<\/p>\nThe Crisis on Umbara is a Flashpoint in Star Wars: The Old Republic that you can run alone, with friends, or with other random players through the groupfinder.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The Alliance has unearthed the likely location of the traitor who inflamed the hostilities between the Republic and Empire on Iokath. You have followed the traitor’s trail to the planet Umbara. Find the traitor, thwart their plans, and locate the Adegan crystal stockpile.<\/em><\/p>\n Crisis on Umbara is a Flashpoint meant to be played later in the story, quite a while after your class story is completed. You can encounter it in the story part way through the War on Iokath \/ Traitor Arc storyline, replay it alone in Story mode, or play it outside of the story with a group in Story, Veteran or Master mode.<\/p>\n Use the tabs above for instructions for how to enter the flashpoint in the story line, and how to enter it in Solo (Story) mode, Veteran mode, and Master mode. The instructions are exactly the same Republic and Imperial side.<\/p>\n Story\u00a0 Instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n Requirements:<\/strong> To play the Crisis on Umbara Flashpoint in the story, and receive all the special cutscenes related to the Flashpoint in the story, you will need to be level 70+<\/strong> and be on the correct quest in the Trairor Arc quest chain. If you are below this level, you can not play the story quest or associated quest line for this Flashpoint.<\/p>\n Timeline:<\/strong> In the story, this Flashpoint takes place early on in the Traitor story arc, on the planet Odessen. It does not make much sense plot-wise to play outside of the story.<\/p>\n Bring a Friend?:<\/strong> You can NOT bring a friend of the Crisis on Umbara Flashpoint that is part of the Traitor Arc storyline UNLESS<\/strong> that friend is on the exact same step\u00a0quest<\/strong> Crisis on Umbara as part of the Traitor Arc<\/strong> on the step Complete the Crisis on Umbara Solo Flashpoint<\/em> and then run the Crisis on Umbara<\/strong> quest.<\/p>\n If they have not done the Traitor Arc storyline,<\/strong> they can join you in a group and you can follow the exact same steps together and do the Traitor Arc as long as they are level 70+ and meet the other quest requirements to start. Then you can walk into Crisis on Umbara together.<\/p>\n If they have already run the storyline or are ineligible to start the Traitor Arc,<\/strong> they will NOT be able to walk into the Flashpoint behind you to help you.<\/p>\n Why can’t I get a friend to help?<\/strong> This is because this quest is a special one-time version of the Crisis on Umbara Flashpoint – it is not the same as the [STORY], [VETERAN] or [MASTER] version you would pick up from the terminal. It is a unique fourth mode designed to be run alone and has special one-time cutscenes related to the Traitor Arc.<\/p>\n Directions to the Story Quest for Crisis on Umbara:<\/strong> Crisis on Umbara’s one-time story quest is built in to the Traitor Arc \/ War on Iokath storyline.<\/p>\n If you have not yet run through the Traitor Arc \/ War on Iokath storyline, you can start it from the glowing blue terminal on your ship.<\/strong> To start this questline, you need to have completed the fourth and fifth expansion (KOTFE and KOTET) and be at least level 70. Then you can start The Forgotten World<\/strong> (sometimes known as Iokath, and labelled the War on Iokath in the Eras tab) which will lead you through a series of quests on Iokath and eventually to the Crisis on Umbara quest, where you will speak to Theron on Odessen then run the Flashpoint.<\/p>\n \u2192 The Knights of the Fallen Empire Expansion (KOTFE) If you are on this step, you can use the Launch Mission button to get to Odessen quickly.<\/p>\n Once on Odessen, you can follow the purple markers to the elevator outside the base, and go to the Alliance Staging Room to meet with Theron.<\/p>\n The first step of the one-time Crisis on Umbara story quest will lead you to the Staging Room – just walk in the door, and ignore the other quest boxes nearby.<\/p>\n Then you can talk to Theron.<\/p>\n Once you get to the quest literally called Crisis on Umbara, after you speak to Theron, you’ll automatically be on the quest [STORY] Crisis on Umbara, where you can travel to the Flashpoint entrance and walk in – no need to use the quest terminal, as you should already be on the quest.<\/p>\n IMPORTANT!