A little bit of background story:
Once there was a Chiss Sith Lord, who rose to power among the Sith very fast due to his incredible skills on the battleground, and who -unlike almost all Sith Lords- was using a big two handed sword instead of a lightsaber (which he acquired after killing a powerful Cathar warlord). But while rising to power, this Chiss Sith Lord also made some very powerful enemies among the Sith, and at the end one of them managed to kill him.
His wife, knowing what awaits her after her husband’s death, fled the Imperial space together with her son and landed on Coruscant. There, in exchange of intel, she was offered protection from the Sith.
Her son, just as powerful in the ways of the Force as her husband, joined the Jedi Order shortly after they arrived on Coruscant, and became one of the very few Chiss members of the Order. This son was called Ertai-jnr.

One night on Odessen, Ertai-jnr’s father appeared to him through the Force and told him the location of his tomb where his lost sword and his battle armor were present as well. He told him that to defeat Arcann, he must be willing to go beyond the teachings of the Jedi and everything he was tought until that day.
After finding the tomb, Ertai-jnr wielded his father’s sword and wore his father’s heavy armor. The immense power of an old Sith Lord quickly surrounded him. Now he was truely ready to face Arcann and his forces.
