The Knights of the Fallen Empire Chapter V: From the Grave chapter takes place in the third expansion of Star Wars: The Old Republic, in both the Endless Swamps of Zakuul and on the Gravestone.

Dialogue

The dialogue below is an example of what the dialogue trees may look like, but may not reflect how it is in-game exactly, due to some options not being used, and the way the dialogue trees are non-linear. I’ve done my best to put the text together in a fun way where you can look at the differences in the dialogue choices, and see the different wordings depending on your class, faction or alignment. There will potentially be spoilers from every class story and every expansion before this one. Enjoy!
There is a lot of different dialogue trees depending on whether you’ve knelt to Valkorion, have used Valkorion’s power later in the chapter, flirted with Koth or Lana or saved the exiles. The biggest difference is when you choose to accept or deny Valkorion’s power against the Zakuul Knights.

My favorite differences include:
- There’s different dialogue with Valkorion depending on on if you kneeled or not in Chapter 1.
- Lana gets extra dialogue if you told her about the Emperor in your mind in the previous chapter.
- You get to accept or deny Valkorion’s power for the first time after you knelt/refused in Chapter 1, as you fight the Knights of Zakuul.
- There is a hilarious scenario where you may have flirted with Koth previously, and he walks in on you flirting with Lana. Awkward!
- This chapter acknowledges whether you saved the exiles or not in the previous chapter.
- Senya can sense if you used Valkorion’s power earlier in the chapter! But she doesn’t quite know what it is yet.
- We meet Senya, Satele Shan as the Hooded Figure, and Darth Marr the Ghost for the first time in this chapter.
Introduction

Either by chance or fate, <name> has stumbled across THE GRAVESTONE, an ancient alien warship lauded by legend as the only vessel to stand victorious against the Eternal Fleet.
Unfortunately, the Gravestone has fallen into a state of disrepair. The heroes must work quickly to fix the ship’s engines before Arcann’s forces discover their location.
But first, <name> must come to terms with the internal threat of Valkorion, who has once again cheated death by stowing away in the Outlander’s mind….
Cutscenes

- Valkorion: Don’t be so surprised. Where you go, I go. We are indivisible now.
- Valkorion: The Gravestone. Not entirely what I’d envisioned.
It’s really you.Player: I thought you were just a dream.
- Valkorion: I assure you, I am real, as is my intent to see you flourish/
Is it part of your plan?Player: Did you guide us here?
- Valkorion: The real question to ask is: “Why are we here?”
[[[Did you kneel before Valkorion in Chapter 1?]]] Tell me about this ship.Player: What do you know about it?
- Valkorion: I know rumors. Half-truths. I won’t bother you with them.
[[[Did you refuse to kneel before Valkorion in Chapter 1?]]] Details. Now.Player: You’re going to tell me what you know about it.
- Valkorion: I thought I had made it clear that I intend to help you, and here you are acting the aggressor.
[[[Did you kneel before Valkorion in Chapter 1?]]] Valkorion: Now that you know what my children are capable of, you are better prepared for the trials our partnership will bring.
I’d like to hear more.Player: I’m listening.
- Valkorion: We will face many challenges together. But when the time comes, you will only need to ask and unlimited power will course through you.
I don’t fear them.Player: They’re persistent, but they don’t scare me.
- Valkorion: You do not need to prove anything to me. I am more aware of your potential than you are.
I didn’t sign up for this.Player: This wasn’t the sort of partnership I had in mind.
- Valkorion: Nor I. But we can still forge meaningful opportunities from our entwined fates.
[[[Did you refuse to kneel before Valkorion in Chapter 1?]]] Valkorion: You have had a taste of my son’s Empire, his reach. And Vaylin–she does not believe in restraint. We can only defeat Arcann if we work together.
I’m listening.Player: I’ll hear you out.
- Valkorion: Thank you. It’s simple, really.
- Valkorion: You must be willing to accept my help for what it is. And you will have to come to this acceptance sooner than you think.
You have a plan, don’t you?Player: You sound like you know how to accomplish that.
- Valkorion: I know… aspects. But an unknown factor remains at the center of all of it–you.
I don’t trust you.Player: I don’t buy for one moment that you’re on my side.
- Valkorion: Were the roles reversed, perhaps I would be skeptical as well. But what if I could prove my sincerity?
- Valkorion: Would you continue to see me as your eternal nemesis, or would you open your eyes to the truth?
- Koth Vortena: Get ready for a fight, people! They found us! Skytroopers breaching the entrance!

