The old Twi’lek tradition of combining their child’s given and family name can be seen on some Twi’leks in Star Wars: The Old Republic, though many others have a more standard name, and even two siblings in the same family might not even follow the same naming style. Many Twi’leks in the Old Republic era do not have a last name at all.

Twi'lek Naming Rules

The old Twi’lek tradition of combining their child's given and family name can be seen on some Twi'leks in the Old Republic era, though many others have a more standard name, and even two siblings in the same family might not even follow the same naming style. Many Twi'leks in the Old Republic era do not have a last name at all. The most well-known Twi'lek name in the Old Republic era are Vette, Mission Vao, and Eleena Daru.

For this Twi'lek Name generator, these are the rules that I have used to generate names:

• Name Length: 5-8 letters for single names, 4-5 for first names and 3-8 for last names - Twi'lek last names can be very short at only three letters on a regulr basis
• First & Last Name: Only about 25% of Twi'leks have a known last name
• Apostrophes: Apostrophes are fairly common in Twi'lek names, wtih 25% of names having at least one apostophe, example Nic'ala, Teer'aa and Liv'trai
• Dashes: Very uncommon in Twi'lek names, though they do show up, example Saol-sar and Dya-Tamm
• Starting Letters: Only start with letters in the canon names list (N and S are the most common)
• Other Letters: Generated based on how often letter combinations show up in the canon names list.
• Double Vowels:Fairly common to see names with double vowels like ee, uu and oo at about 20% of names having them - Eleena, Guunta, Beejinz
• Consonants: Not a Twi'lek rule, but no more than two consonants at a time, so names like Andreaus and Yacommsa will not show up, though Twi'lek names with three consecutive consonants are uncommon, this is just a technical limitation.

Twi'lek Canon Names

These are names of existing Twi'lek characters in Star Wars: The Old Republic and in other Star Wars media. These names likely can't be used in the character creator as they may be restricted, but you can use them as inspiration for your Twi'lek, and this is the list I use to pull information from for my Twi'lek name generator.