<\/strong> This is a special one-time version of the Crisis on Umbara Flashpoint – it is not the same as the [STORY], [VETERAN] or [MASTER] version you would pick up from the terminal. It is designed to be run alone and has special one-time cutscenes related to the Traitor Arc, and instead of a helper droid, you get both Theron Shan beside you and Lana Beniko as your companion (other companions are not available).<\/p>\n Story Progress:<\/strong> [STORY] Crisis on Umbara alone will not progress your storyline – it is simply the repeatable solo version. To work on the overarching story, you also need to be on the quest Crisis on Umbara as part of the Traitor Arc<\/strong> on the step Complete the Crisis on Umbara Solo Flashpoint<\/em> and then run the Crisis on Umbara<\/strong> quest.<\/p>\n Lost the quest?<\/strong> If you lost the Crisis on Umbara \/ Traitor Arc<\/strong> quest, head back to the terminal on your ship you started at to re-pick up the quest, but keep in mind this story-based introductory quest related to the Traitor Arc is one-time-per-character. If you lost the ability to walk into the Flashpoint door, or lost the quest with the word Flashpoint in it, you can pick up the\u00a0 [STORY] Flashpoint: Crisis on Umbara<\/strong> quest from the Crisis on Umbara <\/strong>outside the flashpoint’s entrance.<\/p>\n Solo (Story) Instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n You can also run this repeatable Flashpoint solo outside of the one-time story quest, at level 70+.<\/strong><\/p>\n Activity Finder:<\/strong> The FASTEST and EASIEST way to get into the Crisis on Umbara Flashpoint soo mode is with the Activity Finder. If you are level 70 or higher, click the icon of “three little people” on the bottom right of your screen which will open the Activity Finder Window.<\/p>\n Then choose the Solo tab in the Activity Finder.<\/p>\n On the solo tab, scroll down and find the listing for Crisis on Umbara on the list under Flashpoints, select it, then click the green Travel button. This will take you right into the Flashpoint!<\/p>\n Bring a Friend:<\/strong> You are allowed to bring friends along for this Flashpoint, you do not have to do it alone even though it is considered soloable. Your friends must also be level 70+<\/strong>, be in a group with you, and then you can all use the Solo Tab of the Activity Finder to get into the Flashpoint, and it will put you together no matter where in the galaxy you started from.<\/p>\n There’s really no need to walk into the Flashpoint manually, but here are the instructions.<\/p>\n Manual Entry:<\/strong> To enter this Flashpoint manually, you must go to the Crisis on Umbara’s Flashpoint entrance, which is located on the planet of Odessen, which you can fly to on your ship. The Flashpoint can be picked up from the Crisis on Umbara terminal on Odessen, which you can get to by using the elevator to in the eastern area of the Odessan outside platform (not inside the base) and taking it to the Alliance Staging Room level on the lower floor. If you don’t see the Solo version it means you are not yet eligible due to being below level 70. The solo, single-player repeatable mode will be called [STORY]<\/strong> mode from the terminal. You can then walk in the nearby door and play the Flashpoint.<\/p>\n Step 1<\/strong> – Get to Odessen, by flying there with your ship.<\/p>\n Step 2<\/strong> – Take the elevator outside the base to the Alliance Staging Room level on the lower floor. Look for Crisis on Umbara quest terminal, and choose [STORY]<\/strong> mode to start the Flashpoint.<\/p>\n Story:<\/strong> [STORY] Flashpoint: Crisis on Umbara alone will not progress your storyline – it is simply the repeatable solo version, and while it has some cutscenes, the spoilers of the story have been concealed. To work on the overarching story, you also need to be on the quest Crisis on Umbara<\/strong> on the step Complete the Crisis on Umbara Solo Flashpoint<\/em> as part of the Traitor Arc. See the Story tab for more info.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Veteran Instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n Crisis on Umbara also has a repeatable 4-player Veteran version. It is meant to be completed by a group with any type of Republic characters in it, you do not necessarily need a tank or healer to complete it. You will likely also have good luck with 2 players and 2 companions, or 3 players and 1 companion.