You fight the Emptronic Battle Droid.

- Koth Vortena: Hey! Watch the ship!
- HK-55: Compliment: Fine dismantling, master!
- Koth Vortena: That’s just the first wave. They have more on the way!
- Player: I’ll head them off.
- Koth Vortena: The Gravestone will be ready soon. I just need–
- Lana Beniko: Don’t say three minutes.
- Koth Vortena: Buy me some time. I’ll get us airborne.
- Lana Beniko: I’m with you. HK, stay behind and help Koth.
- Koth Vortena: Until I say so, don’t touch anything!

- Player: Koth did say there were more on the way.
- Lana Beniko: Something I’ve learned to count on regarding Arcann…
- Lana Beniko: …there will always be more.

You fight the Skytrooper Control Droid.

- Lana Beniko: There are too many!
- Player: We have to keep fighting.
- Koth Vortena: Hey, you two need a hand out there?
- Lana Beniko: No. We have help.
- Koth Vortena: You what?
- Senya: Lana.
- Lana Beniko: You’re late.
- Player: You got one of the Knights to switch sides.
- Senya: Not all of us blindly follow Arcann.
- Lana Beniko: More resistance. Knights.
- Knight of Zakuul: High Justice, we have the Outlander.
- Lana Beniko: I do hope you’re up to fighting your own, Senya.
- Senya: My issue isn’t with them, but if they’re going to stand in my way….
- Player: I see you’ve found another pragmatist.
- Senya: Stow the chatter. Prove you can fight.
- Koth Vortena:Firing up the engines! I hope.

- Knight of Zakuul: Knights! Zildrog’s Wedge!
- Knight of Zakuul: We have the Outlander. You may kill the others.
- Lana Beniko: Get out of here! Save yourself!

- Player: What is this?
- Valkorion: An opportunity.
- Valkorion: You are outmatched. Death is all but certain for your Sith friend….
- Valkorion: I could save her. I only require the briefest moment of control.
- Valkorion: Accept my help or watch her die. Choose quickly: time has not stopped.

[[[Did you kneel before Valkorion?]]] I’ll handle it. [Refuse power]Player: I can manage without your help. Valkorion: If you say so….

[[[Did you refuse to kneel before Valkorion?]]] No way. [Refuse power]Player: I’ll never give in to you. Valkorion: Very well.
-
- Lana Beniko: Aagh!
- Koth Vortena: We can do this! Keep fighting!
- Koth Vortena: They haven’t killed you yet–come on!
- Lana Beniko: Koth. Thank you….
-
-
Go ahead. [Use Valkorion’s power]Player: Take care of it.
- Valkorion: Gladly.
[[[Did you tell Lana about the Emperor in your mind?]]] Lana Beniko: Was that… him? The power at your disposal….
[[[Did you keep Valkorion in your mind a secret?]]] Lana Beniko: What… what happened to the Knights?- Koth Vortena: I was coming to help, but… looks like you didn’t need it.

If you choose the Dark-side option to accept Valkorion’s power, you get to use a force wave to knock over the enemies, debris, and Lana, decimating your enemies. You get to do this even if you are a tech user. Otherwise, Koh steps in to save Lana, but she gets hurt.

- Player: Is the Gravestone ready for takeoff?
- Koth Vortena: Far as I can tell. Looks like we’ve got everyone–let’s go.
- Lana Beniko: No–wait–where’s Senya?
- Koth Vortena: Excuse me? Where’s who?
- Senya: Here I am. Let’s move out.
- Koth Vortena: Whoa, wait a minute. Hang on. She’s your help? If you think I’m letting that piece of work on my ship, you’re out of your–
- HK-55: Interjection: Many more hostiles are approaching! Permission to defend with extreme prejudice?
- Lana Beniko: No more fighting. We must leave Zakuul.
- Koth Vortena: I’ll prep the engines.
- Koth Vortena: Be ready to move.

- Lana Beniko: The ship will never pull itself up from the muck. We’ll have to give it a push.
- Koth Vortena: Firing up the engines! I hope.
- Lana Beniko: We can do this.
OR
Let us focus.Player: Concentrate. Feel the Force as it ripples through you.
OR
Exploit your feelings.Player: Let your unease take root. Only then will the Force do your bidding.
OR
OR
OR
I have your backs.Player: I’ll make sure you aren’t interrupted.

