Ever since reports of the Republic’s rediscovery of the Jedi Order’s birthplace, the Emperor had yearned to discover the planet’s location. Once Jedi Grand Master Satele Shan relocated the Jedi Temple from Coruscant to Tython, finding Tython became not only a crusade but an imperative. After a failed attempt by Darth Angral to destroy Tython, and with open war returning to the galaxy, the planet’s defenses were strengthened considerably. Countless infiltration attempts by agents of the Empire have failed to provide significant insight into the inner workings of the Republic’s security within the Tython system. If you fail to slip by unnoticed or see your team has attacked the enemies – always pull back from these routes and go back to help them defeat them! These may save time if everyone does them, but nothing makes a flashpoint slower than running ahead and not helping others to get out of combat again.

Solo Stealth: If you are playing Assault on Tython alone and are on a Stealth character, you can skip many of the enemies. This Flashpoint is pretty stealth-friendly – if you use your sleep ability while stealthed carefully, you can often click all three artillery points without waking up any of the enemies in the first area. You can also stealth right past all the enemies that spawn in the temple itself. There are other enemies that ignore your stealth though that you will need to fight.

Skip #1 – Advanced

For the northern artillery, you can technically jump into the river, climb up the rocks on the left, run under the left arch of the bridge and then come out the middle arch on the other side, hop up the rock-face and back onto the bridge. This skips exactly one group of enemies and honestly isn’t recommended. Jumping around the rocks probably takes longer. During this section though, keep in mind theres usually no enemies in the rivers so you can skip a lot of groups in the middle island by running near the shores.

Skip #2

Not much of a skip, but make sure you exit the island from the west tip when going for the west artillery (ideally last of the three). You fight your way across either bridge, but this river crossing on the pillar has no enemies on it.

Skip #3

When all three artillery are disabled, head to the first boss but veer waaaay left of the large group of enemies guarding the stairs up to him. By the crashed ship, climb the wreckage and hop up here and go across to the orange terminal in the distance. Fight the pack of droids in front of the terminal. It will make sense in the next skip.

Skip #4

When you’ve beaten the droids here, you can run along the railing in the image and hop up into the boss arena. This ensures that once he’s defeated, you just have to backtrack to the orange terminal and click it to continue on in the FP. Congrats! You only had to fight one mandatory pack instead of the big army of droids in front of him.

Skip #5 – Community Skip

After the first boss, you’ll head across a bridge and fight some enemies (it looks like you could skip them by running right of the bridge – you can’t, both groups are tied to eachother) and head onto the path to the temple. Run behind the crashed rocket and left of the ruined archway up here. Many many players will pop legacy rocket boots and hop up this little cliff edge to avoid a flesh raider ambush in the path ahead – you’ll struggle to get up if you don’t use some kind of speed boost like a mount or boots or force speed. From here on, enemy placements are pretty objective-defence focused and there isn’t much to skip.

Rewards

In addition to the usual rewards of XP, credits, gear and end-game currency, Assault on Tython has the following rewards available.

Statue of Cowled Man Decoration

The Statue of Cowled Man decoration is an automatic reward for completing the repeatable solo-friendly [STORY] mode, picked up through the Activity Finder.

But where Imperial Intelligence failed, Darth Arkous has apparently succeeded, and now Tython lays open to incursion.

The Empire on Tython (Republic-side)

Not long ago, a vengeful Sith Lord attempted to obliterate Tython–and nearly succeeded. Ever since, protecting the Jedi Order’s home from further incursion has been of paramount concern to the Republic. That an Imperial invasion force has slipped through Tython’s new, heightened security architecture points to some unsettling possibilities.

The Empire’s presence on Tython could be accounted for by flawed security design, which would make similar exploits throughout Republic space likely. And while reports from SIS show that Imperial Intelligence has been gutted, this breach could mean the Empire has rebuilt the agency–or that it still has loyal assets within the Republic. Whatever their advantage, the odds that it will persist are strong.

The Jedi Temple on Tython (Imperial-side)

The Sacking of Coruscant was arguably the greatest military win in the history of the Sith Empire. Not only did it force the Galactic Republic to desperately accept unfavorable terms in ending the Great War; it also allowed for the utter destruction of the Jedi Temple. While it was hoped that this act would crush the Jedi Order’s resolve, the relatively recent rediscovery of the Order’s homeworld of Tython presented an opportunity for the Jedi to relocate their Temple there.

Nestled among artifacts dating to the very origins of the Jedi Order, this new Jedi Temple represents an even greater symbolic objective for the Empire. From what little Imperial Intelligence had gathered on the new structure, the Jedi learned from the mistakes of Coruscant, installing powerful defenses and multilayered security measures. But for someone like Minister of Offense Darth Arkous, such hurdles only serve to make the Jedi Temple that much more appealing a target.

Assault on Tython is a Flashpoint in Star Wars: The Old Republic that you can run alone, with friends, or with other random players through the groupfinder.
