SWTOR PvP Seasons, Season 2 (March 28 – June 20, 2023)

PvP Season 2 took place March 28 – June 20, 2023, and the theme was Piercing the Veil. Behind the scenes, dark forces are pulling strings and twisting the competition into a recruitment tool for an organization of assassins. Are competitors fighting for glory and prizes, or are they fighting for their lives?

Season 2 – How to Play PvP Seasons

To open the PvP Seasons menu, roll over the icon of a person in the main menu, and choose Login & Seasons Rewards from the dropdown menu. There are multiple tabs on this window, make sure to select PvP Season at the top.

In the PvP Season tab you can see a track with rewards, and you earn the rewards by playing PvP matches and completing specific objectives while PvPing. You can only earn these rewards while the PvP Season is active. You can see how many days are left in the season on the top left.

Season 2 – Points

In the Galactic Season panel, you can see what level you are at near the top left. To gain a level in Galactic Seasons, you need to gain 280 PvP Seasons points, which you can earn by completing objectives and completing warzones. You can see what objectives are available by clicking the Objectives tab beside the Rewards tab. Some objectives are focused on Arenas and some are focused on Warzones, and they rotate and reset each Tuesday.

Only playing PvP matches and the objectives listed in the Objectives tab count for PvP Seasons points. Matches will grant you anywhere from 0 to 52 points each, depending on if you are subscribed, you and your team’s performance, and each PvP Season objective is worth 100 points.

You can earn up to 1,000 points per week – so up to 400 points from objectives, and the rest of the 600 points from actual matches. How fast those 600 points are earned is entirely dependent on how well both you and your team do. Subscribers get double match points. If you got the max of 8 medals and a win in a warzone as a subscriber, you would need to play about twelve ‘perfect’ matches at 52 points each.

To reach the max of level 25 and earn every track reward, which is 7,000 points total, you could complete it in a minimum of 7 weeks if you maximized your points each week. Each season lasts 12 weeks total. If you started in the first week, you would need to earn an average of 584 points per week if you played every week, to earn all the rewards on the track.

Season 2 – How to Earn Points

There are three ways to earn points on the PVP Seasons Track:

  • The type of match, whether you won or loss, and how many medals you earned, double points as a subscriber
  • Queuing with a group can get you bonus points if you personally do well, double points as a subscriber
  • Completing PvP Seasons Objectives, +100 points each
  • And you can pay credits to unlock some levels

Season 2 – 8vs8 Warzones

Here’s how many points you can earn from warzones in Season 2:

Arenas F2P Win F2P Loss Subscriber Win Subscriber Loss
7 medals 12 Points 4 Points 24 Points 8 Points
6 medals 9 Points 3 Points 18 Points 6 Points
5 medals 9 Points 3 Points 18 Points 6 Points

Plus 4 bonus PvP Points if you queue with a group, and you earned 6 medals in the Warzone match. You can queue up with up to a group of 8 people as of update 7.2. Free-to-play only get 2 bonus points.

Season 2 – 4vs4 Arenas

Here’s how many points you can earn from arenas in Season 2:

Arenas F2P Win F2P Loss Subscriber Win Subscriber Loss
7 medals 12 Points 4 Points 24 Points 8 Points
6 medals 9 Points 3 Points 18 Points 6 Points
5 medals 9 Points 3 Points 18 Points 6 Points
4 medals 6 Points 2 Points 12 Points 4 Points

2 medals 3 Points 1 Point 6 Points 2 Points
1 medals 3 Points 1 Point 6 Points 2 Points
0 medals 0 Points 0 Points 0 Points 0 Points

Plus 2 bonus PvP Point if you queue with a group, and you earned 6 medals in the match. You can queue up with up to a group of 4 people for Arenas. Free-to-play only get 1 bonus point.

Season 2 – Objectives

On the PvP Seasons Objectives tab you can see the weekly rotating objectives, each worth 100 points.

Free-to-play and preferred players are presented 4 PvP Season Objectives that award 100 PvP Points each when completed.

Subscribers will be shown 6 PvP Season Objectives that award 100 PvP Points each when completed, but subscribers will only be able to complete 4 of the 6 objectives per week, giving you more choice than free-to-play players who would have to complete all the objectives offered to get the max points.

These are the objectives you’ll see:

  • Arena: Combatant – Play 16 Arena matches.
  • Arena: Domination – Win 6 Arena matches.
  • Arena: Decorated – Earn at least 7 medals in 8 different Arenas (7 medals in a single match, eight times).
  • Warzones: Combatant – Play 8 Warzone matches.
  • Warzones: Domination – Win 3 Warzone matches.
  • Warzones: Decorated – Earn at least 7 medals in 4 different Warzones (7 medals in a single match, four times).

In the previous season, you needed to earn 8 medals for the Decorated objectives, now you only need 7 in Season 2.

Season 2 – Credits

This is from Season 1. It may change with Season 2.

You may also use credits to unlock the reward track. Credit catchup can only be used to purchase up to level 15 (you must earn the final 10 levels yourself).

