Top 10 Jedi Knight Favorite Armors in SWTOR

A symbol of hope in dark times, the Jedi Knight stands for the legacy of the Jedi Order – more than twenty-thousand years of protecting the Republic and keeping the peace across the galaxy in style. Through years of disciplined training and meditation, the Jedi Knight hones body and fashion into perfect harmony.

In this list I’ll be going through my top ten favorite Jedi Knight armors in Star Wars: The Old Republic, and how to get them. Don’t forget that you can use the Outfitter to change the appearance of your armor without losing the stats of your equipment, so you can wear these humble consular sets without sacrificing any good armor you’ve picked up along the way. These armors are also not locked to Jedi characters – you can wear them on any type of character.

One important thing to know about making an outfit for your Jedi Knight is that of all the classes, Jedi Knight players tended to have the biggest variety of types of outfits they chose for their Knight – there was no specific look, color, or type of armor that really defined how players liked to dress their Knights. Here’s the main steps to making a good Jedi Knight set:

  1. Equip a cool chest piece
  2. Slap a lightsaber in your Knight’s hand
  3. Send them off to war!

#10 Simple Jedi Robes

Obi’Wan Kenobi is the quintessential Jedi Knight – and if simple Jedi Robes are good enough for him, they’re good enough for you too. For a very long time, the game really didn’t have a good set of simple Jedi Robes…

Steadfast Master Armor Set

Steadfast Master Armor Set

…but now there’s a really fantastic set called the Steadfast Master Armor Set. It’s a Cartel Market set, and usually quite expensive, but it has a really nice high-quality texture, and is really similar to the tunic and tabards worn by Jedi in the movies.

This set also takes dyes really well, if you’d prefer a set of dark brown or black Jedi robes.

Relnex’s Armor Set

Relnex's Armor Set

The Relnex’s Armor Set is probably the next closest thing we’ve got to simple Jedi robes in the game, and usually isn’t too hard to find on the GTN.

Battleborn Armor Set

Battleborn Armor Set

But if you want to go even cheaper, the Battleborn Armor Set is very inexpensive, and easy to pick up at the Adaptive vendor on the Republic Fleet for only 2,500 credits per piece.

#9 Onderonian Armor Set

Onderonian (Gold) Armor Set

While simple Jedi robes are a classic look for the Jedi Order in the movies, the old Republic era is set 3,000 years in the past, and many of the armor sets of both the Jedi and their allies tended to be a lot more ornate during the game’s timespan. The Onderonian Armor Set is about as far as you can get from cloth robes – it’s a solid gold armor set with dark blue silk tabards, intricate designs on the chestpiece, and metal scales on the gloves. This legacy-bound set can be picked up from the Spoils of War vendor on the fleet for Tech Fragments at level 75 or higher.

On the vendor, it will show up as randomized pieces, but this is what actually comes out of the boxes.

Onderon Guardian Armor Set

Onderon Guardian Armor Set

If you liked the other gold set, you might like this one as well – the Onderon Guardian Armor Set is very similar in design, but is a Cartel set, so you can find it on the GTN or Cartel Market. This set incorporates more leather into its design, making it a bit more battle-focused than the previous set which was designed for the ornamental royal guards on Onderon.

Fitted Dantoonian Assault Armor Set

Fitted Dantoonian Assault Armor Set

If you like the combination of leather and metal for your Jedi Knight, the Fitted Dantoonian Assault Armor Set is an uncommonly seen legacy-bound set that shouldn’t be too hard to find on the GTN.

Ossus Explorer Armor Set

Ossus Explorer Armor Set

And if you like leather buckles for your Jedi Knight, the Ossus Explorer Armor Set is a set you can earn through the Ossus Reputation track once you reach Champion level. Players really like the legacy-bound belt from this set, which mixes and matches well with many of the other Jedi Knight sets.

