Don’t get scammed – SWTOR fake giveaways (ongoing)

Hi all there has been a nasty scam going around. Basically, if anyone ever has a “giveaway” that requires you to log in to your SWTOR account with your username and password to enter, it is a SCAM.

The related twitch account has already been banned, but they can easily make a new one.

When entering your swtor username and password always make sure it is actually on the official site, and not some other site that looks like it. Even a security key may not help you in this case, depending on the scam, if you also entered your security key into the fake website.

If you did happen to fall for this scam, make sur to change your password immediately straight from swtor.com if you can. If you are locked out, contact support and cross your fingers.

The scam looks something like this, but of course may have different names, account, videos or titles. The scammer seems to keep making new accounts.

UPDATE: It seems to be that the voice/character in the video does not actually belong to the person scamming as far as I understand based on some messages I have received.

If you see any variation of this scam, please use the … symbol on twitch to Report Live Stream and choose the Scam option.

They will just keep making new accounts. Keep reporting any phishing scams you see :)