Lana Beniko: Thank you.
[[[If you are a force-user, you help left the ship in the cutscene.]]]
[[[If you are a tech-user, you turn around and ‘watch their backs’ as they lift the ship without you.]]]- Koth Vortena: They’re doing it. They’re actually doing it! Can you believe it?
- HK-55: Observation: The ship is rising. Conclusion: Belief is not required.
- Koth Vortena: Glad you worked that out.
- Koth Vortena: Now get in here so we can finally get moving!

- Koth Vortena: How about that? My Gravestone can move!
Impressive!Player: Considering how we found it, I’d say you’ve outdone yourself.
- Koth Vortena: Team effort–I’d say everyone outdid themselves.
What’s our destination?Player: Where are we going?
- Koth Vortena: Somewhere safe.
OR
OR
OR
OR
This is my ship.Player: Do not lay claim to the belongings of others.
OR
OR
This is my ship.Player: Don’t go calling dibs on things that aren’t yours.
- Koth Vortena: Right. And let me guess who you think the ship belongs to….
- Koth Vortena: Incoming! Dropping out of hyperspace! It’s–
- Koth Vortena: It’s a lot.
- Senya: The Eternal Fleet.
- Koth Vortena: They aren’t firing.

- Vaylin: Ugly ship. What are you waiting for?
- Arcann: Take it.

- Koth Vortena: HK! See about that hyperdrive! Lana, work the shields! And we need a gunner!
- Player: I’ll take care of it.

- Koth Vortena: Omnicannon’s up. There’s a capital ship near the center–
- Player: I see it.
- Koth Vortena: Good. Now hit it!
- Koth Vortena: Target down!
- Koth Vortena: Wait… five targets… ten… I can’t keep up!
- Koth Vortena: It’s real. We could take the whole fleet.
- HK-55: Statement: The hyperdrive now meets minimum functionality requirements.
- Koth Vortena: Why didn’t you say so? All right, let’s get out of here.

- Arcann: More than two dozen ships lost in a single shot….
- Vaylin: So that’s the Gravestone. It’s as powerful as they say.
- Arcann: Everything stands at risk. Zakuul. The throne. My vision for the galaxy. All because we let the Outlander slip away!
- Arcann: I’m not blaming you.
- Vaylin: I didn’t think you were.
- Arcann: Father held us all back–you more than any. Such raw power and yet you’re still spreading your wings, finding your limits.
- Vaylin: Nice to be appreciated for a change. So what now?
- Arcann: Now I act.

- Koth Vortena: No no no!
- Lana Beniko: What’s happened?
- Koth Vortena: The hyperdrive worked–one time. Omnicannon’s fried, too. What a mess….
- Lana Beniko: We’re safely away from the fleet, if nothing else.
- Koth Vortena: Should be able to make it to Asylum, but let’s not hold our breath.
What’s there?Player: What is this Asylum place and why are we going there?
- Senya: Asylum is a skyport. A safe haven from Arcann’s patrols.
We’re going to an asylum?Player: Who’s being committed?
- Lana Beniko: Not that kind of asylum.
We need a better mechanic.Player: I thought you were supposed to fix it, not apply a temporary patch.
- Koth Vortena: It’s the best anyone could have done. We’ll have more resources when we reach our destination.
- Koth Vortena: Was she really necessary?
- Lana Beniko: She helped us raise the Gravestone. She fought at our side.
- Koth Vortena: She also hunted me like an animal for years. She was Arcann’s loyal Knight!
- Senya: I thought I was in service to Zakuul. You had abandoned your responsibilities!
Koth, Senya–stop whining.Player: I don’t want to hear it. You’re done arguing, both of you.
[Let them continue]Player:
- Koth Vortena: How many people did Arcann slaughter while you still served him? How many?
- Senya: We’re comparing body counts now? I’m not sure that’s a game you want to play, Vortena.
Let’s get along.Player: It sounds like you’re both on the same side now. Whatever history you have, it’s best to let it go.
- Koth Vortena: You don’t know what she’s capable of. You weren’t there.
- Senya: Do they know what you’re capable of, Vortena?
- Senya: If anybody needs me, I’ll be… somewhere.
- Koth Vortena: You could have at least consulted with me first.
- Lana Beniko: Yes, I wonder how that might have gone.
- Koth Vortena: Absolutely! I’d be glad to fix the Gravestone by myself!
[Check in with Koth]
[Check in with Lana]

You get to speak to both Lana or Koth. The order doesn’t really matter.

