Is every dark Jedi a Sith?

This was the discussion one night on the Republic fleet’s general chat. The general consensus was, yes, every dark Jedi had to be a Sith. That night I created this character, to prove otherwise. Not every dark Jedi has to be a Sith. So here’s her story; decide for yourself:

Caédés’ father was a fameous Jedi Knight during the time of the war with the Empire. He caused a lot of trouble to the Sith forces during the war, and so they decided to get rid of him… somewhere other than the battlefield. Long story short, they found him when he was with his family and killed him and his wife. Caédés, who was only 5 years old at that time, witnessed something no other child ever should; getting her parents killed.

From there, the Jedi took her in, and trained her. But dispite all the help she was getting during her childhood, she never managed to recover from that trauma. Every night she was having nightmares and every night she was helplessly watching her parents getting killed by the Sith.

She was very aggressive, never really had any friends, and as the years passed things got even worse. Her years as a young Padawan were very difficult and all she was thinking of was avenging her parents. And in time, she got obsessed with this tought. Her wound deepened instead of getting healed and her hatred grew. Her masters considered removing her from the Jedi Academy many times, but her powerful connection to the Force and her skills with a lightsaber always managed to convince them to keep her in the Order.

When she landed on Tython at the age of 21 (beginning of vanilla story), she knew she was powerful enough to start hunting the Sith. One at a time if needed be; she swore an oath never to stop until all Sith were dead. Her hatred was the only thing that kept her alive and unknowingly she fell deeper and deeper to the dark side of the Force with each passing day.

She rose the ranks quickly and her final mission to get rid of the Emperor’s Children was a huge success. After this period she was assigned to a mission on Makeb where she met Chancellor Saresh. Caédés quickly became a strong supporter of Saresh and her harsh politics against the Empire, and has been assigned to many missions by her.

After the events on Ziost, where almost all of the Sixth Line organization has been killed, Saresh offered her to lead the new Sixth Line and Caédés accepted this offer without even thinking. But before she started working as the new leader of Sixth line, the events that led to KotFE and KotET happened.

During her time fighting the Zakuul, she turned her attention (and her hatred) towards Arcann and later to Vaylin. After dealing with those two, she declared herself the Empress and later sided with the Republic to destroy the Sith Empire once and for all. At this point, her parents’ murder was just a memory in the distant past. She forgot long ago why she was fighting. And without the restraints of the Jedi Order, which were at least keeping her in line, all she was after now was the total annihilation of the Sith Order. And there was nothing she wouldn’t do to achieve that.
