Galactic Seasons 1 Guide

THIS IS THE GUIDE FOR SEASON 1 WHICH IS OVER. SEASON 2 AND FORWARD IS QUITE DIFFERENT. SEE THE CURRENT SEASON GUIDE!

  To open the Galactic Seasons menu, roll over the icon of a person in the main menu, and choose Login & Seasons Rewards from the dropdown menu. There are two tabs on this window, make sure to select Galactic Seasons at the top.

In the Galactic Season panel, you can see what level you are at near the top left. You start off at level 0, and can go all the way up to level 100. To gain a level in Galactic Seasons, you need to gain 8 Galactic Seasons points, which you can earn by completing objectives.

The points value, which starts at 0 / 800 on the top left, is how many points you have so far for the total season, which is eight hundred points if you want to earn all 100 levels.

On the top right is your progress on completing two dailies per day and two dailies per week. You can click these buttons to easily see what objectives are currently available to you.

At the bottom is the calendar and reward track. Free-to-play and preferred players get only the rewards on the top track, will subscribers get the rewards on both tracks. Tracking your progress to the next level is a bit strange – you need eight points per level, but the progress bar is not the most useful – in the example above, I’ve unlocked level 1, and I am 7/8ths through the bar to level two, so I need 1 more point to unlock level 2. The easiest way to check your progress if you are good at math is just to check your point total at the top left – levels are in multiples of eight, so at 15/16 I know I’m only one point away from my next level.

  When you click your Priority Objectives button, it will open the Conquest panel, where your four available Priority Objectives, shortened to PO on the list, will show up on the left as two Weekly PO’s and two Daily PO’s. You can click each objective to learn more about how to complete it. Conquest is a separate but similar system than Galactic Seasons, but they chose to group them together on the same panel, so you don’t need to worry about the rest of the Conquest Objectives on the list or the information on the top right which is only about Conquest.

  When you click on an objective, you can see your progress on the right side of the panel, it will often say something like 0/75 enemies defeated or 0/1 matches played. To track this more easily, especially objectives that require defeating enemies, click the “Untracked” checkbox, and if you don’t see it show up on the bottom right of your screen, you can click the symbol of a trophy near your minimap to have your tracked objectives and achievements be visible as you play.

If you do not like your objectives, you can refresh your daily objectives once per day, and refresh your weekly objectives once per week. There’s no warning when you click this button or explanation of what it does, but it will give you a different random objective from the available objective pool.

How many points can I get per day / week?

You can complete two daily objectives a day, and two weekly objectives per week. Daily Objectives will grant you 3 points each as a subscriber, or only 2 points each if you are free-to-play or preferred. Weekly objectives will earn you 12 points each as a subscriber, or 8 points each as a free-to-pay or preferred player. In addition to completing objectives, you can also earn points just by logging in throughout the week – logging in four days in a week will net you an extra 8 points a week as a subscriber, or 4 points as a free-to-play or preferred player. This means as a subscriber you can earn a maximum of 74 points per week total, and free-to-play and preferred players can earn 48 points per week total. Since each level requires 8 points, you can get about nine level per week as a subscriber, or six as a free-to-play or preferred player.

On the first day you play Galactic Seasons as a subscriber, if you grind it, you can get the two dailies and two weeklies done, for a total of 30 points or three levels worth of points. As a free-to-play or preferred player, you could get 20 points in the first day. So yes, you can get the new companion on the first day you play Galactic Seasons no matter what type of account you are playing on!

To reach level 100, as a subscriber you could do it in about ten weeks, of a total of twenty weeks available in the 5-month-long season, so you would need to complete roughly half the objectives.

To reach level 100, as a free-to-play or preferred player, you still need the same 800 points total, but you earn them a lot slower. You can earn 48 points max per week if you did every objective, so you could reach that 800 points at around week 17 and there is only 20 weeks available.

Keep in mind, if you start late, it’s ok – you can start now, and unlock what you missed out on near the end with cartel coins or credits whether you are a subscriber or preferred. However we don’t know the exact mechanics of unlock with CREDITS yet.

Why do I feel I keep getting the objectives every day?

Each week, the objectives pull a random objective from a small pool of objectives. There is about eight different daily objectives and four different weekly objectives in each pool. So when you receive two weekly objectives, you’ve already seen half of all the available options, and some of the options are repeated across multiple weeks or are very similar – for example this week might request that you do Alderaan heroics, while next week might request Balmorra heroics. The pools run in a cycle, so if you really really hate hits week’s objectives, just wait until you see tomorrow’s random objectives in the same pool, and then wait until next week which should have a whole new random pool to choose from.

What do I do if I don’t like my objectives for today or this week?

You can refresh a daily objective once a day, and refresh a weekly objective once a week. So pick the one you like list of your two displayed. To refresh an objective, use the tiny circling refresh button on the top right of the objective’s information.
