Master Mode Relentless Replication Propagator Core XR-53 Guide

Relentless Replication is a single-boss operation, sometimes known as a lair boss, and in Update 7.7, its most difficult version, Master Mode, was released. Players are most interested in this boss due to its ability to drop the new gold level 80 augment schematics, and of course, for the challenge and achievements.

Master Mode Relentless Replication is very difficult. All players need to be ready to deal with both Nightmare Mode mechanics, and Nightmare Mode levels of dps checks. The boss has a very set timer of 10 minutes and 20 seconds, and you need to be ahead of your damage checks even before you hit the first set of special role-specific droids. I have not cleared this boss. This is just a simple set of notes I took while our team was trying it.

If you would like to watch a clear, see <clean>’s world first recording.

Roles

  • The world-first teams I think did 5 DPS, 1 Healer, 2 Tanks.
  • However, another team did it the standard composition, 2 Tanks, 2 Healers, 4 DPS, but the tanks wore DPS gear.
  • This is due to the heavy dps check.
  • Our team was trying with a standard composition of 2 full tanks, 2 healers, and 4 dps.

Differences

The biggest differences in Master Mode are:

  • The boss has way more health.
  • ALL the green splat circles are HUGE.
  • You need two different roles in the orange circle shield during Prime Directive, not just 1. (Healer/Tank/DPS)
  • Much later in the fight, your group will get a Collection Droid, who will pick up the acid from the floor.
  • Keep him vaguely in the center of the room.

Mechanics

Good luck!

Extraneous Expulsion

Extraneous Expulsion is the large red rectangle that moves with the tank it is on.

VERY IMPORTANT:

  • The boss will drop a large green circle on the player who is within the red rectangle who is also closest to him.
  • If your team is fighting in the center of the room, ideally the tank who currently has the boss will RUN to the edge of the room with the red rectangle to drop the green splat circle on the edge of the room.
  • Unfortunately, if any other players get in the red rectangle near the boss, it will drop the big green circle there.
  • So team needs to be very aware to stay out of the red rectangle.

Our team is still learning how to make sure our team mates can stay out of the red rectangle when we need to rotate the boss to run… desync not properly reporting the position of the tank isn’t helping.

Imperfect Construct

The Imperfect Constructs are the little droids.

When their timer runs out, they explode, leaving a big green splat circle on the ground.

Deciding which ones to kill and which ones to ignore is a big part of this fight.

For our team so far, we have been fighting in the center of the room, and only killing the ones that are near / directly on top of us so there is no green circle in the center of the room.

Acidic Rocketry

There are TWO differenct types of smaller red circles on the ground.

Acidic Rocketry only leaves small red circles behind, it does NOT leave the big green splat circles – so you don’t need to position it, just step out of it.

Hunting Grounds for 1 Player

The mediumish red circles are called Hunting Grounds and will leave behind a big green splat.

They target the player who is farthest – so your team will assign someone to bait them.

Our team is still working on this, but currently has a gunslinger with long range taking them to the edge of the room, or at last at their max distance from the boss as they can be. The hard part is they may also need to come in to cleanse their stacks during Hungering Bite.

Lethal Strike for Tanks

Tanks should be taking the Lethal Strikes and use defensives.

Extraneous Expulsion and its red rectangle is often shortly after Lethal Strike, but not always.

Hungering Bite

Same as Veteran Mode, your team should use the yellow rectangle to clear their stacks.

Prey Seeker

Same as Veteran Mode, your team should focus heavily on killing Seeker Droids when they show up. If you are in the center together, this is a little easier to do.

Prime Directive

Prime Directive is the big orange circle shield. In Master Mode it requires two different roles, and two droids will show up.

  • Supplicant Construct (interrupt heal, ignore Shriek)
  • Rampaging Construct
  • Defender Construct

Collection Droid

This happens later in the fight. Our team hasn’t gotten this far yet, haha.

The Collection Droid is following you around, gathering up Acidic Pools from the floor. You are immune to Acidic Pools while it is still following you, but it won’t last forever.

Rewards

The new mount is the top half of XR-53, called the Replication Throne, and has a fun orange-blue mount flourish animation. It will have bad-luck prevention on its drop.

Gold Augments

New Gold Augments, which make your gear stronger, are being added for level 80 players. I’ve got all the info about how to craft the new gold augments on the crafting augments guide.

  • You can only get the schematics from Master Mode XR-53 or the GTN from other players. (UPDATE: The developers changed their minds and now, “Schematics for Superior Augment 86 can be obtained by deconstructing crafted Advanced Augment 86 at a 20% Research chance.”)
  • The Corrupted Bioprocessor materials will now drop more frequently from Master Mode.
  • These augments are only meant for players who or can afford the best of the best. They are not required for any content.