<\/p>\n Group Finder:<\/strong> If you want to queue up and enter Crisis on Umbara in veteran mode through the group finder, you will need to be level 70-80<\/strong> and not currently on any Crisis on Umbara Flashpoint quests or it won’t show up as an option in the group finder. If you are level 70-80, click the icon of “three little people” on the bottom right of your screen which will open the Activity Finder Window. Then choose the Group tab in the Activity Finder.<\/p>\n Filter:<\/strong> If you want to specifically run Crisis on Umbara and not a random Flashpoint, make sure to choose Veteran Flashpoints, then click the Filter button the right and narrow your choices down to just Crisis on Umbara before pressing Join Queue. Joining the queue will put you in line to be matched with random players to play Crisis on Umbara with.<\/p>\n Groupfinder flashpoints do NOT<\/em> show the cutscenes. To see the cutscenes related to this Flashpoint, you must enter it manually by walking in the door.<\/p>\n Bring a Friend in the Groupfinder:<\/strong> You can queue up with a group of 2, 3, or 4 players in the group finder. If you have a full group of 4, it will bring you straight to the Flashpoint with your full group. If you have 2 or 3 players in your group, the group finder will match you with other random players until you have a full group – but you’ll always be paired with your friends who started off in your group, and will not be split up.<\/p>\n Story:<\/strong> [VETERAN] Crisis on Umbara will not progress your storyline – it is simply the repeatable group version. If you are a low level, this is the only version that will show up on the actual Flashpoint terminal in front of the entrance door – so don’t be confused and accidentally enter the group version if you are a low level, as it is not meant to be completed alone.<\/p>\n Veteran Manual Entry (Republic):<\/strong> To enter this Flashpoint manually, you must go to the Crisis on Umbara’s Flashpoint entrance, which is located on the planet of Odessen, which you can fly to on your ship, then pick up the quest from the Crisis on Umbara terminal. If you don’t see the Solo version it means you are not yet eligible due to being below level 70. The solo, single-player repeatable mode will be called [STORY]<\/strong> mode from the terminal. You can then walk in the nearby door and play the Flashpoint.<\/p>\n Bring a Friend Manually:<\/strong> Veteran Mode Flashpoints are not meant to be completed alone, though highly-skilled, highly-geared, high-level players might be able to. To bring friends along for this Veteran Flashpoint, they’ll need to pick up the Veteran Mode quest from the terminal – or you can pick up the quest and share it with them, but they’ll still need to walk in the door manually. Characters walking in the door need to be level 15+.<\/p>\n Step 1<\/strong> – Get to Odessen, by flying there with your ship.<\/p>\n Step 2<\/strong> – Take the elevator outside the base to the Alliance Staging Room level on the lower floor. Look for Crisis on Umbara quest terminal, and choose [VETERAN]<\/strong> mode\u00a0to start the Flashpoint.<\/p>\n Master Instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n Master Mode is the hardest version of Crisis on Umbara. It is meant to be completed by a high-level high-skilled group at level 80.\u00a0<\/strong>Most teams will want a Tank, Healer and two Damage characters.<\/p>\n Group Finder:<\/strong> If you want to queue up and enter Crisis on Umbara in Master Mode through the group finder, you will need to be level 80<\/strong> and not currently on any Crisis on Umbara Flashpoint quests or it won’t show up as an option in the group finder. If you are level 80, click the icon of “three little people” on the bottom right of your screen which will open the Activity Finder Window. Then choose the Group tab in the Activity Finder.<\/p>\n Filter:<\/strong> If you want to specifically run Crisis on Umbara and not a random Flashpoint, make sure to choose Master Flashpoints, then click the Filter button the right and narrow your choices down to just Crisis on Umbara before pressing Join Queue. Joining the queue will put you in line to be matched with random players to play Crisis on Umbara with.<\/p>\n Groupfinder flashpoints do NOT<\/em> show the cutscenes. Your friends all need to be level 80 too.<\/p>\n Story:<\/strong> [MASTER] Crisis on Umbara will not progress your storyline – it is simply the repeatable difficult group version.