In Game Update 5.10.4 in July 2019, both Free-to-play players and Preffered players (basically, any players who are not currently subscribing) will have their credit cap raised from 200,000/350,000 credits to one million credits. This will allow F2P and Preferred players access to to buy more items than they could in the past due to their credit cap. In addition to any player-sold items on the GTN under a million credits, there are many unlocks and vendor-sold items credit-capped players can now buy.
Keep in mind that with the legacy bank, players can amass millions of credits now easily in to their legacy bank. For example, a free-to-play player could earn a million credits, deposit it in to their legacy bank, earn another million, and deposit it again. They are only limited to holding on-hand one million at a time.

Still out-of bounds
- Species Unlocks, at 1,500,000 Credits via the Legacy panel, though players maybe have a chance at finding them for under 1 million credits on the GTN from the Cartel Market. This one would be nice if it was reduced to 1 million credits to put it in range of F2P.
- Field Legacy Cargo Hold, at 2,000,000 Credits via the Legacy panel, though F2P/Preferred can still use the legacy cargo hold via Strongholds
- GTN on your ship, at 5,000,000 Credits
- Legacy Bank on your ship, at 5,000,000 Credits
- Rocket Boost, at 2,000,000 credits, the most beloved unlock, is still out of reach
- Improved mounting, at 2,000,000 credits, f2p/preferred still will not be able to “mount while running”
There’s also some items that might be available now to Preferred players that are between 350,000 credits 1 million credits, but require some of the expansions unlocked, I did not really explore these as much.
