SWTOR GSI Reputation Guide

The GSI Reputation track is a bit unique compared to the other Reputation tracks in the game – while it will send you out on quests, the quests span between multiple planets and are all mostly exploration-based rather than combat-based.

How to Start

Chronological Start: The GSI Reputation story is directly tied to the Macrobinocular and Seeker Droid quests which take place directly after the Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion in the story.  Story Order Guide

Early on Other Characters: You can run the GSI quests even if you are not caught up on the story, as long as you are the correct level for it – level 52+.

Macrobinocular and Seeker Droid Quests

To actually start the GSI reputation track and unlock its repeatable missions, you’ll need to pick up both the Macrobinocular and Seeker Droid Quests. These are two separate quests that give you a special tool and also unlock repeatable quests on different planets related to GSI. ‘

YOU DO NOT NEED TO COMLETE THE QUESTS, you just need to speak to the droid and do the first cutscene where you’ll speak to either a Jedi Master or Sith Lord, who will give you the tool. This early step in the two questlines unlocks the repeatable quests for GSI – make sure to pick up both the start of the Macrobinculars and Seeker Droid quests or you’ll be missing half your repeatable GSI quests.

Both the Macrobinocular and Seeker Droid quests can be started at level 52 or higher on the Fleet. Republic players will speak to M3-8Z and BB-6G near the northern elevator leading to the Cartel Bazaar. Imperial Players will speak to Z1-3C and T4-M7, near the northern elevator leading to the Dromund Kaas departures.

Reputation

Reputation is a way of gaining favor with different groups by completing missions for them. As you level up your reputation rank, more rewards for that reputation track become available. Reputation is shared by all your characters on your server, so it’s legacy-wide.

By using multiple characters, you won’t be limited to how many GSI missions you run, but you will still be gated by how many reputation points you can earn – you can only earn a hard limit of  12,000 reputation points per week.

The Reputation track for GSI is called Galactic Solutions Industries.

Ranks

As you run  GQI qusts, you’ll rank up your reputation, and each rank unlocks new rewards from the GSI Reputations vendor on the Upper Promenade of Nar Shaddaa.

  • None – 0 Reputation
  • Outsider – 0/2,500 Reputation (2,500 total points needed)
  • Newcomer – 0/5,000 Reputation (7,500 total points needed)
  • Friend – 0/7,500 Reputation (15,000 total points needed)
  • Hero – 0/10,000  Reputation (25,000 total points needed)
  • Champion – 0/15,000 Reputation (40,000 total points needed)
  • Legend – 0/30,000 Reputation (70,000 total points needed)

Tokens

Each type of token from KDY gives you a different amount of Reputation, and it also changes based on what various boosts you have and whether you are subscribed or not:

  • Repair Toolkit: 180 Reputation (270 as a subscriber)
  • Energy Field Monitor: 420 Reputation (630 as a subscriber)
  •   GSI Share Certificate: 960 Reputation (1440 as a subscriber)

Earning Reputation

  • Weekly GSI quests give you a purple reputation token.
  • Heroic GSI quests give you a blue reputation token.
  • Daily GSI quests give you a green reputation token.

GSI Quests

After you have done the first cutscene for the Macrobinocular and Seeker droid quests, you’ll unlock a set of repeatable GSI missions on Tatooine, Alderaan and Makeb, and their quest terminals will be in near where you load into the planet. The quest terminal is vaguely orange-blue-and-white colored, and is shaped differently than the normal quest terminals.

The FASTEST way to get to these is to use the Heroic travel to the planets, found by clicking the icon of “three little people” near your minimap, choosing the solo tab selecting a planet then travelling there. The GSI terminal will always be nearby.

Another player named Fibro Jedi has a really great set of quest guides for all four planets step-by-step on his blog:
