groups will need a full four players, including 1 healer, 1 tank and 2 damage players. Very competent groups might be able to do it with 3 players and one companion. Your team should be decently geared, understand their class and role, and be ready to do some mechanics and stay out of bad stuff on the ground.

Firefrost Power-Ups

While running Firefrost, keep you eyes open for glowing blue crates with powerups inside.

To open a crate, you can right-click it, then walk over the item it reveals.

Once you’re carrying a power-up, you’ll get a temporary ability to use it, and you can get up to one of each kind. These crates will be hidden throughout the Uprising.

PS – Firefrost has achievements for defeating lots of enemies with the different powerups.

Entrance

The beginning of Firefrost is many waves of enemies with no pause in between so make sure to look around and see if your group is fully loaded in and down the elevator before you start.

There are a bunch of smaller fights in this Uprising that are not technically bosses – have fun demolishing your way through them!

Boss 1: Refactored Battle Droid

Terminate really hurts and stuns you, save your defensive ability for it, it was hitting me for three quarters of my health and then stunned me.

The blue/white ice circles didn’t seem to hurt much.

Master Mode Tips

  • Not much different in Master Mode, just watch your feet and try not to be in the re circles when they explode.
  • There are no medpacs in Master Mode.

Shield Generators

Follow the quest markers to find the shield generators, and right-click the glowing blue buttons in the east and west. This will open the yellow door.

Boss 2: Forgemaster Droub and Walker

Forgemaster Droub is the final boss of Firefrost, with his walker JS-MW1.

When the walker is shielded, you can not hurt it, so attack the four turrets instead. When the turrets die, the Foregemaster will go repair them, leaving the walker unshielded.

When the Walker is dead, and you are fighting the Forgemaster, make sure to turn him away from the group with the orange cone if he is attacking you.

When the little droids die, they turn into angry red circles, so stay out of them.

Master Mode Tips

  • The Walker will put down blue ice circles in Master Mode, just stay out of them.
  • In Master Mode, when you are fighting just Droub, stay together to keep the adds together to take them down quicker.
  • Don’t focus your damage 100% on Droub – always kill the little enemies first, and you may want to give your healer a few seconds breathing room before you push him in to the next phase of summoning more tiny droids.
  • There are no medpacs in Master Mode.

To leave Firefrost, use the Exit Area button after the final boss is complete or right-click the nearby blue shuttle beacon.

Story & Lore

Theron Shan: “We’ve got trouble on Hoth. A group of White Maw pirates took over the Firefrost factory. A Houk named Droub is calling the shots.” They’ve been stockpiling old military equipment. Using forced labor to melt it down so they can build new ships and weapons. Droub’s the last guy you want with that kind of firepower. You better get in there and shut this down before it’s too late.”

Theron Shan: “Nice job, Commander. Droub and his crew were a threat to the whole sector. Not to mention all those workers you freed. Making the galaxy a safer place while liberating dozens of innocent victims: not bad for a day’s work. Just so you know-I’m sending a salvage team into the Firefrost factory. Gotta be something in there we can use for the Alliance.”
