7.5.1 is on the way with new Galactic Seasons, Date Nights, and even the return of Dark Vs Light bosses on august 20th, but it wouldn’t be a SWTOR update without some neat cosmetics coming to the Cartel Market too. This round of stuff seems heavily inspired by Star Wars Visions on Disney+, a series of short Anime stories told by studios around the world in the Star Wars setting without the constraints of adhering to any canon! This created a lush artistic playground where studios could make whatever appealed to them, and certainly led to some incredible visuals worth capturing a piece of in SWTOR.
Before we get to the Visions stuff, however, another armor set makes it’s way to the Cartel Market that was likely long overdue…

Imperial Commando Armor – 1,900 Cartel Coins
This armorset is a wonderfully high-res version of the standard Imperial Trooper armor seen in the many strongholds of evil throughout Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Swtorista: “hey Zahk, could you make a post about the new armors?”
Zahk: “Previously if a player wanted to look like the horrifying, uncaring, visage of oppression represented in these helmets, they’d need to have had the SWTOR Collectors Edition unlock and then headed to the fleet’s VIP section for the Imperial Trooper Armor. With this new updated set of gear however, even some VIP players may find themselves dropping some cartel coins and joining the fight to crush freedom and ruin lives across the galaxy in greater style than ever! Players should take care to have credits on hand to repair the new Imperial Commando Armorset however, as we all know tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear.”
Swtorista: “that works, thanks!”
Lotus Blade and Burning Ember Light/Dualsabers – 1,500 Cartel Coins (Each)
These beautiful sabers have a slightly more elegant guard at the top of the hilt compared to their inspiration in The Duel, one of the Visions episodes, but the inspiration is clear when looking at the Tsuka Ito, the very thin fabric strings wrapped at 45-degree angles across the hilt for grip, traditionally seen on katanas. Given the long history of influence between Jedi and parallel concepts with Samurai, it’s nice to finally have a weapon that cements that important connection.
It would seem that both versions of this incredibly beautiful weapon come with their own unique default coloration for blade, not requiring a color crystal – The Lotus Blades have the cherry-blossom pink coloration by default as seen in the single handed image above, as well as a white base with black ito wrapping, while the Burning Ember sabers will be the opposite – a black metal base with white ito wrapping, as well as a flaming orange-red coloration by default, as seen on the bottom of the dualsaber preview above. Both styles are available as single or dual sabers!
Scattered Blossom and Scattered Embers Weapon Tunings – 1,000 Cartel Coins
The particle effects for these new tunings (clearly designed to go with your new sabers above!) are very scattered as the name implies and so it can be hard for a still image to do the tuning justice. The preview video is below: a wonderful spotlight effect of embers or cherry blossoms flowing around your character whenever your weapons are out. As shown in our thumbnail – sentinels could even use both at the same time making a pretty cool effect.
Deadly Outcast Armorset – 2,600 Cartel Coins
This Armor set very clearly inspired by a certain character in The Acolyte, from the cracked helmet to the stylish sleeveless tunic. Comes with a rarely-3d assymetrical bracer and some pretty high-def cloth textures that’d mix well in any of the recent armor sets!
Appearance Options: Short Locs – 80 Cartel Coins
Another Acolyte-inspired item, this new hair option comes to the character creator for a cheap 80 cartel coins – modeled after the lead role in the show! Some fairly detailed texturing in this one could go a long way to make your character look a little more high-resolution, and keep up with the texture improvements all the recent story characters have been getting.
Purple Lotus Crystals – 800 Cartel Coins (Each)
Note that while not required if you’re using the new Lotus Sabers with a default color, these new color crystals allow you to transplant that new shade to any other saber you like to use! There does not appear to be a Burning Embers crystal available with this update, though there are already some very similar red-orange crystals, if not an identical one!
And that’s it for brand-new Cartel additions in this update! A few (from the Deadly Outcast and Down) were sneakily added at launch with no preview, so if this page looks a little bigger than you remember, now you know why.
