Top 10 Jedi Consular Armors in SWTOR – Updated!

The Jedi Consular trains primarily in the ways of the Force – Consulars can subdue their targets using telekinetic powers, and more importantly, can stun and awe their enemies with their fashion sense.

In this list I’ll be going through my top ten favorite Jedi Consular armors in Star Wars: The Old Republic, and how to get them. Don’t forget that you can use the Outfitter to change the appearance of your armor without losing the stats of your equipment, so you can wear these humble consular sets without sacrificing any good armor you’ve picked up along the way. These armors are also not locked to Jedi characters – you can wear them on any type of character.

#10 Rodian Flame Force Expert Armor Set

Rodian Flame Force Expert Armor Set

When the Consular first came out, many of their armors were incredibly ornate and out-right fancy. The idea was that the Jedi Knight would defend the Republic with their combat prowess, and the Consular would combine their skills in diplomacy with their mastery of the Force to fight their battles, and would sometimes need an outfit that would fit in somewhere like the Senate on Coruscant or the royal halls of the houses of Alderaan.

The Rodian Flame Force Expert Armor Set is a great example of this – it’s a white set with curling emroidery and satiny fabric, that comes in a lot of colors – heads up the white doesn’t dye though. This version is a crafted set Synthweavers can craft at Synthweaving level 290, but the schematic can only be found through reverse engineering another crafted armor set. This set is wearable only by Republic characters, who are level 32 or higher on any Republic class, and you can likely fin it on the GTN.

Hoth Consular Armor Set

Hoth Consular Armor Set

If you’d like a gold version, the Hoth Consular Armor Set is fairly expensive at 200,000 credits per piece, but is really pretty and doesn’t require you to buy a metallic dye to be shiny! You can pick this up on Hoth from the Specialty vendor, and it doesn’t change the way it looks between factions.

Elegant Armor Set

Elegant Armor Set

If you like the white and gold, you’ve got another option if you are playing on a female character. The Elegant Armor Set is one of the few gender-locked outfits in the game, and can be picked up on the Fleet once you have Social Achievement Rank I.

Ottegan Force Expert Armor Set

Ottegan Force Expert Armor Set

When I said the Counselor had extravagant armor – I wasn’t joking! The  Ottegan Force Expert Armor Set is an east-to-craft set these days, but its design is from one of the original max-level end-game armors for the Consular, making it one of the defining looks for the Jedi Consular at the launch of the game… especially as we didn’t have the Outfitter system back then!

#9 Tau Idair Armor Set

Tau Idair Armor Set

While Jedi Knight armors tend to have more actual armor compared to sets designed for the Consular, that doesn’t mean you can’t equip some protection while going into battle! A large majority of the armors in the game are not restricted by class, so if you see any other armors in the game you like, you can likely make them work for your Consular.

The Tau Idair Armor Set is a set that’s great for a Consular – it has the half-robes for a really unique look, with a full set of armor underneath. It goes really well with any neutral colored dye, for players who want to go the opposite way of the fancy Jedi Consular robes. This is a Cartel Market set, so keep an eye on the GTN or any sales on the Cartel Market for it.

Conquered Exarch’s Meditation Armor Set

Conquered Exarch's Meditation Armor Set

Another really cool armored Consular set I’d love to show off is the Conquered Exarch’s Meditation Armor Set – it’s part of four armor sets whose designs were inspired by the Exarchs from Zakuul. The Consular version is the most interesting of the four to me, as it has the interesting double shoulder pads, the slimmest helmet, and the really fancy design on the flap on the front. This set is a fun one to earn and is legacy-bound – and is a special reward for running the once-per-character Heroic Star Fortress quests.

#8 Traditional Nylite Armor Set

Harbinger's / Battlelord's (Republic) Armor Set

If you like the idea of a formal shirt for your Consular but want a little more armor, there’s a whole bunch of options. The Harbinger’s / Battlelord’s (Republic) Armor Set is one of the sets I think is great for the Jedi Consular, but is unfortunately fairly hard to find these days on the GTN…

Traditional Nylite Armor Set

Traditional Nylite Armor Set

Luckily, for almost the exact same colors, the Traditional Nylite Armor Set is a crafted armor set that Synthweavers can craft at synthweaving level 140 if they have found the schematic for level 23+ characters. Be aware both of those will change looks when they swap factions over to Imperial.

Fitted Adarian Pleated MK-B Armor Set

Fitted Adarian Pleated MK-B / Fitted Ithorian Pleated MK-B Armor Set

A very similar set with an addition mantle is the Fitted Adarian Pleated MK-B / Fitted Ithorian Pleated MK-B Armor Set , which you can likely find on the GTN, is legacy-bound and won’t change appearances on the Imperial side!

#7 Devoted Disciple Armor Set

Devoted Disciple Armor Set

The Devoted Disciple Armor Set is so well liked by the developers that they decided to use a version of it for their official marketing of the newer story updates!

What’s really interesting about this set is that the hood is not attached to the armor – instead, the hood is the actual headpiece you can just not equip if you don’t want it – and the hood also comes with a “hair showing” and “hair not showing” version you can try out.

Don’t forget you can preview things from collections by clicking the items tab then CTRL+Left clicking them to see which option might work best! Since this is a Cartel item, keep your eyes on the GTN or the Cartel Market for this set. This set also dyes really nicely!

Refined Mentor Armor Set

Refined Mentor Armor Set

If you like the tabards on that set but would like a little more armor, the Refined Mentor Armor Set is a nicely padded set with some really nice cloth strips on both the front and the back.