If you chose to check in with Lana…
[[[Did you acept Valkorion’s power earlier, and did you NOT tell Lana about the Emperor in your mind?]]] Lana Beniko: I’m still trying to wrap my head around what took place out there. One moment there were Knights, and the next….
- Lana Beniko: What do you suppose happened?
[Lie] No idea.Player: Your guess is as good as mine.- Lana Beniko: It’s cause to be unsettled, of that I’m certain. Just as I’m certain I was right in asking Senya to join us.
[Lie] Maybe Senya?Player: It could be Senya’s been less than forthcoming about her capabilities.- Lana Beniko: She’s powerful, but not nearly that powerful. I don’t know of anyone alive who is.
[Lie] Maybe the Gravestone?Player: There could be weapons on this ship that we don’t know about.- Lana Beniko: Koth was on his way outside, and I don’t think HK would know his way around the controls….
[[[Did you accept Valkorion’s power earlier, and did you tell Lana about the Emperor in your mind?]]] Lana Beniko: Your display of power, it concerns me. Deeply.
- Lana Beniko: I hope you’ve considered that its use must come at a cost. A very personal cost.
I know.Player: I’ll be careful.
- Lana Beniko: You’re hardly putting me at ease.
Don’t underestimate me.Player: I’m in control, and I’ll always be in control.
- Lana Beniko: I wouldn’t be so certain.
- Lana Beniko: Valkorion may prove to be of some use, but he’s no less dangerous than when he was alive.
- Lana Beniko: That’s why we need all the help we can get–and Senya will be a great help. I hope you can see that
[[[Did you refuse Valkorion’s power earlier, which let Lana get hurt?]]]
Still in pain?Player: You should have someone look at that.
- Lana Beniko: I’ll heal.
Is the dummy a stand-in?Player: When you look at your target, is there a face you see?
- Lana Beniko: Always someone I find infuriating. A number of people take turns. It’s therapeutic.
OR
Use the pain.Player: Wounds are fuel. Don’t be wasteful.
- Lana Beniko: It’s all right, I have plenty of fuel left.
OR
OR
OR
OR
OR
It’s not so bad. Tough it out.Player: You’re not going to let one little battle scar hold you back, are you?
- Lana Beniko: Most certainly not.
- Lana Beniko: You really should speak to Koth.
- Lana Beniko: I was right to reach out to Senya. I hope you see that.
Senya’s good for us.Player: She’s a good fighter, she helped us raise the Gravestone…. I’d say she’s an asset.
She seems like trouble.Player: She’s coarse, belligerent…. I’m not convinced.
Why didn’t you tell me?Player: You could have let me know we had backup on the way.
- Lana Beniko: I wanted you to encounter her without my guidance. To see if you saw her as I did.
- Lana Beniko: We met shortly after I arrived in Wild Space. Senya was hunting Koth, I was hoping to learn your fate….
- Lana Beniko: We exchanged what information we could. This was all before I really knew Koth, of course. Years ago.
We all need to get along.Player: Those two will have to get past their differences.
- Lana Beniko: It won’t be easy….
We need the old paradigm back.Player: None of this is right. We have to set things back to the way they were.
OR
OR
OR
Lana Beniko: I wouldn’t want to be your enemy again, but I do know what you mean.
OR
OR
Lana Beniko: I would take our Empire over theirs any day.
Lana Beniko: Yes, I would take the Sith Empire over this one any day.
[[[Did you become Lana’s lover in the Shadow of Revan expansion?]]] [Flirt] You missed me.Player:
- Player: You were looking for me all that time.
- Lana Beniko: Is it really any surprise?
[[[Did you meet Lana in Shadow of Revan, but did not romance her, but want to flirt now?]]] [Flirt] You really care.Player: You were looking for me all that time?
OR
OR
OR
Lana Beniko: We might not always agree, but you’re my ally. I would even venture to call you my friend.
OR
OR
OR
Lana Beniko: In spite of our differences, you’re my ally. I would even venture to call you my friend.- Player: I’ve always seen the potential for something more between us.
- Lana Beniko: I won’t lie: the thought has crossed my mind. On more than one occasion….
[[[Did you just flirt with Lana Beniko?]]]
- Koth Vortena: I was looking for a… hyperdrive matrix processor assembly.
[[[I don’t know exactly what this check is, but it is called ‘prefers_koth_to_lana = true’ – perhaps if you flirted with im in the swamps?]]] Koth Vortena: I thought you said….- Lana Beniko: Thought who said what?
- Koth Vortena: Nothing. It’s–I made a mistake. I’ll keep looking for the… thing….
- Koth Vortena: You probably haven’t seen one in here…. I’ll keep looking.
[[[(You have already spoken to Koth, and accepted Valkorion’s power.]]] Lana Beniko: I should continue my meditation.
[[[(You have already spoken to Koth, and accepted Valkorion’s power.]]] Lana Beniko: I suppose I should get back to healing.
[[[You haven’t spoken to Koth yet.]]] Lana Beniko: You may want to look in on Koth.- Lana Beniko: And you should get to know Senya. I’m not sure if you’ll hit it off, exactly, but I think you’ll find her intriguing.

