Colicoid War Game is a Flashpoint in Star Wars: The Old Republic that you can play with friends – it has a weird history, and is different from every other Flashpoint in the game – it can only be entered at level 41+, can’t be easily solo’d, does not have a master mode, and isn’t in the groupfinder… and has a puzzle!
Note: This guide currently includes how to enter the Flashpoint, but does not include any strategies for completing the Flashpoint or fighting the bosses. This flashpoint is really, really not considered soloable, but technically can be done with a lot of know-how.

Colicoid War Game

The Colicoids are an insectoid species that specialize in the development and sale of weapons and technology. Throughout the war, the Colicoids have sold their wares to both sides, but now they wish to align themselves with one faction. To see which side is more deserving of their business, the Colicoids have constructed an advanced war game on a remote asteroid located somewhere in the Outer Rim. To gain the favor of the Colicoids and deny the enemy of valuable weaponry, both the Republic and the Empire have agreed to take part in the war game. Now both factions must send their most elite warriors to the asteroid, where they will battle against both the many traps that have been laid, and the Colicoids themselves.
How to Start
Colicoid War Game is a Flashpoint meant to be played at almost any time during your levelling or story path, and isn’t a big part of the main story line. You can encounter it in the story part way through your class story, or play it outside of the story with a group in Veteran or Master mode.

Use the tabs above for instructions for how to enter the flashpoint in the story line, and how to enter it in Solo (Story) mode, Veteran mode, and Master mode by faction.

Story/Solo – Republic Instructions
Unfortunately, there is no story or solo version of the Colicoid War Game Flashpoint. You can watch the very short introductory cutscene by yourself, but without a group, you likely won’t be able to finish the Flashpoint in any of its available modes.
Colicoid War Game has a Veteran mode, which is designed for 4 players level 41-80. However, if you are higher level, and have a higher skill level, gear level, and companion influence level, you may be able to run the entire Flashpoint solo with some patience and practice. Otherwise, you will need to run this Flashpoint with a group you put together in general chat – it isn’t even in the groupfinder.
How to see the Introductory Quest Solo
Step 1 – On the Republic Fleet, take the eastern elevator to the Dropship Launch Hangar level
Step 2 – Pick up the quest from the terminal on the Dropship Launch Hangar level
You next options are:
- head on inside the nearby colorful door for Colicoid War Game and try to solo it even though it is designed for 4 players
- put together a group in general chat to run Colicoid War Game
- drop the quest for now, and come back later with a group or when you are more confident that you can solo it

Veteran – Republic Instructions

Colicoid War Game has a repeatable 4-player Veteran version. It is meant to be completed by a group with any type of Republic characters in it, you do not necessarily need a tank or healer to complete it. You will likely also have good luck with 2 players and 2 companions, or 3 players and 1 companion.

Guide
Colidcoid War Game is a very non-traditional flashpoint – in fact, it only has a real boss to fight at the very end!
Skips? Groupfinder? There’s no skips in this flashpoint, and in fact you will never get this one on the activity finder because random groups are not usually well suited to complete puzzles. By following this guide, you may take your own group into Colicoid Wargames and complete it for the achievements if you’d like.
Soloable? This flashpoint is technically solo-able but it is not recommended. The beginning wave defense phase can be very difficult on your own, but it’s doable. The puzzle is completely unsolvable alone, but by utilizing knockbacks you can get around some of the barriers in an unintended way. I found a very old video of a player showing how to solo this flashpoint with these wild an not-recommended skips.
Part 1 – Turrets

The first thing you need to do in Colicoid is hop into these 4 plasma cannons. You must STAY PUT once you’ve interacted with and climbed into one. Pressing the keys that move you forward or back (or strafe) would be very bad because your character will slowly dismount and get out of the cannon. This takes about 4 seconds, and you’ll need to use the cannon to fight off waves of Colicoids for a few minutes. You can press your keybinds that TURN your character to aim the cannon, but I much more recommend simply right clicking with your mouse and aiming manually like that. There are two colors. Blue, and Green plasma cannons. They appear to be the exact same in performance.

There are 4 types of colicoids you’ll fight in this scenario. There are Swarmers, which are organic green little guys that run toward the nearest operational cannon. They die in about 2 shots. There are Drones, which shoot their own projectiles from about 30 meters away. These can be extra dangerous if you let them add up! My strategy is to aim mostly for drones until you get 3 or 4 swarmers entering melee range of you, then quickly cleaning those up and going back for either big clusters of colicoids or picking off specific drones.

