Update 7.8 Now Up on Public Test Servers!

Hi everyone!

The Dantooine Crash Site area is now open for players to test out the Dynamic Encounters (DEs), explore the new biomes, and take on a challenging 4–player boss.

If you are not familiar with DEs, below is a short video of what they are and how they will work in the new area.

Unlike the DEs that were released in Game Updates 7.6 and 7.7, Dantooine’s encounters will require a group effort on two levels and access to the boss is completely dependent upon how quickly DEs are completed.

As described in the video, there are three biomes that need to be “leveled up” in order for the final boss to be unlocked. The more encounters that are completed, the faster the biomes will upgrade to the next level unlocking new areas and more challenging missions.

When the biomes are fully leveled, players will be able to engage the Orbital Core boss. Players will need to work together in 4–player groups in order to take it down. Note that once the boss is “unlocked” the encounter will remain active for a period of 2 hours (this is subject to change) allowing multiple groups to challenge it. Once this window of time closes, the gameloop repeats and the biomes will revert back to level 1.

How to prepare for this content

• If you’re not familiar with the PTS, please go through this post first.
• Players must transfer a level 80 character to the PTS in order to participate in this content
• Note that while on the PTS, players will not be able to expand their inventory or purchase Legacy perks.
  • While unlocks can’t be purchased, your copied Legacy with unlocks is available. You will need to name the Legacy, and then relog back into the PTS to get those unlocks.

Important notes

You will be getting a very early first look into 7.8 content. Understand that everything is still a work in progress and not completely polished.
We do anticipate having at least one iteration of PTS after initially opening. Details will be communicated as needed.

Content you will NOT see available on the PTS:

• Story crit path content
• PvP Season 9
• New Cartel Market items
• The Dantooine Stronghold

Specific callouts for this iteration of PTS

• This area is for level 80 characters
• The mission “Wreckage on Dantooine” must be progressed to be able to challenge the final boss in this iteration
• Consumable items on the Reputation vendor do not have functionality. We will, however, be asking for feedback on the pricing and reputation rank requirement of them. Please use this thread to add any feedback!
• Achievements will not be available
• Some Class Balance Changes will also be implemented! See the feedback thread for a full list of changes
• As this content requires group effort, we did want to share that 4pm-8pm CT tends to be one of the windows of time where we see a lot of activity on the servers.