Talking with Koth
- Koth Vortena: Why can’t there be a maintenance manual?
- Koth Vortena: Hey. Can you cut the power? Right over there.
- Koth Vortena: Thanks. Wouldn’t want to electrocute myself on top of everything else.
- Koth Vortena: She’s really something, this ship, but no one’s been taking care of her.
OR
OR
Player: You sure got attached in a hurry.
OR
OR
OR
OR
Player: You’ve grown attached rather quickly.- Koth Vortena: No offense, but it’s the Gravestone that will save the galaxy from Arcann. Not you, not me… definitely not Senya.
I’ll take her assistance.Player: Lana believes she can help us. That’s enough for me.
- Koth Vortena: Hey, I trust Lana. I think the world of–
- Koth Vortena: Look, I’m just saying she might not know Senya as well as she thinks.
[Let him continue]
Let it go.Player: You both want the same thing. Let the past be the past.
- Koth Vortena: If she’s really in it to stop Arcann, I’ll try. But I shouldn’t be the one having to bend over backward to convince you of anything.
You and Lana are close…Player:You really care about Lana, don’t you?
[[[Did Koth awkwardly walk in on your and Lana flirting earlier?]]] Koth Vortena: Right, the “part” I was looking for. That was…. I have been known to make a fool of myself now and then.- Koth Vortena: It’s not like you’re thinking. We’ve worked together for years, and she’s saved my life more times than I can count.
- Koth Vortena: So, I do what I can to return the favor. If that means storming into the Spire to pull some Outlander out of carbonite, well… that’s what I’ll do
What did she do to you?Player: What did Senya do to earn this grudge?.
- Koth Vortena: She was ruthless. After we deserted, she hunted us for months. Everyone on my crew bled more than once on account of her.
I don’t trust her.Player: I’m not so sure about Senya’s motives.
- Koth Vortena: A voice of reason. Thank you!
- Koth Vortena: Senya acts according to… I don’t know what. Her own narrow concept of justice, maybe.
- Koth Vortena: Even if her objectives align with yours, it doesn’t mean she’ll do what you need to get done–believe me.
- Player: She said your ambition was showing.
- Koth Vortena: Her head’s been filled with Arcann’s lies for so long, I don’t know if it’s worth trying to make sense of her.
- Koth Vortena: Lana and I, we had our time. It was good.
- Koth Vortena: She ended all that once she proved you were still alive. We had to put all our focus into finding you.
I’m grateful you rescued me.Player: I’d be a frozen carcass if you hadn’t.
[Flirt] You did well.Player: And you did it. You found me. Where’s your focus now?
I’m grateful you rescued me.Player: I’d be a frozen carcass if you hadn’t.
- Koth Vortena: I have a good feeling, you know. We’ll get Arcann.
[Flirt] You did well.Player: And you did it. You found me. Where’s your focus now?
- Koth Vortena: I’m a little confused. I thought you and Lana were….
You’re more my type.Player: I’m allowed to have second thoughts.
- Koth Vortena: Well, that’s… good to know. I’ll keep it in mind.
Whatever happens, happens.Player: I like to keep myself open to possibilities.
- Koth Vortena: A fence-sitter. Got it.
[Lie] I’m not into Lana.Player: Maybe there was something there, but she doesn’t interest me anymore.
- Koth Vortena: On the ship, of course. But that could change.
[[[Did you become Lana’s lover in the Shadow of Revan expansion?]]] I’m still into Lana.Player:
- Player: I’m sure you know my history with Lana. Keep it in mind.
- Koth Vortena: I’ll do that.
[[[Did you meet Lana in Shadow of Revan, but didn’t romance her?]]] Less romance, more readiness.Player: And now you should be focused on Arcann, not each other.
- Koth Vortena: Take it easy. I know what I’ve got to do.
I don’t owe you anything.Player: That was your choice. I never asked you to do any of this.
- Koth Vortena: You’re really not hearing me.
- Koth Vortena: Just… don’t forget who dropped everything to storm the Spire and and help Lana pull you out of carbonite. All right? / Koth Vortena: Don’t forget who dropped everything for Lana and put all his focus into finding you.
- Koth Vortena: I should get back to it. Need to be sure the Gravestone can get us all the way to Asylum.
[[[If you spoke to Lana already]]] Koth Vortena: Hey. If Senya shines that narrow spotlight of hers on you, check your shadow.
[[[If you used Valkorian’s power earlier in the chapter]]] Koth Vortena: Hey. I know Lana doesn’t seem to be in the talking mood, but maybe check in on her.
[[[If you did not use Valkorian’s power earlier in the chapter, so she got hurt]]] Koth Vortena: Hey. Maybe you should check in on Lana. See how that wound’s doing.

