Sometimes luck is more important than style, but it never hurts to have both. Stacking up their wardrobe as fast as they stack up credits, Smugglers only survive in this galaxy by being slick, sneaky and fashionable.

In this list I’ll be going through my top ten favorite smuggler armors in Star Wars: The Old Republic, and how to get them. While watching, don’t forget that you can use the Outfitter to change the appearance of your armor without losing the stats of your equipment, so you can wear these awesome smuggler sets without sacrificing any good armor you’ve picked up along the way. These armors are also not locked to just Smugglers – you can wear most of them on any type of character.

#10 Winter Outlaw Armor Set
The Winter Outlaw Armor Set isn’t a traditional set for the smuggler, but it works great as a casual jacket with lots of details. Putting a dark dye into the dye slot turns it from a snowsuit into something you might see on Port Nowhere. This is a cartel set, so you’ll be able to find it on either the Cartel Market or buy it on the GTN for credits.

Cartel Enforcer Armor Set
The Cartel Enforcer Armor Set is another puffy set you could use for your smuggler – it’s a PvP tokens armor set, and there’s a version with the glow and one without. It even has a cool built-in slick backpack, for carrying all your smuggled goods. To get this armor set, you would need to earn 6 PvP Seasons tokens by playing PvP during an active season.
#9 Xonolite Onslaught Armor Set
The Xonolite Onslaught Armor Set is a really uniquely colored crafted set. Dyes are really useful for changing the color of your armor, but there’s a bunch of sets out there that have color combinations you can never get with dyes. This Xonolite set is also easy to get – it’s a crafted set created by Armormech crafters at armormech level 190, so you can find someone to craft it for you or buy it on the GTN for credits.
Huttsbane’s Garments Armor Set
The Huttsbane’s Garments Armor Set is the more traditional color pattern for this set, in orange and green, and you’ll often see non-player-characters on Hutta wearing it. It’s a Cartel set, but make sure to check the GTN for this one, or you could also try the…
Tatooinian Smuggler Armor Set
Tatooinian Smuggler Armor Set , which is another color version of this scarfed set, and can be picked up from the Hoth Specialty vendor for 200,000 credits per piece.
#8 Blatant Bek Armor Set
The Blatant Bek Armor Set is a really well-liked set that you can earn from the Swoop Event reputation track. You can buy it once you’ve reached the Champion rank with the Blatant Beks during the reoccurring event, and once you’ve earned it, it’s legacy-bound and takes dyes really well.
Corellian Pilot’s Armor Set
The Corellian Pilot’s Armor Set is very similar in shape with a nice tan default color, but it’s a cartel item, so you can grab it form the Cartel Market or on the GTN for credits.
#7 Renowned Duelist Armor Set
The Renowned Duelist Armor Set is what I think of when it comes to outfits for the Gunslinger – it reminds me a lot of dusters that cowboys used to wear, the original gunslingers. This is a Cartel set, so check the Cartel Market or more likely the GTN, but there’s also the…
Remnant Underworld Smuggler Armor Set
Remnant Underworld Smuggler Armor Set , which is one of the many randomized sets that can come from running Heroics on a character at level 61 or higher. This long-coated set comes with a built-in bandolier, and a bullet belt for your.. uhm.. your blaster that shoots lasers.
Shrewd Rascal’s Armor Set
The Shrewd Rascal’s Armor Set is similar to the Renowned set if you are looking for something with a short jacket from the Cartel Market.
#6 Star Forager Armor Set
The Star Forager Armor Set is a fairly rare set – you can only get it by first completing the Seeker Droid quest, a long quest chain of its own, and then if you want to collect the pieces beyond the chestpiece, you need to go digging for treasure across four different planets and hope you get lucky when picking up the pieces. If you do find any pieces, they are legacy-bound, so you can share them between your characters.
Rugged Smuggling Armor Set
The Rugged Smuggling Armor Set is a very similar shape to the hard-to-get Star Forager set, but should be a bit easier to find. This is a crafted set that Armormechs can craft at armormech level 60 if they have found the schematic – but you can only wear it if you’re Scoundrel / Operative / Gunslinger / or Sniper.
#5 High Roller Armor Set
The High Roller Armor Set is on the opposite end of the smuggler spectrum, with scruffy nerf herder at one end, and opulent crime lord on the other. This fancy gold and black set is a prize from the Nightlife Event. During the event you can buy it with Golden Certificates piece-by-piece, or if you win the full boxed set, it can be bought and sold on the GTN for credits.
#4 Mysterious Rogue Armor Set
The Mysterious Rogue Armor Set is based off the character Jod from the Skeleton Crew TV Series.

What’s especially fun about this set is that it comes with a chestpiece version with the jacket on, or with it off and showing just the silken shirt.
Dashing Rogue Armor Set
The Dashing Rogue Armor Set has another flashy piece smugglers often use – this set is loosely inspired by Lando’s outfit in the Solo movie, but what players really like are the disco flare bell-bottom pants. Our raid group actually likes them so much they’ve become part of our team uniform.

#3 Bold Hellion’s Armor Set
The Bold Hellion’s Armor Set is part snake, part alligator, and all scallywag. This fun Mad Max style costume has a bikini, a scarf, and a cropped jacket perfect for causing chaos.
#2 Impulsive Adventurer Armor Set
The Impulsive Adventurer Armor Set is a lot closer to something Han Solo might wear, with a little vest, striped pants, a bandolier, and it has lots of nice little built-in details like the checkered scarf and belt pouches. The last four sets I’ve shown you are all cartel sets, from either the Cartel Market or the GTN, but if you’re a fan of this type of classic smuggler style, there’s a lot of sets in the game you can earn or craft for your smuggler.
RD-07A Spider Armor Set
The RD-07A Spider Armor Set is the absolute cheapest set you’ll find that embodies the spirit of the smuggler. You can find this vested set on the Adaptive Vendor on the supplies section of the Republic Fleet for only 2,500 Credits per piece, and it’s even legacy bound. Do me a favor and ditch the hat though, ok?
Canderous Ordo’s Armor Set
The Canderous Ordo’s Armor Set is a fan-favorite for smuggler vests, with a short cropped leather jacket and a simple black top underneath. This is a fairly common Cartel set, so you should be able to find it on the GTN for credits.
#1 War-Forged MK-0 Armor Set
The War-Forged MK-0 Armor Set is a really high-quality textured set that was added to the game’s crafting schematics during the Onslaught expansion, and the improvement in texture and graphics in the game is incredibly obvious when you compare it to the older crafted sets. This specific set can actually be crafted by both Armormechs and Synthweavers at crafting level 600+, and can be worn by players level 75 and higher.
War-Forged MK-2 Armor Set
Where it gets especially interesting is that if you keep reverse-engineering this set as a Synthweaver or Armormech, you can get different variations. While the original MK-0 version is my favorite, the War-Forged MK-2 Armor Set comes with the great little grenades attached to the chestpiece. (I have no idea why it has a space helmet.)
War-Forged MK-3 Armor Set
And if you keep reverse-engineering it, you get the War-Forged MK-3 Armor Set, with a whole different color pattern and a full armband of supplies. For all three of these sets, apart from the textured jacket, I love the tiny scarf and the partially-unbuckled belt, both things I think tie in great to the smuggler’s personality.
I hope you enjoyed this list of my top ten favorite smuggler armors in the game!
This is an updated version of my original list – and includes all kinds of interesting obscure armors I’ve discovered since then, and some of the newer sets that have been added to the game, but if you want to discover more armors, explore the original top ten list!
