Hidden deep within a dangerous region of space, an Imperial prison houses a legendary Jedi Master. Long before the Sith Empire\u2019s return from exile, this Jedi traveled to the farthest reaches of the galaxy to confront the Emperor himself. But the Jedi was defeated, and held in stasis as the Emperor attempted to purge information from the Jedi’s mind. For ages this Jedi was thought to have been dead, but now a Force ghost has revealed that not only does the long-lost Jedi live, but he is being held prisoner within the treacherous Maelstrom Nebula. Armed with this knowledge, Jedi Master Oteg assembles a group of the Republic\u2019s most elite heroes and sends them to the Imperial world of Taral V. There they will battle against the legions of Imperial soldiers, as well as deadly creatures, as they steal Imperial star charts that will lead them straight to the hidden prison.<\/em><\/p>\n Taral V is a Flashpoint meant to be played at almost any time during your levelling or story path on Republic-side only<\/strong>. You can encounter it in the story part way through your class story, replay it alone in Story mode, or play it outside of the story with a group in Story, Veteran or Master mode.<\/p>\n Use the tabs above for instructions for how to enter the flashpoint in the story line, and how to enter it in Solo (Story) mode, Veteran mode, and Master mode by faction.<\/p>\n Story – Republic Instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n Requirements:<\/strong> To play the Taral V Flashpoint in the story, and receive all the special cutscenes related to the Flashpoint in the story, you will need to be level 29+.\u00a0<\/strong>If you are below this level, you can not play the story quest for this Flashpoint.<\/p>\n Timeline:<\/strong> In the story, this Flashpoint takes place roughly after Balmorra on the Republic side and before Quesh – but the story is not heavily tied into the main storyline, so you can play it whenever you want, but it would be smart to play it, and its partner flashpoint, Maelstrom Prison, before you start the expansions, as its story is directly tied into the second expansion’s plot.<\/p>\n Bring a Friend:<\/strong> If you want to bring a friend along for this Flashpoint in Story Mode to do the full story line, you easily can.<\/p>\n If they have not done the Taral V storyline,<\/strong> they can join you in a group and you can follow the exact same steps together as long as they are level 29+.<\/p>\n If they have already run the storyline,<\/strong> they’ll be able to join you in the cutscenes after<\/em> talking to the first droid, by walking in the door after you on the The Telos for the Master Otegs quest. Then after you finish that cutscene with them watching, you’ll be able to enter the Flashpoint, but your friend won’t have any quests so they can’t walk in behind you… tell them to go talk to the nearby L2-PN droid and pick up the [Start Story Mode] quest and then they will be able to enter the Flashpoint with you.<\/p>\n They can also use the Solo tab in the Activity Finder<\/strong> to quickly join you once you are already inside the Flashpoint as long as they are level 29+.<\/p>\n Directions to the Republic Story Quest for Taral V:<\/strong> Taral V’s one-time story quest is started by speaking to a droid on the fleet named MP-77, at level 29 or higher. The droid questgiver will have a yellow triangle quest over its head, and is near the eastern elevator of the fleet. The Flashpoint itself is located on the fleet on the The Telos, and you need to take the eastern fleet elevator to the Interfleet Transport level, and a taxi to the The Telos. You can also quicktravel directly to the The Telos from the fleet. The flashpoint storyline is called The Jedi Prisoner<\/strong> for Republic players.<\/p>\n Step 1<\/strong> – Speak to the Questgiver droid near the eastern elevator of the Republic Fleet named MP-77<\/p>\n You can technically also start this quest by speaking to Security Officer Minik – he’s on The Telos. He’ll send you to the same quest.<\/em><\/p>\n Step 2<\/strong> – Get to the The Telos – either quicktravel if you have it, or…<\/p>\n .. take the Taxi to the The Telos. To get to the taxi, use the Elevator on the east side of the Republic Fleet to the Interfleet Transport level.<\/p>\n Then take the Taxi to the The Telos.<\/p>\n Step 3<\/strong> –\u00a0 Follow the quest marker for the The Jedi Prisoner quest towards the green door, and speak to Master Oteg on the The Telos in The Situation Room in the south on the map.<\/p>\n Once inside talk to Master Oteg to watch the introductory quest.<\/p>\n You’ll now automatically be on the quest [STORY] Taral V.