- HK-55: Query: Has the meatbag bickering finally exhausted itself?
Listening in?Player: Were you eavesdropping?
[[[Did you NOT take in and rescue the exiles earlier in the chapter?]]] HK-55: Correction: I was monitoring activity in order to ensure everyone’s safety, master.
[[[Did you take in and rescue the exiles earlier in the chapter?]]] HK-55: Report: I have taken the liberty of checking in on your band of refugees.
-
- HK-55: Assessment: They have quickly taken to their new lodging arrangements. I have warned them not to stray from their chosen location.
-
Yes–finally.Player: One thing that hasn’t changed in five years–and I doubt it ever will: meatbag bickering.
[[[Did you NOT take in and rescue the exiles earlier in the chapter?]]] HK-55: Agreement: You said it, master.
[[[Did you take in and rescue the exiles earlier in the chapter?]]] HK-55: Report: I have taken the liberty of checking in on your band of refugees.
- HK-55: Report: I have taken on the task of exploring the ship’s interior.
Mind your place.Player: You shouldn’t be poking your nose where it doesn’t belong.
[[[Did you NOT take in and rescue the exiles earlier in the chapter?]]] HK-55: Admission: I strongly dislike that expression. My olfactory sensors are not at issue.
[[[Did you take in and rescue the exiles earlier in the chapter?]]] HK-55: Report: Speaking of my curiosity, master, I have checked in on your band of refugees.
- HK-55: Report: Speaking of my curiosity, master, I have initiated an exploratory examination of this craft.
- HK-55: Analysis: There are many sealed passageways, and I am unable to detect what may be on the other side.
- Player: Worth looking into at some point.
- HK-55: Revelation: I discovered an especially strange area, unlike anywhere else on the Gravestone.
- HK-55: I had attempted to ascertain if any of its contents could be weaponized, but the new meatbag interrupted.
- HK-55: Query: Any orders, master?
Do as you will.Player: As you were, HK.
- HK-55: Approval: I like your orders!
Lend Koth a hand.Player: See if there’s anything you can do to help Koth with his repairs.
- HK-55: Sarcasm: Excitement! I can’t wait to spend more time with him!
Look in on Lana.Player: Make sure Lana has everything she needs.
- HK-55: Assurance: I will endeavor to see to her right away!

