After following in his brother’s footsteps as a young smuggler, Lared was presumed dead to the galaxy when his ship was destroyed. In reality, he was taken to be trained by Imperial Intelligence for a grueling three years of his life. At the age of 17, he was handed his first real mission on the planet Hutta. With any mention of his real name now erased entirely, he henceforth went by the name Cipher Nine.

Today, tired of being a tool for the Sith and with the Black Codex’s assistance in erasing his identity altogether, he acts from the sidelines as a free agent of the Empire. Even the news of his brother becoming Emperor of the Eternal Alliance has not encouraged him to reveal himself, as he knows that one wrong move could compromise the life he has built in the shadows.