The cost goes up for every level you buy, rather than watch level number you are unlocking, so it’s cheaper to unlock levels if you earned some of them.

For example, If you had already earned Level 1, and try to unlock Level 2, it will still only cost 25,000 Credits. So the cost is based on how many levels you have “bought” so far, and not based on the Level number (example Level 1, Level 2, Level 3).

Season 2 – PvP Seasons Tokens

This is from Season 1. It may change with Season 3.

As you play PvP Seasons, you will earn PvP Season Tokens. In Season 1, you can earn a total of 20 PvP Seasons Tokens, enough to buy any of the items on the PvP Seasons Token vendor, where prices range from 6 Tokens for the new items, or 10 or 20 tokens for the previously-retired ranked reward items. PvP Tokens carry over between seasons so you can save them up for bigger items on the vendor. PvP Season Tokens are legacy-bound, and you can see how many you have in the Currency tab of your inventory.

Here is how you can earn PvP Tokens:

  • 2 PvP Seasons Tokens at Level 2
  • 2 PvP Seasons Tokens at Level 5
  • 2 PvP Seasons Tokens at Level 14
  • 2 PvP Seasons Tokens at Level 17
  • 2 PvP Seasons Tokens at Level 21
  • 2 PvP Seasons Tokens at Level 24
  • 8 PvP Seasons Tokens can be earned through achievements during Season 1

If you use credits to unlock your track up to level 15 which is the maximum for credits, rather than playing PvP, you will only be able to get 6 PvP Seasons Tokens. You could of course unlock to 15 and then play the final ten levels for an extra 6 Tokens, and do your best to get the achievements as well.

Season 2 – Achievements

The PvP Season achievements can only be earned during the season, and allow you to earn extra PvP Season Tokens.

PvP Season Two Prodigy: Complete the Arena Advocator, Warzone Warrior, All-star Medalist, and Finisher Feats of Strength during PvP Season 1. REWARD: Mark of the Assassin legacy title + 5 PvP Season Tokens BUG: This seems to be the same title as the one earned on the track.

All-star Medalist: Earn 2,000 medals in Arenas and/or Warzones during PvP Season 1. REWARD:  1 PvP Season Token

Arena Advocator: Complete “[WEEKLY] Go Berserk!” and/or “[WEEKLY] Time for Pain!” missions 12 times during PvP Season 1. REWARD: 1 PvP Season Token

Warzone Warrior: Complete “[WEEKLY] The Spoils of War” and/or “[WEEKLY] Conspicuous Valor” missions 12 times during PvP Season 1. REWARD: 1 PvP Season Token (There is only 12 weeks in a PvP Season. )

Finisher: Reach Level 25 on the PvP Season reward track during PvP Season 1. REWARD: None. Part of the Prodigy achievement.

The Warzone and Arena achievements used to require them to be completed 25 times, this was reduced to 12 for Season 2.

Season 2 – Quests

Make sure to pick up the Weekly Quests from the blue terminals at the beginning of a match to work towards completing the achievements for extra PvP Tokens, or just to get some bonus rewards.

  • [DAILY] Arena of Death: 6 Arena Matches Played (Wins count x3)
  • [DAILY] March Them Down: 3 Warzone Matches Played (Wins count x3)
  • [WEEKLY] Go Berserk!: 24 Arena Matches Played (Wins count x3)
  • [WEEKLY] The Spoils of War: 12 Warzone Matches Played (Wins count x3)

Season 2 – Medals

This is from the previous Season. The Alderaan Civil War medals will be changing with Season 2.

Different types of matches have different types of medals you can earn. The more medals you earn, the more points you can get from a match, and some Weekly objectives require you to earn medals.

You can earn medals from doing big damage hits, healing big heals, defending your teammates as a tank, winning quickly, and there are also objectives specific to each match type like getting a killing blow in an arena or capturing a node in a warzone.

As you play, you will see your medals as a buff above your character portrait. It looks like a golden shield icon with a number on it – the number is how many medals you have earned so far in the match.

At the end of a match, you can see which medals you earned on the right of the Scoreboard.

Apart from trying to complete your weekly objectives for points, you should also be trying to earn medals, as the more medals you get per match, the more points you get per match. You get even more points per medal if you win. Your goal will be to get at least one medal per round if you are a newer player, or up to eight as an experienced player.

If you are just running around, lost and confused, barely hitting anyone, you unfortunately won’t get any medals at all. Medals are rewarded for completing very specific tasks (see chart above). For example, if you are playing warzones as a damage character, and never did a single thing to help the match be won except for trying to kill people, you would only be able to earn a damage medal if you hit someone for more than 30,000 damage. However, if you tried to do things like defend your team’s objective, or helping capture other objectives, or catching and throwing the ball in huttball, you can earn a pile of Offense and Defense medals, and still probably be able to get that 30,000 damage in a single hit medal. In Arenas, you can get medals for things like surviving a round, or getting a killing blow.
