SWTOR Dromund Kaas Dynamic Encounters Guide

Dynamic Encounters are scheduled, timed quests on different planets in Star Wars: The Old Republic. This guide goes over all the Dynamic Encounters on Dromund Kaas! 

Rewards

There’s a bunch of different rewards you can get from Dromund Kaas Dynamic Encounters.

All Encounters

All encounters give credits and experience.

At level 80, these quests also give 50 Tech Fragments and 3 Conquest Commendations, which are used for end-game gear or to earn credits or cosmetic items.

Kaas Leisure Cruiser

Completing all of the encounters at least once and completing 75 Dromund Kaas Dynamic Encounters total will earn you an achievement and a unique mount called the Kaas Leisure Cruiser. You can check your progress in your Achievements in the section Dynamic Encounters → Dromund Kaas → Mastery.

Once you have earned this achievement, you can get the mount on your other characters by going into the achievement panel and right-clicking it, which will add it to your mounts list if you have speeder piloting (it will not give you an item in your inventory).

Broadcast Tower decoration – random drop.

Monkey Lizard Cage decoration – random drop.

Tri-tip Mining Drill decoration – random drop.

Ancient Kaas Sarcophagus – from the Sacrificed in Vain achievement – Defeat the Fully Empowered Ritual Master. (from Ritual Killing encounter)

Dromund Kaas Encounters

Here are all the encounters you can find on Dromund Kaas. Dromund Kaas can be visited by any characters on the Imperial side – Republic players can not fly or get to Dromund Kaas.

Spy Den Sweep

Description: A band of SIS agents has set up a temporary encampment on Dromund Kaas to conduct espionage operations. Destroy them!

Steps:

Assault of the Possessed: Outpost Warden

Description: The possessed workers from the Dark Temple Approach are attempting to breach Outpost Warden. Don’t let them through!

Step 1:

ACHIEVEMENT: Echoes in Stone

Purging The Cursed

Description: The possessed workers are attempting to excavate something. Don’t let them complete their operation!

Steps:

Dark Omens

Description: There are ominous signs of unrest stirring around the Temple Approach. Perhaps a bit of violence would have a calming effect on these shades?

Ritual Killing

Description: A group of treacherous Sith apprentices have been entranced by Nil Venerous’ whispers, and are attempting to complete a forbidden ritual.

Achievement  – Sacrificed in Vain

Sacrificed in Vain – Defeat the Fully Empowered Ritual Master. (Ritual Killing encounter reward)  Rewards: Ancient Kaas Sarcophagus

I’m not exactly sure what causes this achievement vs just doing the quest.

Venerated Relics

Description: The whispers of Nil Venerous grow louder as you enter the Dark Temple. Investigate and put an end to this threat.

Step 1:

• 0/30 Defeat Enemies While Empowered by Nil Venerous

These are the normal enemies in the area. They will have a special buff that looks like this.

Step 2:

Karric Soic

Description: A Jedi has infiltrated Lord Grathan’s Estate! Even Lord Grathan shouldn’t have to suffer a Jedi on the loose!

Power Stolen

Description: A rogue scientist within Lord Grathan’s estate has poisoned his colleagues and stolen Sith research to sell to the Republic.

Step 1:

• 0/5 Find and Administer Antidote to Poisoned Scientists

Right-click the blue glowing antidote palletes.

This will give you a temporary ability. Select a Poisoned Scientist, walk near them, and then you can give them the antidote with your temporary ability.

Description: The survivors revealed the stolen data was schematics for advanced war droid overrides. Use them against Grathan!

Lord Grathan’s Assault: The Wall

Description: Lord Grathan’s forces have launched a coordinated assault on The Wall. Drive them back!

Droid Assult: Kaas City

Description: Rogue construction droids are mounting an assault on Kaas City! Drive them back!

Step 1:

• 0/30 Repel the Droid Assault

You can right-click the glowing blue crates for a free grenade.

Select an enemy then you can use the EMP grenade to stun droids.

Achievement – Stunning Display: Use EMP Grenades to stun attacking droids. ((I did not test this on the public test server, but I think you need to use the grenade 50 times on droids.))

Hard Target

Description: A notorious bounty hunter has recently escaped in Kaas City after injuring several imperial troopers, and must be tracked down before he can leave the planet.

Step 1:

• Request an Imperial Tracking Droid

Go near the Imperial Troopers and a temporary ability bar will show up. Click the icon of a droid on a purple background. This will give you the droid.

Step 2:

• 0/5 Gather Data from Imperial Droids

When you go near a droid, select it, then use your green temporary ability to Transfer Data.

Step 3:

• 0/3 Triangulate Unregistered Transponder Data

There are three points on the map nearby in the city. Walk to them, and when you get close enough to the map marker, a temporary ability will appear.

I believe that after this step, it’s a bit random how many enemies you need to go investigate before you find the actual Bounty Hunter.

Step 5:

Defeat the Sketchy Stims Merchant

Power to Truth

Description: Rebellious Imperial citizens have begun spreading seditious propaganda within Kaas City. Shut down their illegal broadcasts!

Rogue Droid Uprising

Description: Malfunctioning droids near the Expansion have gone rogue. Recover their data chips for further analysis.

Achievement – Speedy Systems Specialist: When it becomes available, interact with the Data Chip Analyzer within 15 seconds during the Dynamic Encounter “Rogue Droid Uprising.” ((I tried testing this on the public test server, but I don’t think it was added properly yet and did not work.))

Sith Affairs

BUG/ISSUE: When I tried to do this on the live server, it had gotten stuck and wouldn’t progress.

Description: A violent power struggle between two Sith Lords has erupted into open combat in the Sith Sanctum.

Step 1:

• Intervene in the Dispute (do the other four objectives)
• Defeat Rix Kilis
• Defeat Cadan Keeg
• Defeat Tylo Orum
• Defeat Arlen Drax

Step 2:

Bad Monkey!

Description: A shipment of monkey-lizards from Rishi have escaped. Capture them before they cause any more damage!

Steps:

Start by getting a net from a container.

The select a monekylizard and go close and click the net abiliry.

Achievement – Monkey Business Maintenance: Repair 50 pieces of equipment during the Dynamic Encounter “Bad Monkey.” ((I did not test this on the Public Test Server. I assume you have to do this before you get to Step 2 – so don’t catch monkeys, just repair.))

Monolithic Mistake

Description: A malfunctioning construction droid at the Unfinished Colossus has begun rampaging through the worksite and is attacking the workers.

Powder Keg

Description: Republic agents, with the assistance of the workers-in-rebellion, are attempting to destroy the Colossus using Empire munitions!

• Disarm Imperial Ordnance

Description: Something has agitated the native wildlife and driven them into a violent frenzy. Don’t let them breach the Spaceport!

Kubaz Incursion

Description: A group of Kubaz infiltrators has established an outpost deep in the Dromund Kaas wilderness who are scavenging Imperial technology and disrupting supply routes.

• Find and Defeat the Kubaz Leader

Spire Consequences

Description: Wildlife around the lightning-spire outside Kaas City have been showing some… strange effects from long-term exposure to the device. Investigate the disturbance, and collect samples for study.

Steps:

• Acquire Lightning Charged Samples (do the other four steps)
• 0/5 Lightning-Charged Gundark Samples
• 0/5 Lightning-Charged Vine Cat Samples
• 0/5 Lightning-Charged Sleen Samples
• 0/5 Lightning-Charged Yozusk  Samples

The enemies you need to fight will have lighting around their body and this buff near their character portrait.

Description: Electrically-charged predators are attacking the Research Camp! Defend the site and repel the mutated creatures.