#8 Defiant Asylum MK-16 Armor Set

Defiant Asylum MK-16 (Synthweaving) Armor Set

The Defiant Asylum MK-16 (Synthweaving) Armor Set is great for Jedi Knights who want some armoring, but don’t want to be bogged down by robes. The bright gold chestpiece fits in well with the other golden sets, but isn’t as gaudy as some of the earlier ones we looked at. If you like this set, you can either craft it yourself at Synthweaving 500, or buy it from the GTN. Just a heads up, it has the exact same name as the armormech version which looks different, so make sure you’re buying or crafting the right one.

#7 Distinguished Warrior’s Armor Set

Distinguished Warrior's Armor Set

The Distinguished Warrior’s Armor Set is is one of the many ancient-armor inspired sets in the game, and is a really detailed set players really like. It seems to takes dyes quite well, and even has an ancient symbol of the light-side on the back, which represents Ashla, one of the two moons of Tython, and the light side of the Force.

#6 Defiant Asylum MK-26 Armor Set

Defiant Asylum MK-26 (Synthweaving) (Republic) Armor Set

Do you remember the defiant set from earlier? If you reverse-engineer it after crafting it as a Synthweaver, you have a chance of learning the uncommon Defiant Asylum MK-26 armor set schematic! This really nice simple set has partially-hidden Republic symbol peeking out from under its lowered hood, and is a perfect set for a Jedi Knight who doesn’t want to wear armor. If you can’t craft it yourself, it may be hard to find on the GTN – try finding another player who is a Synthweaver to reverse-engineer the other set and craft it for you.

Elegant Duelist’s Armor Set

Elegant Duelist's Armor Set

If you want your Jedi Knight to be unhindered, or undercover, I really like the Elegant Duelist’s Armor Set. This is a simple set with a very similar shape to the MK-26 set, but has no shoulderpads and has a black/brown color combo.

Zayne Carrick’s Armor Set

Zayne Carrick's Armor Set

If you like the buckles shoulder harness straps from the other two sets, Zayne Carrick’s Armor Set has a similar look, and is actually worn by a Jedi Padawan on the run in the Knights of the Old Republic comics.

Fitted Outlander Vigilant Armor Set

Fitted Outlander Vigilant Armor Set

And if you liked that scarf, the Fitted Outlander Vigilant Armor Set has some similar colors, and was originally designed as one of the sets the player might pick up while exploring Zakuul as fugitive from the Eternal Empire.

Skirmishing Surveyor Armor Set

Skirmishing Surveyor Armor Set

While not specifically for the Jedi Knight, I did want to show off one more set that might suit a character who is working hard – the Skirmishing Surveyor Armor Set is also one of the few sets that widens your silhouette without also being heavy armor, and has some really high-quality textures when you’re zoomed in.

The Skirmishing Surveyor set seems to drop randomly as pieces from enemies in the Dantooine Biome areas. It does not seem to drop from a specific enemy or area. The entire set can be bought and sold on the GTN but it does require Newcomer Rank to actually put on and wear. They were fairly cheap on the GTN and I had the belt drop from a random little enemy during an encounter in the Geothermal area. Binds to Legacy on Equip.

#5 Shadowsilk Aegis Armor Set

Shadowsilk Aegis / Cyrene Aegis Armor Set

The Shadowsilk Aegis Armor Set is what I’d consider one of the most classic low-level  Jedi Knight sets, and there’s a good chance you’ll pick a version of this armor as you make your way through Tython. This set looks different on male and female characters – female characters will have their midriff and arms revealed, while male characters will have extra wrappings with ancient Jedi runes stamped on them. Either way, this set is built for movement – it fits close to the body, and is meant to stay out of the way as the Jedi Knight solves problems with aggressive negotiations. This specific color is crafted by synthweavers, and usually not too hard to find on the GTN.

