The reason the voice acting for these two language is likely delated even with the SAG-AFTRA voice actor&#8217;s union resolving their strike is that German and French voice actors do not have a unified Voice Actors union, unlike the US having SAG-AFTRA. That clan&#8217;s got a very interesting, colorful past, lots of drama happening there, that obviously affects Torian. And that&#8217;s kind of the theme here of, this date is about identity, specifically Mandalorian identity and being in a clan and what it means to lead. And these are all things that Torian is going to chat with the player about while cooking and making a traditional Mandalorian dish called Tingalar, which is a very, very spicy dish. While we don\u2019t have many hints yet, we do know that there will eventually be&#8230;<\/p>\n<h3>German &amp; French Voice Acting for Galactic Threads<\/h3>\n<p>At the launch of Update 7.8, players using a French or German client will be able to play Galactic Threads with English voices, and subtitles in their native language, but German and French recordings will be coming in the future, date to be announced. The reason the voice acting for these two language is likely delated even with the SAG-AFTRA voice actor&#8217;s union resolving their strike is that German and French voice actors do not have a unified Voice Actors union, unlike the US having SAG-AFTRA. This makes any negotiation with voice actors\u00a0 complicated and per-person or per-agent, so it sounds like the developers have decided to at least get the English voice acting out rather then delaying the story even further.<\/p>\n<h3>Date Nights<\/h3>\n<p>There are about 28 romanceable companions and the developers were hoping to release more date nights in the cadence of 1-2 Companion Date nights per Galactic Seasons. They posted some updated information on the progress in late 2024.<\/p>\n<div class=\"panel panel-info forums\"><div class=\"panel-body\">\n<p>You\u2019re right, It has been a while since we initially mentioned DirectX12 (DX12)! Development has taken place for the better part of the year and it is still ongoing. We&#8217;ve also added several graphics-focused features and made other adjustments in the last year. The metallic, chrome, and pearlescent dyes, new cinematic lightning and shadows are examples of what\u2019s included in this initiative, along with some changes in 7.6 we\u2019re excited to share with you soon.<\/p>\n<p>With that work completed, the team is back to getting the engine to handle DX12 architecture changes to support object and texture types and a new shader management system. Although we do not have a large announcement to make about DX12 right now, we have been discussing putting an alpha implementation into players\u2019 hands sometime before mid next year. We will share more details closer to when we&#8217;re ready to begin that testing.<\/p>\n<p>As a reminder, DX12 sets a new technology baseline enabling us to make visual improvements over time. Similar to when we rolled out the 64-bit upgrade, changes will not be super dramatic right out the door, rather, this tech provides a solid foundation for us to build on, and we\u2019re all pretty excited to see what\u2019s possible once it\u2019s here. \u00a0-Keith<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>We got a little more info in July 2025.<\/p>\n<div class=\"panel panel-info forums\"><div class=\"panel-body\">\n<p>We now has a functioning version of the game on DX12! Our next steps are to upgrade UI technology and implement baseline shader. We intend on working toward releasing a Technical Alpha on the Public Test Server in the not too distant future. We will communicate further details on the timeline of this test when the team makes further progress. We are very excited for this upgrade to come to SWTOR!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>In November 2025, on a developer stream, the Executive Producer said we would get more info in his quarterly update letter by the end of 2025. Watch swtor.com for that.<\/p>\n<p>In February 2026, on a developer livestream for 7.8.1, the developers said we should expect an update on DirectX 12 with the Producer Letter in March 2026. They are making sure they are doing it right, but are not ready for testing yet.<\/p>\n<h3>Other<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Dye Changes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the 7.6 Developer stream in late 2024, the developers mentioned <a href=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/cartel-market-dye-sale-and-future-changes-to-dyes\/\">some changes to dyes<\/a> might be coming. We have not heard more since.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Graphic Updates<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The developer have been working on graphical updates on multiple planets. Whether this will be added or not still is unclear, now that the new GTN is up and functional.