<\/p>\n Master Manual Entry:<\/strong> To enter this Flashpoint manually, you must go to the Crisis on Umbara’s Flashpoint entrance, which is located on the planet of Odessen, which you can fly to on your ship.\u00a0 If you don’t see the Solo version it means you are not yet eligible due to being below level 70. The solo, single-player repeatable mode will be called [MASTER]<\/strong> mode from the terminal. You can then walk in the nearby door and play the Flashpoint.<\/p>\n Bring a Friend Manually:<\/strong> Master Mode Flashpoints are not meant to be completed alone, and are designed for level 80 players who are comfortable with their role and class. To bring friends along for this Master Flashpoint, they’ll need to pick up the Master Mode quest from the questgiver – or you can pick up the quest and share it with them, but they’ll still need to walk in the door manually while you’re in a group. Level 70-80 characters can technically enter Master Mode flashpoints, but all the enemies are level 80, and they will die very quickly.<\/p>\n Step 1<\/strong> – Get to Odessen, by flying there with your ship.<\/p>\n Step 2<\/strong> – Take the elevator outside the base to the Alliance Staging Room level on the lower floor. Look for Crisis on Umbara quest terminal, and choose [MASTER]<\/strong> mode to start the Flashpoint.<\/p>\n This Flashpoint has three boss fights – Technician Canni and Shadow Assassin Elli-Vaa, the Vixian Mauler, the Umbaran Spider Tank and the Bonus Boss which is the Alpha Slybex .<\/p>\n In Story Mode and Veteran Mode, you can use the medpacs scattered around the bosses.\u00a0 Walk over these to heal yourself – don’t step on them if you do not need them.<\/p>\n The following boss info is mainly for story and Veteran mode – Master Mode tactics are not covered in this guide.<\/p>\n If you right-click the glowing blue cannisters, they will give you a flamethrower as a temporary ability. They are scattered throughout the Flashpoint.<\/p>\n A simple boss, kill him and his shielded turrets.<\/p>\n After the fight, right-click the glowing blue datapad.<\/p>\n Then right-click the glowing blue keyboard.<\/p>\n Then right-click the glowing green grapple circle at the top of the next train to move forward.<\/p>\n If you are having trouble, you are actually try to right-click the blue box behind the green circle.<\/p>\n The red triangle will follow you if the Assassin boss is attacking you, and it will push you back, so make sure to put your back to a wall so you don’t get knocked off.<\/p>\n When the Technician yells “My turrets will destroy you!” he summons a turret and starts fiddling with it on the ground. The turrets start small and grow in a short amount of time as he upgrades them – they go from 0 stacks to 6 stacks. Ideally, you would defeat the turrets before they are fully grown.<\/p>\n I had a rough time with this fight in the story arc on my undergeared character. If you need to, you can hide your character from the turrets for a bit in the train car’s entrance by jumping up on some crates, but they’ll still shoot your companion(s) and the bosses will still chase after you. And don’t forget the two green medpacs on the ground!<\/em><\/p>\n Master Mode:<\/strong> These bosses technically enrage if you kill one before the other, so it might be smart to kill them at the same time – but our group didn’t know that and didn’t have any major issues.<\/p>\n Unlike many other Flashpoints, the Bonus Boss for Crisis on Umbara is available in all modes, and does not have a bonus quest attached to it – you can fight the Bonus Boss just by walking over to it.<\/p>\n The bonus boss is available after the train derails and you are on the ground, vaguely at the same time as you are looking for Adegan crystals.<\/p>\n You should kill the boss and ignore the small Slybex.<\/p>\n The boss uses an ability called Strength of the Pack, which turns the smaller Slybex green, which heals them up – so there’s no point attacking them until the big boss Slybex is defeated.<\/p>\n Step out of the red triangle when you can.<\/p>\n Master Mode:<\/strong> You especially don’t want to kill the small Slybex in Master Mode, as it also makes the boss stronger for every slybex you kill.<\/p>\n Stay out of his big red triangles.<\/p>\n If you run too far away, he’ll jump on you with a big red circle.<\/p>\n After the boss, run up the traincar’s top to continue.<\/p>\n The Spider Tank has a bunch of barrels around it you can right-click to explode.