SWTOR Red Lightsaber Crystals

Traditionally, in Old Republic lore, only Sith use red lightsaber crystals. Red color crystals were almost always synthetically created, as a way to quickly produce color crystals for Sith legions or as a way to avoid the Jedi protecting existing crystal sources. 

Notable Old Republic red lightsaber wielders include Darth Malgus, Darth Revan and Darth Malak.

A Jedi is not restricted to a single color. Rather, that color is a badge of pride for the Jedi Path it signifies. There are lots of options when it comes to red crystals in Star Wars: The Old Republic. The traditional red color crystal is called Advanced Red Color Crystal with variations in naming by the crystal's stats.
