Taral V is a story-heavy Flashpoint, and is the start of an over-arching storyline that spans over multiple flashpoints and even expansions!<\/p>\n<div class=\"alert alert-info\">\n<strong>Galactic Seasons:<\/strong> If you are playing Mandalorian Raiders as a part of <a href=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/swtor-galactic-seasons-guide-and-rewards\/\">Galactic Seasons<\/a> Flashpoint Frenzy objective, don&#8217;t forget you can use the FLASHPOINT RESURGENCE queue to queue up just for this Flashpoint if you are on Republic side! Long before the Sith Empire\u2019s return from exile, this Jedi traveled to the farthest reaches of the galaxy to confront the Emperor himself. But the Jedi was defeated, and held in stasis as the Emperor attempted to purge information from the Jedi&#8217;s mind. For ages this Jedi was thought to have been dead, but now a Force ghost has revealed that not only does the long-lost Jedi live, but he is being held prisoner within the treacherous Maelstrom Nebula. Armed with this knowledge, Jedi Master Oteg assembles a group of the Republic\u2019s most elite heroes and sends them to the Imperial world of Taral V. There they will battle against the legions of Imperial soldiers, as well as deadly creatures, as they steal Imperial star charts that will lead them straight to the hidden prison.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>How to Start<\/h2>\n<p>Taral V is a Flashpoint meant to be played at almost any time during your levelling or story path on <strong>Republic-side only<\/strong>. Then after you finish that cutscene with them watching, you&#8217;ll be able to enter the Flashpoint, but your friend won&#8217;t have any quests so they can&#8217;t walk in behind you&#8230; tell them to go talk to the nearby L2-PN droid and pick up the [Start Story Mode] quest and then they will be able to enter the Flashpoint with you.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/activity-finder-button.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/activity-finder-button.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"270\" height=\"70\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>They can also use the <strong>Solo tab in the Activity Finder<\/strong> to quickly join you once you are already inside the Flashpoint as long as they are level 29+.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/icon-map.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Directions to the Republic Story Quest for Taral V:<\/strong> Taral V&#8217;s one-time story quest is started by speaking to a droid on the fleet named MP-77, at level 29 or higher. The droid questgiver will have a yellow triangle quest over its head, and is near the eastern elevator of the fleet. The Flashpoint itself is located on the fleet on the The Telos, and you need to take the eastern fleet elevator to the Interfleet Transport level, and a taxi to the The Telos. You can also quicktravel directly to the The Telos from the fleet. The flashpoint storyline is called <strong>The Jedi Prisoner<\/strong> for Republic players.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1<\/strong> &#8211; Speak to the Questgiver droid near the eastern elevator of the Republic Fleet named MP-77<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/taral-v-quest-map.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-40755\" src=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/taral-v-quest-map.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1082\" height=\"1123\" srcset=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/taral-v-quest-map.jpg 1082w, https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/taral-v-quest-map-289x300.jpg 289w, https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/taral-v-quest-map-987x1024.jpg 987w, https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/taral-v-quest-map-768x797.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1082px) 100vw, 1082px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>You can technically also start this quest by speaking to Security Officer Minik &#8211; he&#8217;s on The Telos. If you already have a version of Taral V in your quest log, for example Veteran mode or Master Mode, you&#8217;ll not automatically receive the Story version. If you do have a Veteran Mode quest, find it in your quest log and click the Abandon button. Then you can pick up the\u00a0 <strong>[STORY] Flashpoint: Taral V<\/strong>\u00a0quest from <strong>L2-P2<\/strong> outside the flashpoint&#8217;s entrance. The second reason you may not automatically get the quest is if you&#8217;ve already used the Reset All Active Flashpoints option too many times earlier today, then you just need to wait before picking up the story mode again tomorrow, but it is unlikely this is the issue.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Finally, head outside again, and go down the nearby elevator to the Hangar Deck.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/telos-hangar-deck-map.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-40759\" src=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/telos-hangar-deck-map.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"840\" height=\"817\" srcset=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/telos-hangar-deck-map.jpg 840w, https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/telos-hangar-deck-map-300x292.jpg 300w, https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/telos-hangar-deck-map-768x747.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 840px) 100vw, 840px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Taral V will be on The Telos on the Hangar Deck to the left. To work on the overarching story, you also need to be on the quest <strong>The Jedi Prisoner<\/strong> on the step <em>Complete Flashpoint: Taral V<\/em> and then run the <strong>[STORY] Flashpoint: Taral V<\/strong> quest.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/lost-quest.