SWTOR Galactic Seasons, Season 8 (Rising Powers – March 11 – July 28, 2025)

Galactic Seasons in Star Wars: The Old Republic, similar to a ‘battle pass’ in other games, allows you to complete daily and weekly objectives to earn rewards over the course of five months. Galactic Seasons is available to both free-to-play players and subscribers at no additional cost, with subscribers having an additional reward track to gain cosmetic rewards from. In addition, you will gain tokens which you can spend at a vendor to buy previously-retired items and access to a new stronghold.

On the track during the season, you would get an item called Czerka Experimental Combat Enhancer. It is an optional item to use in Uprisings and part of the achievement.

Galactic Seasons, Season 8 is called Rising Powers, and is focused around Uprisings and uniquely changes the special abilities in Uprisings. The previously-retired Dark vs Light system bosses also returned for a second season as objectives, along with Dark and Light tokens which can be used to buy cosmetic rewards. The rewards this season were themed around Coruscant, Dromund Kaas, and Andor.

Dark vs Light bosses are extremely strong world bosses that you are expected to fight with an organized group of 8 to 16 people. They have different types of tactics, and can wipe your group quite easily, so you need to work together and have enough players not die to actually defeat these special bosses. These rewards are available on the vendor for Free-to-Play and Preferred players immediately. When the season ends, all the rewards listed above will be available for all players until the beginning of the next season, giving Subscribers the opportunity to purchase the rewards they are missing – so if you are a subscriber, you won’t see and accidentally buy the ones you might earn in the future. You will see the unique ones or any that you can get multiple copies of, like decorations.

Season 8 Achievements

There are some special limited-time achievements for Season 8. The overall meta achievement is a bit different this season and there is nothing you need to “collect” – instead you need to fight Dark vs Light bosses and use the experimental weapons.

If you are an achievement hunter, your goals would include completing all of these tasks:

• Complete 100 weekly season objectives (out of a possible 140) during the season (Reward – Legacy Title: Successful Experiment)
• Reach Rank 100 on the Galactic Seasons track during the season
• And these two unique tasks:
  • Eliminate Targets affected by the side effects of the Czerka Experimental Combat Enhancer x250 (TIPS/GUIDE)
  • Defeat each Dark side/Light side World Boss once during this Season

If you did manage to do all three of these during the season you will complete the meta achievement and receive the Appearance Option: Regal Senator Hairstyle, a unique hairstyle. This three-part achievement is way above and beyond what Seasons is expecting you to normally do, and is mainly a meta achievement for players who are playing efficiently 2-3 days or more per week. If you plan to do this objective, you’ll likely want to do a minimum of 1 dark vs light bosses per week, but I recommend doing as many as you can that way you don’t have to rush at the end – but in the final week, all bosses will technically be available which is a nice addition.

Galactic Season 8: There is a flat cost of 80 Cartel Coins for each collection unlock. This means once you unlock any of the items in collections the first time in Galactic Seasons, you can pay 80 CC for copies on other servers or other characters.
