In 3673 BBY, as the Great galactic war raged. One sith, Lord Larem landed on Aldeeran. A planet were war between the Republic and Empire raged, with Jedi Satele Shan leading the Organa-Republic forces and Darth Malgus leading a group of sith, with Thul and Imperial support.
Lord Larem saw the war, he saw Imperials and sith die at the hands of the Republic, he saw a Jedi attack and destroy an entire battalion of Imperial troops. Not only was he angry, but he quickly realized that this would not work in a long term.

The Empire, which was still young, could not afford to lose so many troops. They needed to defeat the republic, kill the Jedi and obliterate the corrupt senate.
But they would never happen as long as these long stalemates where fought.
As a Sith Lord there was only so much he could do. Instead of trying to convince or fight the Dark council, he did what he did best. He thought.

And he remembered an old text left on Korriban by Ajunta Pall, founder of the Sith Order. The Text described a ritual that strengthen the flesh, which made the user immune to pain, it effectively created super soldiers. But it sorely lacked details, and Larem didn’t know what to do. But it had sparked his interest and he started researching the subject.

He traveled the galaxy, searching for other texts mentioning this ancient ritual, he teamed up with some of the sharpest minds in the galaxy to figure out what this ritual could possibly entail. And then finally, he realized.
This was not a ritual using the force or the dark side. What was described on the various texts was a direct modification to the person him or herself.
Luckily for Larem, those scientists he had teamed up with earlier were as curious as he was. They started studying on how they could possibly change people’s natural attributes. And then, almost exactly 4 years after he started the search, they found it.
It had no name, since they had effectively created it. But Larem named it “Rex-modificare”.
They went to the Dark Council, showing their discoveries, and they told them how they could create super soldiers that could turn the tide of the war on several planets just by being there.
They got themselves a budget and started working. They created a machine, they would scan the subject’s genetic code.
The machine would identify specific genes, like the ones responsible for muscle growth or length and then with a combination of Dark side magic and science they would modify the attributes of this gene.
It made the subjects, faster, stronger, gave them more endurance. They could also effectively turn of pain by removing the gene string that responded to what we understand is painful.
There was only one downside, scanning through a person’s genetic code, finding specific genes and modifying them is not cheap.
Quite the opposite, doing it to 25 people would cost as much as a Harrower-class dreadnought. To take that in perspective, A Harrower-class dreadnought is 800 meters (2624ft) long, had a crew of 2400 and costed 10 years’ output of a major mining colony!
These modifications were not cheap, but they did it. Say what you will about the Empire, but they are willing to try new tactics.

And on the 18th of May 3667 BBY, the first “Rex-modificare” soldier exited the headquarters on Dromund Kaas. Her name was Adrianne, she was a captain the Imperial guard. But from now on she was simply known as Colonel. Colonel Leopardia. They had modified the muscle growth in her legs, meaning that she could run twice as fast, twice as long and jump twice as high. They had also modified the genes responsible for lung tissue. They had made them expand much more, other than the obvious results, like even more increased endurance, this meant she could hold her breath for 10-15 minutes, which is very useful if you are firing on long ranges, since the breathing interferes with the stability of the weapon.

Soon other soldiers would leave, 27 females and 23 males to be exact. All of them were captains or higher rank in their respective regiments and battalions. Some of them were Ace fighter pilots. Some of them were Chiss Guerrilla fighters. Some were regular soldiers.

They were deployed on planets were the Empire were losing, and many of them were responsible for decisive victories by themselves.
During the sacking of Coruscant, 3 Rex Soldiers were there working in a group. And they engaged and took out 2 Jedi masters, 11 padawans and 9 Jedi Knights. At once.

Their list of victories and heroic actions second that of the Emperors wrath itself. Among other there participated in the legendary battles of Hill 57, The Battle of Lokust and the retreat of Juhanil. All of which Leopardia participated in.

On the 12th of April, Leopardia was called in to Hoth with 5 more Rex Soldiers. A Jedi master had just landed on Hoth with 12000 Republic troops with the intention to force the Empire of Hoth and end the stalemate.
Leopardia and her squad were dropped down on the main Imperial base, where they met up with General Hyrsten, the Imperial forces consisted of a total of 11,000 men, whilst the Republic army’s numbers were approaching 20,000. Understandably General Hyrsten didn’t want to attack the republic army when outnumbered this hugely, so he marched north, away from the Republic base of operations, in order to find more recruits and train those he already had. Amongst other things he looked to recruit some Talz Tribes.
But as he left the Imperial base, he realized it would be completely unguarded once he left. So he sent a small group of 50 soldiers, including Leopardia and her squad, to do guerrilla attacks on t republic army and slow them down. The plan was that the 50 men would slow down the Jedi master and his army long enough that General Hyrsten could assemble more soldiers. But this distraction would be far more successful than anyone had hoped. Because in 5 days those 50 soldiers would engage and destroy the entire right flank of the Jedi master, which consisted of 7000 men mind you. The Jedi master would be outflanked, he panicked and surrendered. To 50 men.
But I’m getting ahead of myself.
Leopardia, her squad and the other 44 soldiers immediately marched to a hill they had scouted, it was very steep meaning it was hard to attack, and it was in the centre-right of the republic forces, meaning that it would effectively hold back the entire Republic Right flank if they didn’t attack. So they marched there, set up a small camp, built a crude trench at the top of the hill and mounted some heavy blasters there. All was quiet and calm, as it usually is before the storm. And then one morning they saw fighters, about 15 of them, fly above them. A few minutes later they saw some scouts arrive a few hundred meters away on speeders. And then 2 hours later they started the see the full army. 2 Battalions, 6000 Republic troops were marching towards them.
49 soldiers on the top of the hill looked down on the republic army in horror. Leading them was Colonel Leopardia, who looked down on them with a big grin on her face. Next thing they know artillery fire started raining down. They ran for the cover of their primitive trenches, and when the rain of death ended they remerged. Now they saw another 2000 republic troops standing on an adjacent hill on the east. And as the look to the west they saw scouts, an unknown number of enemy troops were there too.
Leopardia almost died as a result of lack of oxygen because she laughed so much. One of the soldiers that followed her, who was not a Rex Soldier, walke