- Senya: I know. I couldn’t help but take this place in, either. Reminds me of a song I wrote.
Care to sing it?Player: I’d like to hear that. Just a few bars?
- Senya: Without accompaniment? I’m not that brave.
You wrote a song? You?Player: I wouldn’t have pegged you for a songwriter.
- Senya: You know, I get that a lot. Probably because most people meet me when I’m terse and angry.
This place is unsettling….Player: I feel like I’m being watched.
- Senya: I can stop looking at you. Maybe that will help? There.
- Senya: Better…? No? Worth a try.
- Player: You seem nothing at all like the person I met in the swamp.
- Senya: Being a Knight means everything, but I don’t let it define me.
- Senya: When it’s time to go to work, I’m who I need to be. The rest of the time, I’m just myself.
- Senya: You don’t strike me as all that different.
OR
I’m not always a Jedi.Player:
OR
I’m not always a Sith Lord.Player:
-
OR
OR
OR
Player: I live by a code, but I don’t follow it to the letter.
OR
Senya: I’ve heard your code. Victory from passion. It’s a powerful notion. Very much like how Arcann operates.
OR
Senya: Your Jedi Code. I’ve heard it recited. It’s interesting.- Senya: Wouldn’t work for me, I don’t think. Definitely wouldn’t work for Arcann.
I’m not.Player: Parts of who you are have no place in war. They can’t survive.
-
Senya: I think that’s true, but it’s hard to help sometimes. Someone like Arcann can make things unavoidably personal.
It’s exhausting.Player: “You’re an outlaw.” “No, you’re a vital asset in the war.” “No, now you’re a pirate outlaw!” Enough to make your head spin.
Senya: Think of it this way: you can be a “vital pirate outlaw asset” in the war against Arcann.
I don’t let work get to me.Player: The things I have to do on the job stay on the job, if that’s what you mean.
Senya: Exactly. Though I think some things we can’t help but be haunted by. Like having worked under Arcann.
I’ve had many faces.Player: Whatever the situation requires of me, that’s who I become.
- Senya: I imagine that can get complicated. But it will make you useful against Arcann.
How so?Player: What do you mean?
[[[Did you use Valkorion’s power earlier in the chapter?]]] Senya: I get the feeling you aren’t entirely yourself when matters call for it.
- Senya: I think that’s true of a lot of people. I like to think it’s even true of Arcann.
[[[Did you NOT use Valkorion’s power earlier in the chapter?]]]- Senya: Like me, I think you send parts of yourself deep down when it’s appropriate.
I am who I am.Player: I’m always me. It’s as simple as that.
- Senya: I think that’s fine, but expect your sense of self to be tested if you confront Arcann.
- Player: I know why I oppose him. What’s your reason?
- Senya: Years after the death of our Immortal Emperor, most are still so afflicted with remorse that they don’t see what’s happening.
- Senya: Arcann has become oppressive and cruel. He’ll crush anyone who doesn’t share his plan for the galaxy.
- Senya: So that’s me. What about you?
I’m trying to save the galaxy.Player: Arcann wants to lay waste to everything I’ve fought for and accomplished. I won’t let him.- Senya: Neither will I. I may not know much of the worlds you’ve inhabited, but I do know what he’s doing to them.
It’s my destiny.Player: Everything I’ve done has brought me here. I’m supposed to face Arcann. To stop him.
- Senya: Careful with that. Destiny can cloud your judgment more than doubt ever could. Or rum.
I want revenge.Player: Arcann took five years of my life. Turned everything inside out. He has to pay.
- Senya: I know what that’s like. Not exactly, but I see where you’re coming from.
- Senya: You’re not what I expected. Not sure if that’s good or bad yet, but I do know I’ll have an easier time with you than Koth.
Please make an attempt.Player: I hope you’ll try to get along. The more we work together, the better off we’ll be.
- Senya: Just because he betrayed our enemy doesn’t change the fact that he was a traitor. You need to be cautious.
You’re both strangers to me.Player: I don’t trust either of you.
- Senya: That’s fair. But I think you’ll come to find one of us is more trustworthy than the other.
Anyone crosses me, they die.Player: If either of you makes this difficult for me, the Gravestone is equipped with several airlocks.
- Senya: When the time comes for us to confront Arcann, that might be just the kind of conviction we’ll need.

- Hooded Figure [Satele Shan]: Valkorion lives. He is not himself, nor has he taken a new body. It is difficult to see…
- Satele Shan: …and yet it is unmistakable.
- Spirit Voice [Darth Marr]: His presence in the Force has always been deceptive.
- Satele Shan: Like on the Yavin moon.
- Spirit Voice [Darth Marr]: Yes, and many times before and since.
- Darth Marr: Even when my life depended on it, I did not see him properly until it was too late….
