Map Emote

The Map emote in Star Wars: The Old Republic is a Social emote you can get for your character.

You can find the Map emote in the Legacy section of the emotes panel, or type /map in the chat panel and press enter.

How to Get the Map Emote

Social Rank is a special system you progress when doing activities with other players in SWTOR. As you gain social ranks, you’ll be able to access new rewards at every level. The Map emote is earned by reaching the correct social achievement Social IV. You can check if you have these in the Legacy panel, in the Global Unlocks > Other > Social section, and you can see your social rank in the Achievements > Legacy > Advancement > Group Finder section. Once unlocked, these emotes are legacy-wide, and you can use them on all your characters on your server.

Emote Chat

When you use an emote, text will be displayed in orange to both you and others in the chatbox to anyone who is nearby. You can also select another player, character, or NPC before you use the emote to change what shows up in the chat. This is the text shown by the Map emote in chat.

What you see, with no other character or NPC selected: You review your position on your map.

What you see, when you have another character or NPC selected: You check the position of Hadiir on your map.

What other players see, with no other character or NPC selected: _ checks his/her position on his/her map.

What other players see, with another character or NPC selected that isn't them: [NOTHING, NOT TEXT APPEARS]

What another player sees, when you have them selected: _ checks your position on his/her map.
