SWTOR Patch Notes – Update 7.8a

Wreckage on Dantooine Dynamic Encounters

• The Spore-Coated Mass, Ejected Sludge Container, and Supercooled Crystalline Shard interactables in the Dantooine Crash Site now despawn and respawn as intended.
• The Orbital Core now gives progress towards the mission “[WEEKLY] Priority Targets”.
• The Orbital Core weekly mission can now be repeated three times a week.
• [Wreckage on Dantooine] Corrected an issue that prevented the [Glacial Encounters] and [Cold, Hard Data] missions from being granted correctly if certain biome crossover encounters were active.
• Dynamic Encounters on Dantooine now give progress towards the mission “[WEEKLY] The Shifting Tides”.
• [Caretaker Unit K-6] Fixed an issue where the Caretaker K-6 droid could be defeated without completing the event.
• [Glacial Trespass Biome] The Security Terminal conversation now advances the biome’s progress as intended.
• [The Cryonest Matron] Decreased the boss’ health and the increased the respawn time on the minions to balance the difficulty of the encounter.
• [Gelid Tendrils] The Tendrils can now be defeated and the encounter advances as intended.
• Dynamic Encounters
• Timers are now shown in the tooltip when hovering over a Dynamic Encounter icon on the World Map as intended.

Items

• Fixed an issue where the Contained Spore Bomb wasn’t applying vulnerability properly.
• The Greb Besrik Holo Decoration can now be unlocked.

Missions

• [Galactic Threads Crit Path] Fixed an issue that caused missions to be granted repeatedly or not be granted at all.
  • Hotfix was deployed on December 9, 2025
• [Dark Heart of the Fortress] Darth Nul’s Datacron now appears properly throughout the mission.
• [Dark Heart of the Fortress] Lana Beniko now only appears once during the cinematic.
• [On the Run] French client only. Characters’ lips and voiced dialogue are now synced during this scene.

Operations

• [R4-Anomaly] Corrected an issue that caused IP-CPT to activate Disproportionate Intrusion Response while invulnerable.

Class Balance Changes

• Hunter Killer Droid/Advanced Recon Droid cooldown increased from 20s to 45s, Range decreased from 30m to 10m, AoE size decreased from 6m to 5m.
• Hunter Killer Droid/Advanced Recon Droid no longer gives an unintended 30% AoE damage reduction and now properly gives 30% damage reduction while stunned.
