The SWTOR developers have released the first taste of Classic Ventures on the public test server! A classic venture is locking a brand new level 1 character into the Veteran difficulty mode, and working on completing a large set of objectives over time on them in the veteran mode to earn unique rewards. Venture characters also have handful of special things that show up, like extra challenges as you fight, special venture enemies, speed boosts, treasure maps, and more.

We have a new wave of 8.0 content that you check out beginning today!
Venture: Classic
The first of the two new Ventures is now available for Classic Jedi Knight and Agent Origin Stories! Venture: Classic is intended to invoke the feeling of SWTOR when it initially launched 15 years ago, while providing more challenging and also new gameplay for players to experience.
Through character create, players will be given the option to create a Venture specific character that will be locked into a chosen difficulty:
- Classic = Veteran Difficulty
- Expert = Master Difficulty (available at a later time)
In order to make progress along the Venture, players will need to complete specific objectives. While playing as a Venture character, unique enemies, loot, consumables, and Venture currency will be available to assist and enhance your journey.
Examples of these are:
- New powerful grenades
- Challenges that, if completed, give you powerful temporary buffs
- Maps that, once activated, take you to a Ventures enemy that drops Ventures loot
- Limited-use items that give you access to Ventures-only Quick Travel points and speed boosts
- And more to be discovered…

How to PTS
If you aren’t already on the PTS, you can download it if you are a subscriber.
Testing Ventures
On the character create screen, choose the CLASSIC option (little diamond).

Create a JEDI KNIGHT or IMPERIAL AGENT for testing.

Then you can open your legacy, and select your character you made in Classic Ventures.

You can then see the objectives to complete!

What is different from a normal character?
- You are locked in to Veteran difficulty. This means:
- You gain XP a lot slower than the normal game. You will need to do side quests to keep up.
- You take more damage than the normal game. Grabbing multiple enemy groups at once, trying to fight higher level enemies, or trying to do heroics alone will result in your likely dying.
- There are special new items, bufs, and unlocks that you get as items as you kill enemies. These include:
- Damage buffs, health, shields, etc that modify your character for a set amount of time
- There are other types of items called Challenges. Your right-click the item, then try and complete a very difficult task related to fighting enemies.
- There are special glowing enemies. These drop those new types of venture-only items.
- You get special rewards unique to ventures.
What are the venture rewards?
These are still a secret! They are not on the PTS.

What are the special dropped items like?

These special gold enemies around the map drop special items including modifiers and challenges. The modifiers are a boost to you in combat. The challenges might be things like….

- You will take steadily increasing damage for the next 3 minutes. If you can defeat 15 enemies without succumbing to the damage, you will recieve the “Survivor” buff, which increases all healing you recieve by 20%!
- You will have 3 minutes to defeat 25 enemies. During this time, your critical chance is increased by 99%! If you can complete the task, you will recieve the “Killer” buff, which increases your critical chance by 10%
- You will have 5 minutes to defeat 5 enemies within 5 seconds of each other. During this time, all damage recieved will be increased by 100%. If you succeed, you will recieve the “Gladiator” buff, which decreases all damage taken by 10%!

The modifier gives you a mystery buff.

I also got this treasure locator which apparently puts a marker on your map but I died before figuring that out.
Tips
I tried it out, here are my quick tips!
- make a beeline to dynamic encounters as you see them, you need to do ten total on the first planet, but only 3 are every up at a time and then you need to wait for them to refresh on the half hour
- i woul recommend picking up every quest you see in the starter area and doing it or you will be too low level even just in veteran mode for the ater enemies
- man with the steel voice requires no combat :) dark side option
- the other herois were too hard for me even when i was at the same level as enemies, for example Hostage Sitatuion at level 6
- every half hour check for dynamic encounters in your level range / level area
What kinds of objectives are there?
These are a very jumbled list of the objectives currently visible on the test server. It’s things like explore certain areas, do ten dynamic encounters on the planet, kill x amount of specific enemies…

Feedback
Please answer the following questions:
- Did you encounter any Class Story Encounters that were wildly out of balance?
- Did you experience any blockers that prevented you from progressing the Venture?
- Please include as many relevant details as possible.
Known Issues as of 9/10/26
- CAUTION: BLOCKER! One-time, non-class missions (like some planetary arcs) that are required for the Venture can currently be completed before the stage they are required for. If you complete these missions before their required stage, you will be blocked.”
Combine final two points:
“No rewards (including Venture gear sets) are implemented and currency drop rate is not representative of final values.”
- The Unstable Shielding consumable doesn’t work properly and others are likely to have some minor functionality bugs.
- Not all planets are fully populated with Venture-specific speed paths, bind points, bosses, etc.., However, many of the early planets are.
- No rewards (including Venture gear sets) are implemented and currency drop rate is not representative of final values.
