SWTOR Inferno Uprising Guide

Inferno is an Uprising in Star Wars: The Old Republic, and is like a short, story-light Flashpoint with three bosses and a few surprises including the ability to bring a desert pet along for the fight. Inferno comes in three different difficulties: Story. Veteran, and Master, and is meant to be done with a group of four at level 70+.

If you are new to Uprisings, you may want to first visit the basic Uprisings Guide for tips about the quests to pick up before you go in. For the most part, you don’t really need a guide for Uprisings unless your group is struggling with a specific boss or you want to discover some secrets or achievements. Uprisings are meant to be very accessible and short, fun, run-and-gun missions.

⚠️ IMPORTANT GROUP NOTE! ⚠️ In the highest catwalks in the volcano, the last boss (Lord Zanisk and Lord Adacin) will lock players out of the fight if they are not close enough when the fight starts. Make sure your team is all the way in the door before running all the way up to the boss or attacking.

How to Start

All Uprisings start at the glowing blue table in the Combat Training section of the Republic or Imperial Fleet.

You can also enter the Groupfinder for Veteran Mode, just keep in mind if you filter for just Inferno, you won’t be eligible for the bonus groupfinder rewards for running a random Uprising.

Once you have picked up an Uprising, left-click the icon of a shuttle in your quest log to travel to the Uprising.

Difficulty Modes

  • Story Mode: Easiest mode, designed for four players but likely doable with 2 or more decent players in any roles and their companions.
    • Solo?: I was able to solo the first boss of this Uprising as a damage player with a lot of practice, great gear and a level 50 companion, but it’s really long. The second boss was way too frustrating and long for me to bother completing solo.
  • Veteran Mode: Middle difficulty but not that much harder, designed for four players but likely doable with 2 or more decent players in any roles and their companions
  • Master Mode: Quite difficult mode, most groups will need a full four players, including 1 healer, 1 tank and 2 damage players. Very competent groups might be able to do it with 3 players and one companion. Your team should be decently geared, understand their class and role, and be ready to do some mechanics and stay out of bad stuff on the ground.

Inferno Power-Ups

While running Inferno, keep you eyes open for glowing blue crates with powerups inside. There are TONS of crates in Inferno!

To open a crate, you can right-click it, then walk over the item it reveals.

Once you’re carrying a power-up, you’ll get a temporary ability to use it, and you can get up to one of each kind. These crates will be hidden throughout the Uprising.

Fight Your way to the Upper Levels

The Uprising starts with you just fighting your way forwards. The red door will not open until you defeat all the enemies that appear.

If you see any Sith Acolytes, defeat them first! They are healing the enemies.

Boss 1: Lord Wrad

For the Lord Wrad fight, whenever you see a Sith Acolyte, you will need to kill them first, as they heal and protect Lord Wrad. The Sith Acolytes can not be hurt while they are surrounded by a purple bubble, which will go away over time.

The Sith Adepts do damage, so you will also want to defeat them as they show up, as the second priority.

Lord Wrad is very slow, and if he is chasing you, you can technically just outrun him when he is moving slow, but he hits hard when he does catch you, so try and avoid him in general.

Boss 2: T4-9K Excavator

T4-9K Excavator puts down an oil slick which can be hard to avoid if you are melee – but it just reduces your accuracy, it doesn’t hurt you.

Flame Burst however really hurts, so do your best to avoid it.

There are medpacs nearby, but be careful, trying to drag him to the farthest ones will reset the fight and make you start form scratch, so do not bring him to them if he is chasing you.

Master Mode Tips

  • Master Mode adds a difficult mechanic – the boss will frequently summon Energizing Probes randomly around the room. Your group will need to work together to look for them and kill them quickly. They will have yellow names so you will not be able to tab target them until they are in combat, so you will need to manually click them or AoE them.
  • There are no medpacs in Master Mode.

To move forward, go to the yellow jump pad nearby.

Achievement – Observe and Report: Inferno

If you would like to earn the hidden achievement called Observe and Report: Inferno, the hidden agent sent to observe your performance during the Inferno uprising is hiding after the jump pad after the droid boss.

To find the Agent, use the jump pad after T4-9K, then turn left and look for a ramp-like structure behind some shipping crates. This will allow you to carefully walk along a rock ledge to the hidden Agent, who is hidden on top of a different ramp-like structure backwards near T4-9K high up.

To get the achievement, walk directly over the agent.

Boss 3: Lord Zanisk and Lord Adacin

⚠️ IMPORTANT GROUP NOTE! ⚠️ In the highest catwalks in the volcano, the last boss (Lord Zanisk and Lord Adacin) will lock players out of the fight if they are not close enough when the fight starts. Make sure your team is all the way in the door before running all the way up to the boss or attacking.

Lord Zanisk and Lord Adacin will take turns fighting you as the final boss. They have a soft enrage if you kill one before the other, so try and kill them at around the same time.

Master Mode Tips

  • Master Mode is mostly the same – just avoid the bad stuff on the ground.
  • There are no medpacs in Master Mode.

Story & Lore

Lana Beniko: “Alliance operatives have identified a major threat: a radicalized splinter group led by two powerful Sith Masters. We tracked Lord Adacin and Lord Zanisk to a fortified volcano base on Ord Mantell. None of our agents have been able to breach the perimeter. Adacin and Zanisk are ruthless, even by Sith standards. We need to eliminate this threat before it spreads to other worlds.”

Lord Zanisk: “We have a task for you, Lord Wrad.”
Lord Adacin: “Kill the intruders. Prove your strength.”

Lord Adacin: “I told you Lord Wrad was weak.”
Lord Zanisk: “Good help is hard to find. But at least now we’ve seen our enemies’ tactics.”
Lord Adacin: “If that’s all they can offer, they won’t pose much challenge.”

Lord Adacin: “Kneel before me!”
Lord Zanisk: “I will slice you in half!”
Lord Zanisk: “I am the bringer of death!”
Lord Adacin: “Now you will suffer!”
Lord Zanisk: “Anger. Hate. Victory!”
Lord Adacin: “You will beg for mercy!”
Lord Zanisk: “Too weak… Need healing.”
Lord Adacin: “Death is your only escape!”
Lord Zanisk: “No! I cannot fall… to you…”
Lord Adacin: “With my last breath, I curse your name…”

Lana Beniko: “Congratulations, Commander. You obliterated Adacin and Zanisk, crushing their uprising beneath the heel of the Alliance. A handful of followers survived your assault, but they pose little threat. When you killed their masters, you broke their will to fight. This victory sends a powerful message to the rest of the galaxy: any opposition will be dealt with swiftly, harshly, and without mercy.”
