They are also used to buy Reputation decorations, and are combined with Dark Projects to buy ships for your house’s ship hooks.

You can find a Universal Fabricator Droid in the “Crew Skills & Strongholds” section of the fleet, and one is also given to you as a decoration for completing the initial housing quest.