<\/p>\n Didn’t automatically get the [STORY] Flashpoint: Taral V quest? <\/strong>If you did not automatically get the quest, the first step is to check your quest log. If you already have a version of Taral V in your quest log, for example Veteran mode or Master Mode, you’ll not automatically receive the Story version. If you do have a Veteran Mode quest, find it in your quest log and click the Abandon button. Then you can pick up the\u00a0 [STORY] Flashpoint: Taral V<\/strong>\u00a0quest from L2-P2<\/strong> outside the flashpoint’s entrance. The second reason you may not automatically get the quest is if you’ve already used the Reset All Active Flashpoints option too many times earlier today, then you just need to wait before picking up the story mode again tomorrow, but it is unlikely this is the issue.<\/em><\/p>\n Finally, head outside again, and go down the nearby elevator to the Hangar Deck.<\/p>\n Taral V will be on The Telos on the Hangar Deck to the left. Head on in the large colorful door, you don’t need to talk to the droid outside the entrance or the nearby alien.<\/p>\n If you play in Story Mode, you will also get a Combat Support Droid to help you.<\/p>\n If you lose him, you can re-summon him by left-clicking the blue symbol beside the Taral V quest.<\/p>\n If you can’t see that icon, you can also right-click the item in the Mission Items tab of your inventory.<\/p>\n After the Flashpoint, The Jedi Prisoner quest will direct you back up the elevator outside the Flashpoint to Return to Master Oteg again on The Telos’s Command Deck.<\/p>\n Story Progress:<\/strong> [STORY] Taral V alone will not progress your storyline – it is simply the repeatable solo version. To work on the overarching story, you also need to be on the quest The Jedi Prisoner<\/strong> on the step Complete Flashpoint: Taral V<\/em> and then run the [STORY] Flashpoint: Taral V<\/strong> quest.<\/p>\n Lost the quest?<\/strong> If you lost the The Jedi Prisoner<\/strong>\u00a0quest, head back to the MP-77 Droid<\/strong> you started at to re-pick up the quest. Keep in mind this story-based introductory quest The Jedi Prisoner is one-time-per-character. If you lost the ability to walk into the Flashpoint door, or lost the quest with the word Flashpoint in it, you can pick up the\u00a0 [STORY] Flashpoint: Taral V<\/strong> quest from the L2-PN Droid<\/strong> outside the flashpoint’s entrance.<\/p>\n Solo (Story) – Republic Instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n You can also run this repeatable Flashpoint solo outside of the one-time story quest, at level 29+.<\/strong><\/p>\n Activity Finder:<\/strong> The FASTEST and EASIEST way to get into the Taral V Flashpoint soo mode is with the Activity Finder. If you are level 29 or higher, click the icon of “three little people” on the bottom right of your screen which will open the Activity Finder Window.<\/p>\n Then choose the Solo tab in the Activity Finder.<\/p>\n On the solo tab, scroll down and find the listing for Taral V on the list under Flashpoints, select it, then click the green Travel button. This will take you right into the Flashpoint!<\/p>\n Bring a Friend:<\/strong> You are allowed to bring friends along for this Flashpoint, you do not have to do it alone even though it is considered soloable. Your friends must also be level 29+<\/strong>, be in a group with you, and then you can all use the Solo Tab of the Activity Finder to get into the Flashpoint, and it will put you together no matter where in the galaxy you started from.<\/p>\n There’s really no need to walk into the Flashpoint manually, but here are the instructions.<\/p>\n Manual Entry (Republic):<\/strong>\u00a0 The Taral V Flashpoint entrance is located on the fleet on the The Telos, and you need to take the eastern fleet elevator to the Interfleet Transport level, and a taxi to the The Telos. It is meant to be completed by a group with any type of Republic characters in it, you do not necessarily need a tank or healer to complete it. You will likely also have good luck with 2 players and 2 companions, or 3 players and 1 companion.<\/p>\n Group Finder:<\/strong> If you want to queue up and enter Taral V in veteran mode through the group finder, you will need to be level 29-80<\/strong> and not currently on any Taral V Flashpoint quests or it won’t show up as an option in the group finder. If you are level 29-80, click the icon of “three little people” on the bottom right of your screen which will open the Activity Finder Window. Then choose the Group tab in the Activity Finder.