The new difficulty toggles are now available on the Public Test Server! (PTS)

How to Play the PTS

If you are looking to test the new difficulty toggle, they are mainly looking for players to test characters a level 1 rather than 85.

SWTOR Difficulty Toggle for Class Stories being introduced with 8.0! Story, Veteran and Master Mode

Create your character, then right-click your character portrait to set your difficulty to Veteran or Master – ignore the rest of the steps and just start playing your class story from level 1! Feedback Thread

SWTOR 8.0 PTS (Public Test Server) First Round! How to PTS, First Boss of the Children of Nul Operation, Levle 85 Sentinel/Marauder, Vanguard/Powertech, and Sage/Sorcerer

As of August 20, we ask players to only check out Difficulty Modes on the starter and capital planets.

IMPORTANT NOTE: KotFE/KotET have not been re-balanced for Veteran or Master difficulties at this time. Reports from the Chapters are not currently valid, and the content will be far off target in terms of balance for both modes.

Questions

  • Please report what difficulty you were playing in.
  • For Veteran difficulty, our goal is to come close to how the game felt near our initial launch. If you played at that time or any time early in SWTOR’s history, did this difficulty feel appropriate? If you did not, did this feel appropriately challenging as a “medium” difficulty?
  • Our target for Expert difficulty is to challenge skilled players to use their full arsenal (including DCDs, throughput cooldowns, interrupts, and other utilities) as they progress through the game. When playing Master, were you challenged to understand and utilize your class’ abilities more thoroughly than in the live game? Does this feel appropriate as a “hard” difficulty?
  • Please report any enemies in class story phases, the overworld, or heroic mission phases that are unreasonably difficult. Include the mission name, your combat specialization, and your level when you attempted the encounter.