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lost the quest?<\/strong> If you lost the <strong>The Jedi Prisoner<\/strong>\u00a0quest, head back to the<strong> MP-77 Droid<\/strong> you started at to re-pick up the quest. Keep in mind this story-based introductory quest The Jedi Prisoner is one-time-per-character. It is meant to be completed by a group with any type of Republic characters in it, you do not necessarily need a tank or healer to complete it. If you are level 29-80, click the icon of &#8220;three little people&#8221; on the bottom right of your screen which will open the Activity Finder Window. Then choose the Group tab in the Activity Finder.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Filter:<\/strong> If you want to specifically run Taral V and not a random Flashpoint, make sure to choose Veteran Flashpoints, then click the Filter button the right and narrow your choices down to just Taral V before pressing Join Queue. You can also quicktravel directly to the The Telos from the fleet. Then you need to take the second elevator down to the Hangar Deck to find the flashpoint door. The veteran repeatable mode will be called <strong>[Start Master Mode]<\/strong> from the droid. The bosses for Taral V are Handler Gattan and his Trained Vine Cats, Captain Shivanek, Doctor Zharen, the Bonus Boss Lord Hasper, PD-44 and General Edikar the final boss.<\/p>\n<p>In story mode, and in Veteran Mode when you have multiple players you can use the medpacs scattered around the bosses. If you fail to slip by unnoticed or see your team has attacked the enemies &#8211; always pull back from these routes and go back to help them defeat them! These may save time if everyone does them, but nothing makes a flashpoint slower than running ahead and not helping others to get out of combat again.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-41302\" src=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/stealth.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"56\" height=\"56\" \/> Stealth:<\/strong> If you are playing Taral V alone and are on a Stealth character, or with a group of all stealthers, you can choose to skip many of the early enemies if you are going to speed, since they won&#8217;t detect you, just don&#8217;t stand in the fire as you run! The first enemy you actually need to fight is the second boss Captain Shivanek &#8211; have fun skipping until then. This skips one or two packs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skip #2<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/taralroute2.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sort of skip #1 continued, if you don&#8217;t get on the bridge and drive through the water you can skip all that as well. Beware of slowler players inadvertantly pulling the riverlurkers that attack the bridge after you pass. Beware the purple glowing plant on the other side of the river &#8211; you can get your mount stuck on it pretty easily. Continue sticking to the left wall for another few packs after the bridge.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skip #3<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/taralroute3.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once you get underneath the big bridge, an imperial trooper blocks your path on the left wall. Break from it and go right around the bridge&#8217;s foundation so you can thread the needle between his and the riverlurker&#8217;s aggro range.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skip #4<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/taralroute4.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>At your second crossable bridge, you can technically skip all this by tightrope-walking the edge of the waterfall, then making a jump from one rock to another around the Riverlurker but it involves some luck with where the Riverlurker is currently standing. Go around them using the river on the left and head up. On this next tier, get back onto the road and thread the needle between Riverlurkers and Skinflayers as you drive up to the first imperial outpost.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skip #6<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/taralroute6.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once inside the security outpost and you&#8217;ve defeated the unskippable door group, head to this fenced in section in the center and then run straight into the second boss to avoid fighting anything else.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skip #7<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/taralroute7.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After the 2nd boss, you can thread the needle between the next two groups again by driving by this light post, and then leaping directly onto the tread-shaped part of this truck. Hop into the scoop at the front and drive up to the rock wall on your right after this and you&#8217;ll skip the rest of the outpost!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skip #8<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/taralroute8.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On the path to the big bridge, you can thread the needle between the two hostile creatures and then hug the right wall again to sneak by the imperial trooper pack. The animals up ahead after them can sometimes aggro no matter what you do just because they&#8217;re standing in a bad spot, though. You&#8217;ll have to fight the whole bridge, too.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skip #9 &#8211; Community Skip<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/taralroute9.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After the big bridge, obviously there&#8217;s plenty of room to move up here so you can drive around to the right to avoid everything on the path. The Silver-level imperial bulwark at the gate will summon 5 more enemies but they all have extremely tiny HP pools and go down fast.