#6 Voss Shadow Armor Set

Voss Shadow Armor Set

If you’d like to explore the idea of the Consular as being more of a diplomat or someone who delves into the mysteries of the Force, there are a bunch of interesting and intricate sets you can pick up. The Voss Shadow Armor Set is a really great example of this – at 1,750 Tech Fragments plus 250,000 Credit it isn’t cheap, but it’s got a really unique gold-beige-blue color pattern you can’t find any where else.

The downside of the Voss-style armor sets is their hood – but don’t forget you can hide it with this trick!

Voss Mystic Armor Set

Voss Mystic Armor Set

Another version of that voss set is the Voss Mystic Armor Set, but it does require Social Level V. These style of sets don’t dye great but are fun to play with especially with neutral colors – the yellow parts will not change color, so you need to incorporate them into the dye you choose.

Lucien Draay’s Armor Set

Lucien Draay's Armor Set

If you like the fancy-shirt style of those other armors but want a really lore-heavy Consular set,  Lucien Draay’s Armor Set is inspired by a Jedi from the Knights of the Old Republic comics (I love this story by the way! well worth a read from the library).

Fitted Ithorian Padded Armor Set

Fitted Ithorian Padded / Fitted Ithorian Layered MK-B Armor Set

The Fitted Ithorian Padded / Fitted Ithorian Layered MK-B Armor Set is where things start getting really interesting. This set used to be mostly unobtainable, but with the addition of the Fitted armors to the game, you can now likely find it on the GTN. While this set looks really drab by default, it dyes in an amazing way.

Fitted Ithorian Nerf-Herder’s / Fitted Ithorian Layered / Double-Soled Armor Set

Fitted Ithorian Nerf-Herder's / Fitted Ithorian Layered / Double-Soled Armor Set

The Fitted Ithorian Nerf-Herder’s / Fitted Ithorian Layered / Double-Soled Armor Set is a similar previously lost-to-time set that also can dye in fantastic ways for your Consular.

#5 Master Orr Armor Set

Master Orr Armor Set

The Master Orr Armor Set is based off a character from the newer SWTOR Trailers, and has some great mix and match pieces of the Archaeologist Consular, digging up Jedi artifacts in ruins. This is a Cartel Market set, so look for it on the GTN or Cartel Market – it’s often available there.

#4 Force Apprentice’s Armor Set

Force Apprentice's Armor Set

The Force Apprentice’s Armor Set is one of my favorite Consular-style sets – I think it works great for both a Padawan or a for a full-fledged Jedi Master. It has some really nice details including the unique twin back cape, the leather shoulderpads and harness, and detailed fabric texture.  I really like the blue-green-turquoise default color, and it also dyes really nicely! This is a Cartel Market set, so look for it on the GTN or Cartel Market – it’s often available there.

#3 Romex Force Expert’s Armor Set

Romex Force Expert's Armor Set

I know I showed you two Cartel sets in a row, but the Romex Force Expert’s Armor Set is a crafted set I really like. Its unique feature is the oversized scarf on the chestpiece, which I think works great for the wandering Consular, roaming the galaxy and explore the mysteries of the Force… just ditch the silly helmet. All Synthweavers can craft this at synthweaving level 570, but it does require level 66 to wear. You can likely find this on the GTN!

Zayne Carrick’s Armor Set

Zayne Carrick's Armor Set

If you like the oversized scarf, Zayne Carrick’s Armor Set is another really great Jedi set you can grab – this one is a Cartel set, so check the GTN, but I really like the buckles on the top of the scarf to keep it down for this set.

Vrook Lamar’s Armor Set

Vrook Lamar's Armor Set

If you’d like a scarf but want something simpler, Vrook Lamar’s Armor Set is a great pick. It’s a Cartel set, but is pretty common, so it shouldn’t be very expensive on the GTN.

#2 Steadfast Master Armor Set

Steadfast Master Armor Set

If you’re looking for a set of simple Jedi robes, the Steadfast Master Armor Set is by far the nicest set you can get – it has a really high-quality texture and dyes really nicely. It’s inspired by Obi’Wan’s basic Jedi robes, but since it is a Cartel item and loved by players, it will be quite expensive on the GTN or the Cartel Market.

I love this set for my Jedi Shadow, who works behind the scenes of the Jedi, fighting for the fate of the galaxy in the shadows.

Atris Armor Set

Atris Armor Set

If you want a less expensive version of simple Jedi robes, the Atris Armor Set is based off of the Jedi Librarian outfit from the movies, and also dyes really well – but will be a lot less expensive on the GTN or Cartel Market.

Omenbringer Armor Set

Omenbringer Armor Set

If you want a simple set of Consular robes and want to go even cheaper, the Omenbringer Armor Set is only 2,500 Credit per piece from the Adaptive vendor – and it has an awesome headband that hides hoods on all armors!

#1 Jedi Knight Revan Armor Set

Jedi Knight Revan Armor Set

This is one of my favorite sets in the game and works well for almost every Jedi or Sith class! The Jedi Knight Revan Armor Set is a highly detailed armor set that dyes really fantastically and is also great for mix and match. It’s based off of the light-side armors from Knights of the Old Republic, has a hood-up and hood-down version, loose pants or a skirt, and the glow on the mask changes color with the color of your color crystal.

While this set is really iconic as the highest-quality Revan set we have in the game, its versatility makes it my top pick for the #1 Jedi Consular armor set!

This is an updated version of my original list – and includes all kinds of interesting obscure armors I’ve discovered since then, and some of the newer sets that have been added to the game!
