The Mandalorian Armors in SWTOR

With the new Mandalorian and Grogu movie now out in theaters, I wanted to show off some of the Mandalorian-related sets in Star Wars: The Old Republic. While The Old Republic era is set 3,000 years before the Star Wars movies kick in, Mandalorians are actually really popular during this era. The actual armor set from the TV show and the movies isn’t actually in the game, but we do have a whole bunch of really cool inspired-by outfits, as well as some fan favorites that players like to put together to make their own Beskar Mandalorian armor suit. A lot of these sets are hard to get or are very expensive.

Inexpensive Set – TT-17A Hydra Armor Set

TT-17A Hydra Armor Set

The TT-17A Hydra Armor Set actually only costs 2,500 credits per piece and can be gotten very, very early in the game. To pick up this easy and inexpensive-to-get set, you’ll need to have an Imperial character that can reach the Imperial Fleet, so they just need to have finished their first planet. From there, go to the supply section and look for the adaptive vendor. This vendor sells a whole bunch of really inexpensive, good-looking sets that you can buy quite early as long as you have the credits. You can even wear the set on a Republic character; you just need to go first pick it up on your Imperial character, then send it over using your legacy bank or your mailbox. This is a really classic, Old Republic-style Mandalorian armor set and already comes with a really good color scheme – you don’t even need to dye it.

There’s going to be two ways to get the majority of the outfits that I’m going to show you next. The first is directly from the Cartel Market – most of these will be available for Cartel Coins. However, I highly recommend instead first checking out the Galactic Trade Network (the GTN) or the player-run market where you can buy things with credits. If you’re making a mix-and-match look, you can also buy individual pieces from the GTN depending on what other players have listed and their availability, instead of buying the entire set, saving you some credits. Before I show you sets based on Din Djarin – you know, the actual the Mandalorian – there’s actually a bunch of cool inspired-by sets for other characters in The Mandalorian TV show, as well as many of the other different TV shows, series, and even things like the comic books and movies.

Ahsoka’s Outfit – Expatriate’s Armor Set

Expatriate's Armor Set

The Expatriate’s Armor Set is inspired by Ahsoka’s outfit. This inspired-by set is definitely a fan favorite, especially for mixing and matching. This is a really cool set that would look really good on either a Jedi, a Sith, or you could swing it for most of your other characters because of its variety of different pieces. This is a very nicely textured set, and the open back on the chest piece, as well as the really baggy, loose pants, make it really fun for creating your own outfits.

Sabine’s Armor – Defiant Maverick Armor Set

Defiant Maverick Armor Set

The Defiant Maverick Armor Set is next up. While Sabine herself isn’t actually in the movie or the TV shows, she’s very related to the story in that she pairs up with Ahsoka in one of the other series. I wanted to show you this set specifically because it is such a cool, well-thought-out Mandalorian set, and it also dyes really, really nicely. So if you wanted to make your own kind of custom Mandalorian set, this might be a really fun set to start with because of the way that it dyes.

#7 Forgemaster Armor Set + Armorsmith Helmet

Forgemaster Armor Set

The Forgemaster Armor Set is a really nice set that is inspired by – well, shockingly – the Forge Master from The Mandalorian. You can mix and match this set with another helmet, called the Armorsmith Helmet.

Armorsmith Helmet Armor Set

Bo-Katan’s Armor – Ri’kan’s Armor Set + Mandalorian Commander Helmet

The Ri’kan’s Armor Set is an incredible option to use as a base. While we don’t have an exact Bo-Katan-inspired outfit in Star Wars: The Old Republic, there are a ton of cool Mandalorian outfits that you can mix and match to kind of make your Sabine-inspired look. My favorite one that I’ve seen floating around is combining the Defiant Maverick armor set plus the Mandalorian Commander Helmet.

Ri'kan's Armor Set

The armor set is actually really cool; this is a set based on an original character from Star Wars: The Old Republic’s lore, and it actually has the Lekku for Twi’lek built in, so you can wear this helmet and look like a Twi’lek even if you aren’t one in the game. Pop a dye of your choice in there, and you’ve got something that’s actually shaped vaguely like her outfit from the TV series and movie.

Mandalorian Commander Helmet Armor Set

The Mandalorian Commander Helmet Armor Set is a standalone item – it doesn’t have a set to go with it – and though it doesn’t have Bo-Katan’s kind of signature swirlies on it, you can definitely tell that it is inspired by her helmet design from the show.

Fan Favorite – Ruhnuk Wanderer Armor Set

Ruhnuk Wanderer Armor Set

The Ruhnuk Wanderer Armor Set is a fan favorite. While this set doesn’t have any direct ties to anything in the current Star Wars lore, it is a really, really nice-looking set that many players aspire to earn. This one is not from the Cartel Market; instead, it’s earned from the Ruhnuk reputation track and requires Legend rank to buy and wear. Ruhnuk is a high-level reputation daily area and has a whole bunch of repeatable quests that you can do over time to eventually earn rewards, like the Mudhorn mount and the Ruhnuk Wanderer armor set. Players really like this specific set for Mandalorian cosplay, because of its really cool cape, its unique chest plate shape, and a very classic-looking Mandalorian helmet.

The Mandalorian Basic Armor – Infamous Bounty Hunter Armor Set

Infamous Bounty Hunter Armor Set

The Infamous Bounty Hunter Armor Set came out around the time that the first series season came out. This armor set has a really good classic-looking helmet with a T-visor and the little rangefinder. What’s fun about this helmet is the rangefinder actually comes down and glows the color of your color crystal when you enter combat or take out your weapon. The set itself is very loosely based on the Mandalorian’s kind of less-armored look that he has at the very beginning of the series. It is not a one-to-one recreation; in general, you won’t see those in this game because it’s set so far in the past.

The Mandalorian Beskar armor – Mandalorian Nomad Armor Set

Mandalorian Nomad Armor Set

The Mandalorian Nomad Armor Set is the second direct inspired-by set, which is very clearly meant to be an inspired-by set based on Mando’s chrome Beskar armor set. This set is pretty cool because it actually has a chrome, kind of metallic dye baked into it right off the bat. You don’t even have to dye it to get that very shiny look.

Grogu

Super important question: Does Baby Yoda aka Grogu exist in Star Wars: The Old Republic? No, but there is a very fun inspired-by item called the Hover Pod, which is a pet you can get that will float alongside you. You can’t see anything in the carrier – it’s a mystery creature in there – but it’s very clearly meant to be our little friend.

I hope you enjoyed this overview of many of the very expensive Mandalorian-inspired armors in Star Wars: The Old Republic. See you in-game, and… this is the way!
