Players have been reporting SWTOR is not launching on Mac or only giving them a black screen. At the moment no fix, watch the devtracker<\/a> for info<\/p>\n

Adding a new known issue to the above list for the Mac launcher post Game Update 7.8.<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Players may see the game launch, however, they will get stuck on a black screen and cannot progress forward.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

    UPDATE: December 12, the developers have offered a DIY fix!<\/p>\n

    Hey everyone!<\/p>\n

    Update for today is that we have a fix! We’re working on automating this for all Mac players, but for now, you can get your client working again by deleting the file:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • \/Users\/<your username>\/Library\/Application Support\/com.broadsword.swtor\/Star Wars – The Old Republic\/swtor-precompiled\/Libraries\/Wine\/user.reg\n
        \n
      • Don’t forget to replace <your username> with the username on your device.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        After deleting, you will need to start up your client. To find the file, you can do one of the following:<\/p>\n

          \n
        • Use Shift+Command+Period to show hidden files\/directories to access the user’s Library directory<\/li>\n
        • Use Shift+Command+G to get a popup box to manually type in the directory path<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          To reiterate, we are working to get this process automated so we are continuing our investigation. I\u2019ll update this thread as I get more info. We appreciate your patience as we navigate through the Mac Launcher Open Beta.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

          UPDATE: December 16, no permanent fix but the DIY seems to continue to work. Good news, free game time!<\/p>\n

          Mac launcher update for today! And this will be the last one before the holidays. The team is still working on automating the black screen fix for the Mac launcher, but we are glad to see confirmation that the manual fix is working for players. For Subscribers who were impacted by this issue between 12\/9\/25 and 12\/12\/25, we will be adding 7 days of game time back to your accounts.. No need to contact support as it will be automatically applied.<\/p>\n
