Galactic Season 8: Research and Destruction Quest Guide

The new Galactic Season, as always, comes with a new minor storyline that adds some flavor and unlocks some rewards. In Season 8, the Research and Destruction mission seems to be revolving around Uprisings, and some experimental weapons that have been added to them.

How to Start

To begin the missions, you must grab the unlock from your Galactic Season track. It’s sitting on level 1 and is on the free portion of the track, so anyone can do this. Level 1 requires 8 points worth of season objectives – doing any of the weekly objectives will get you there. Make sure to claim the item on the character you want to do the little quest on. It will become an item in your inventory.

Right-clicking the item to use it will give you a holocommunicator call on your user interface. Left click the yellow chat button to start the conversation.

The conversation is in the form of a Comlink conversation – it is like a text message, with a character named Kai Zykenn, a returning minor character. It is just a bit of flavor text.

The quest will ask you to run an Uprising.

The quest will reward you with three Czerka Experimental Combat Enhancers.

You can use these in Uprisings.

Deleted Communicator?

If you accidentally deleted or lost your quest item there are two ways to recover it. The first way is through Collections. After you have claimed the [“Galactic Season 8: Research and Destruction” Unlock] item on any of your characters, on any server, it will become available in your collections. The character who originally claimed it can get a free copy from collections. Any other character (or if you forgot what character you picked it up on) can also get copies – but you need to pay 80 Cartel Coins, and then it will be unlocked for your entire account on all servers, and all your  characters will be able to get unlimited free copies of the quest.

There is not other way to get a second copy or play it on another character except through collections.

Is there anything else to this quest?

Nothing that we know of. This season’s story was incredibly short.
