Update on Inactive Character Names

As we head towards our 15 year anniversary, we are preparing the process of releasing inactive character names. Please read through all of the details below in their entirety to understand how you can keep your character name if it was impacted.

For players who are Subscribers on November 12, 2026:

• All of your character names will be preserved and none of them will be impacted

For players who have a F2P or Preferred account

If you have not logged into a character since January 1, 2026, that character name will be released into an unreserved pool and can potentially be claimed by another player on November 12th. 

• If you would like to keep your character name, you must log into the game before November 12, 2026.
• If you want to keep every character name, you must log in with every character before the date above.

If you are a player who loses their claim on a character name:

• When you log into that character again, you will receive an opportunity to rename your character for free.

If you are a player who wants to claim a released name:

• You can create a new character
• You can purchase the Rename: Character Name Consumable item and rename an existing character
• For one week following November 12th, this item will be 90% off

Ways to Subscribe

If you are currently not a Subscriber, there are two new SWTOR bundles that are now available and both include fixed subscription time. Either bundle will not only help you secure your character names but will also get you the new Meirm Cicada GT mount as well. If you are already Subscriber, the fixed subscription time will simply be added on to your account.