Later on in the waves, you’ll see Silver-level Warriors. These are simply bigger Swarmers and take maybe 4 – 5 shots to take down. If you’re doing this in a group. try to help out your friends angles with these when you notice them. You can shoot through your friends cannon emplacement with no consquence, so if your slice of the pie looks clear of bugs for the moment, there’s no harm in swivelling to them and helping. What isn’t depicted here is the Colicoid Behemoths – they are champion level and take about 8 shots to take down. You never get more than 4 of these at a time. Be careful on the 2nd wave defence objective – you can complete it before all Behemoths die, and when you get out of the cannons you may not always be able to get back in. Make sure you stay inside until all colicoids are dealt with.
Part 2 – Puzzle (First Section)

Further into the flashpoint you’ll come to an area of branching paths and ray shielded gates that clearly make a big puzzle The blue interactable terminals will require a character to remain behind and continue channeling a typing action on it to “hold” gates open around the area. A quick note on the enemies in the area – Mk-2 and 3 Hazard Droids are mostly standard enemies with a few cleaves or stuns loaded, but the MK-X Hazard Droid comes equipped with a knockback attack and can respawn if you take too long in the area. Position yourself so you won’t be tossed in the lava while fighting him.
Solo? For Solo players, you must jump onto a railing, and then jump while being knocked back by the MK-X droid to pop yourself onto the sides of a gate you want to get around, in order to continue the flashpoint. It’s very tough to learn but it’s doable. I would do it from the left pole of the red gate in the image above. I found a very old video of a player showing how to solo this flashpoint.
2-3 players? This guide’s puzzle images assumes you have 4 players, so if you have 3 or less, be careful killing enemies you might need once you reach the puzzle boss – you’ll have to use your leaps to by pass some of these steps. We found it really hard to do even with just three, and wound up recruiting a fourth friend.

This is a top-down look at the terminals and gates viewed in image 5 above. They are named after the order you press them in.
Your first player will start channeling on 1, it will open the gate by 2, then your next player will go to 2 while player 1 stays typing on 1.
This opens the gate to 3 and 4, so the last two players will both go to these. If you want to break up early and fight all the enemies together, that’s probably recommended as certain players may be healers or tanks and will take longer to fight their droids by themselves. Then, go back and restart opening all the gates again.
Once you have gate 5 open, player 1 can leave their spot. This temporarily traps player 2, but that’s ok for now.
Once 5 is open, the player at position 4 can leave (so long as 2 is still typing on their terminal) and go to terminal 6.
Once terminal 6 is interacted with, ALL gates will permanently go down, and everyone is free to move on.
Part 3 – Puzzle (Second SEction)

After the first puzzle, you’ll ride an elevator up to a roundabout with two champion level droids on it. Fight them, and you’ll continue north to this second, much easier to understand puzzle.
The First terminal in the diagram just represents the one needed to bring down a red force field barring you from jumping down in the first place. You’ll all press it and immediately be allowed to jump down and move on.
Fight the droids along the puzzle as usual, and then leave players behind to interact with terminals 2 – 5 in order.
Note that puzzles like this can be done with as few as 2 people if you have abilities like phase walk or leaps/charges to the droids behind the barriers. This is not intended, but many players do this instead of recruiting a 4-person team to colicoid wargames.
Slicing Akk Dog

If anyone on your team has Slicing 325 or higher, right before the terminal where you choose a Dark/Light decision, and right before the final boss arena room, you can slice a glowing blue Containment Cell Console by right-clicking it. This will give that player a small Akk Dog to fight along-side them during the final fight of the Flashpoint!

Part 4 – Boss

Once you reach the final area of the Flashpoint, you’ll fight in the arena against three Arena Beasts (an Acklay and two giant Nexu) and then face down the Colicoid-shaped Annihilator 6K-A2 droid! There’s nothing you need to know about these bosses, just avoid any red circles on the ground and don’t forget to pick up your treasure chest of rewards at the end.

Rewards
In addition to the usual rewards of XP, credits, gear and end-game currency, Colicoid War Game has the following rewards available.

The Manned Blaster Turret decoration is a drop from Colicoid War Game.. but..
This decoration may or may not drop anymore.
A player named Dulfy said in 2014, Dropped off last boss 1st run. turret fires when you click it and that it was tradeable. Another player named Jelra said in the same year, Finally dropped off last boss (SM). 5-6 runs.
In 2017, a player named Sply said, I wonder if this thing still drops after 5.0/5.1.x… Did about 6 or 7 solo runs today. No Manned Turret.
Interestingly, in 2024, a developer in regards to “broken drops” replied to a player post on the official forums, “Thank you for calling out other potential drops that might be bugged (Illumination Probe Crate decoration from Blood Hunt and the Manned Blaster Turret decoration from Collicoid Games), we will keep an eye on these as well.”
Shoots a blue turret fire blast when you right-click it!

Dark / Light Choice
Right before the final fight, you and your group will speak with a computer terminal to register your team.
You use the console to update your status in the war game and register for the final challenge. However, it appears you are not the only applicants who have made it to the final round. By slicing into the security systems, you could take measures to sabotage the other team.
You can earn either 100 Dark Side or 100 Light Side points by making a choice about the competing team – if you are on the Republic side, they’ll be Imperials, and if you are Imperial-side, they will be a Republic team.
YOUR CHOICE DOES NOT AFFECT THE FLASHPOINT, it is just for fun and dark/light points.
- [Sabotage the competitors – Dark Side] – [You activate the security systems, dealing a heavy blow to your competitors’ chances.]
- [Leave the console – Light Side] – [You decide to play by the rules and give your competitors a fair chance.]