#4 Fitted Dantoonian Battle Armor Set

Fitted Dantoonian Battle / Fitted Kuati Battle Armor Set

Bringing together the best of both worlds when it comes to ornate golden armor and simple Jedi robes, the Fitted Dantoonian Battle Armor Set is a really unique teal-blue color with a beautiful golden belt fit for a Jedi Knight of the Old Republic era. There are a bunch of different versions and colors of this set, and this blue-green version can usually be found on the GTN.

Hoth Knight Armor Set

Hoth Knight Armor Set

Another version is the brown-and-gold Hoth Knight Armor Set which you can pick up from the Specialty vendor on Hoth for 200,000 credits per piece.

Force Champion Armor Set

Force Champion Armor Set

If you like that shape but aren’t a fan of the shiny metal armor or dark cloth, the Force Champion Armor Set is a legacy-bound set you can get from the S3T-BNS vendor on the Fleet for Tech Fragments and Credits.

Resilient Polyplast Armor Set

Resilient Polyplast Armor Set

The Resilient Polyplast Armor Set is a bit similar in shape but is a crafted set, with with silver metal peeks through and glowing aqua blue highlights on the armor.

Corellian Knight Armor Set

Corellian Jedi Knight - Corellian Battler / Corellian Protector Armor Set

If you’d like a lighter colored set or can’t find that on the GTN, the Corellian Knight Armor Set is also on the Specialty Vendor on Corellia for 200,000 Credits per piece.

Don’t forget that you can hide these hoods using any of the hood-hiding circlets in the game, with the least expensive being the legacy-bound Omenbringer’s Headgear you can pick up from the Adaptive vendor for only 2,500 Credits.

#3 Expatriate’s Armor Set

Expatriate's Armor Set

The Expatriate’s Armor Set is inspired by the outfit worn by Ahsoka in the live-action TV Series, and is a great pick for the Jedi Knight who is skilled in martial combat. The back is open to allow lightsaber wielders the maximum range of movement, and there are a lot of nice details on the set like the arm wraps and laced belt.

#2 Remnant Underworld Knight Armor Set

Remnant Underworld Knight (Hoodless) Armor Set

The Remnant Underworld Knight Armor Set is one of the most sought-out Jedi Knight outfits in the game, and due to the randomized factor when it comes to getting it, players often spend weeks or months trying to track it down from heroic box rewards. This set is so well-liked that the developers made both a hood-up and hood-down version, and even used it as the armor their player character wore in the marketing for the Knights of the Fallen Empire expansion. It also has one of the few sets in the game with a built-in Republic symbol on the shoulder and belt.

Zakuul Knight-Captain’s Armor Set

Zakuul Knight-Captain's Armor Set

The Zakuul Knight-Captain’s Armor Set is a nice alternative for plastoid armor with with cloth robes, and it’s probably pretty easy to find on the GTN for credits.

#1 Valiant Jedi Armor Set

Valiant Jedi Armor Set

The Valiant Jedi Armor Set is the most classic armor set for the Jedi Knight, and was worn by the first Jedi Knight we got to see in the trailers before the game released. While Jedi Master Ven Zallow didn’t make it past the first Deceived trailer, his iconic armor set the tone for the battle-hardened Jedi of the Old Republic for well over a decade.  His specific gold-and-brown version is most like the Valiant Jedi armor set in the game which is a Cartel set you can find either on the Cartel or on the GTN for credits, but there is actually a bunch of different versions and colors of it out there.

Jedi Stormguard Armor Set

Jedi Stormguard Armor Set

The coolest is probably the Jedi Stormguard Armor Set. This set has the same shape, but can be gotten very cheaply for only 2,500 credits per piece from the Adaptive vendor in the Supplies section of the Republic Fleet, so you can easily grab the one of the most iconic looks in the game after you’ve completed your first planet.

I hope you enjoyed this list going over my top ten favorite Jedi Knight armors in Star Wars: The Old Republic!

This is an updated version of my original list – and includes all kinds of interesting obscure armors I’ve discovered since then, and some of the newer sets that have been added to the game, but if you want to discover more armors, explore the original top ten!