<\/p>\n Stay out the big red fire rectangle and big red circle as much as you can.<\/p>\n A lot of little enemies will show up, make sure to kill them if there is too many around.<\/p>\n If you are stuck in combat after the spider tank is defeated, you may need to go right-click all the cannisters to destroy them.<\/p>\n When you are done the fight, you can right-click the glowing beacon or use the EXIT AREA button to leave.<\/p>\n Master Mode Crisis on Umbara is almost exactly the same as Veteran Mode Crisis on Umbara, except for these differences:<\/p>\n What follows are a quick gallery of images depicting specific walking routes that may save you some time by avoiding enemies during the flashpoint – certain routes will be highlited as the main “community routes”<\/strong> that you’ll probably see players in random activity-finder groups try to do – if you only practice one skip out of all of these, make it the community one!<\/strong> All of the following images are done without stealth<\/strong> or without a sleep dart\/mind maze from a stealth character, so anyone can attempt them. If you fail to slip by unnoticed or see your team has attacked the enemies – always pull back from these routes and go back to help them defeat them! These may save time if everyone does them, but nothing makes a flashpoint slower than running ahead and not helping others to get out of combat again.<\/p>\n Solo Stealth:<\/strong> If you are playing Crisis on Umbara alone and are on a Stealth character, you can skip many of the enemies – you don’t need to do these skips.<\/p>\n Skip #1 – Community Route<\/strong><\/p>\n There really isn’t much to skip while on the train, (possibly absolutely nothing to skip – any tricks would probably be harder to pull off than just fighting) and for a short bit on the way out of the wreckage. Later, the swamp opens up as you get an objective to retrieve a half dozen fuel canisters around the wreckage. I won’t draw a manual path through the mob here as it’s pretty densely packed with easy-to-fight mobs and plenty of groups split up and fight in random directions anyway – but as a helpful tip, you can skip a boss by just not foraging for canisters at the southern tip – thats where the big Slybex lives. It comes with two buddies that enrage it twice as they die, and takes longer to fight than most flashpoint bosses. You do get an achievement, but for timesaving, there’s plenty of canisters elsewhere. (This is marked as a community route because I’ve personally never seen a group pull this boss on purpose before.)<\/p>\n Skip #2<\/strong><\/p>\n After you’ve climbed up the wrecked train car you can skip a group of hostile creatures by running along the cliff edge here for a short while. It’s really only worth trying to skip the mantorrs – the cliff gets harder to stay on further down and you’ll end up pulling the banshee pack anyway.<\/p>\n Skip #3<\/strong><\/p>\n After that banshee pack though, you can slip by the next mantorr pack by running behind the foliage to the left. There’s a group of soldiers fighting wildlife here that you’ll need to defeat, then you’ll get the objective to “Find something to bypass the wreckage”.<\/p>\n Skip #4<\/strong><\/p>\n With the new objective do a 180-degree turn and you’ll see you can continue skipping this intersection of mantorr by just sticking left again.<\/p>\n Skip #5<\/strong><\/p>\n Once you’ve blown a hole in the wreckage with the missile launcher, there’s an unskippable Mantorr group and some banshees. There’s only one more skip across these rocks to pass the very final mixed bag of Mantorr and Skeeris before the boss arena.<\/p>\n In addition to the usual rewards of XP, credits, gear and end-game currency, Crisis on Umbara has the following rewards available.<\/p>\n Sadly, Umbara does not have a guaranteed rewards for playing the Flashpoint in solo mode, unlike many of the other solo repeatable Flashpoints. It does however have some holo decorations that drop from the various bosses in the Flashpoint.<\/p>\n Slybex Holo<\/a> Decoration – Flashpoint: Crisis on Umbara, drop, likely from the Slybex boss<\/p>\n Technician Canni Holo<\/a> – Flashpoint: Crisis on Umbara, drops from Shadow Assassin Elli-Vaa & Technician Canni in any mode, including Story<\/p>\n Umbaran Spider Tank Holo<\/a> – Flashpoint: Crisis on Umbara, drops from Umbaran Spider Tank in any mode, including Story<\/p>\nHow to Start<\/h2>\n