<\/p>\n Filter:<\/strong> If you want to specifically run Taral V and not a random Flashpoint, make sure to choose Veteran Flashpoints, then click the Filter button the right and narrow your choices down to just Taral V before pressing Join Queue. Joining the queue will put you in line to be matched with random players to play Taral V with.<\/p>\n Groupfinder flashpoints do NOT<\/em> show the cutscenes. To see the cutscenes related to this Flashpoint, you must enter it manually by walking in the door.<\/p>\n Bring a Friend in the Groupfinder:<\/strong> You can queue up with a group of 2, 3, or 4 players in the group finder. If you have a full group of 4, it will bring you straight to the Flashpoint with your full group. If you have 2 or 3 players in your group, the group finder will match you with other random players until you have a full group – but you’ll always be paired with your friends who started off in your group, and will not be split up.<\/p>\n Story:<\/strong> [VETERAN] Taral V will not progress your storyline – it is simply the repeatable group version. If you are a low level and below level 29, this is the only version that will show up on the actual Flashpoint quest giver in front of the entrance door – so don’t be confused and accidentally enter the group version if you are a low level, as it is not meant to be completed alone.<\/p>\n Veteran Manual Entry (Republic):<\/strong> To enter this Flashpoint manually in veteran mode, the\u00a0Taral V Flashpoint entrance is located on the fleet on the The Telos, and you need to take the eastern fleet elevator to the Interfleet Transport level, and a taxi to the The Telos. You can also quicktravel directly to the The Telos from the fleet. Then you need to take the second elevator down to the Hangar Deck to find the flashpoint door. The veteran repeatable mode will be called [Start Veteran Mode]<\/strong> from the droid. You can then walk in the nearby door and play the Flashpoint.<\/p>\n Bring a Friend Manually:<\/strong> Veteran Mode Flashpoints are not meant to be completed alone, though highly-skilled, highly-geared, high-level players might be able to. To bring friends along for this Veteran Flashpoint, they’ll need to pick up the Veteran Mode quest from the questgiver – or you can pick up the quest and share it with them, but they’ll still need to walk in the door manually. Characters walking in the door need to be level 15+.<\/p>\n Step 1<\/strong> – Get to the The Telos – either quicktravel if you have it, or…<\/p>\n .. take the Taxi to the The Telos. To get there, use the Elevator on the east side of the Republic Fleet to the Interfleet Transport level.<\/p>\n Then take the Taxi to the The Telos.<\/p>\n Step 2<\/strong> – Take the southern elevator on The Telos down to the Hangar Deck<\/p>\n Step 3<\/strong> – Speak to the droid questgiver L2-PN<\/p>\n And choose [Start Veteran Mode] which will be available as long as you are level 15 or higher.<\/p>\n Master – Republic Instructions<\/strong><\/p>\n Master Mode is the hardest version of Taral V. It is meant to be completed by a high-level high-skilled group at level 80.\u00a0<\/strong>Most teams will want a Tank, Healer and two Damage characters.<\/p>\n Group Finder:<\/strong> If you want to queue up and enter Taral V in Master Mode through the group finder, you will need to be level 80<\/strong> and not currently on any Taral V Flashpoint quests or it won’t show up as an option in the group finder. If you are level 80, click the icon of “three little people” on the bottom right of your screen which will open the Activity Finder Window. Then choose the Group tab in the Activity Finder.<\/p>\n Filter:<\/strong> If you want to specifically run Taral V and not a random Flashpoint, make sure to choose Master Flashpoints, then click the Filter button the right and narrow your choices down to just Taral V before pressing Join Queue. Your friends all need to be level 80 too.<\/p>\n Story:<\/strong> [MASTER] Taral V will not progress your storyline – it is simply the repeatable difficult group version.<\/p>\n Master Manual Entry (Republic):<\/strong> To enter this Flashpoint manually in master mode, the Taral V Flashpoint entrance is located on the fleet on the The Telos, and you need to take the eastern fleet elevator to the Interfleet Transport level, and a taxi to the The Telos. You can also quicktravel directly to the The Telos from the fleet. Then you need to take the second elevator down to the Hangar Deck to find the flashpoint door. The veteran repeatable mode will be called [Start Master Mode]<\/strong> from the droid. You can then walk in the nearby door and play the Flashpoint.<\/p>\n Bring a Friend Manually:<\/strong> Master Mode Flashpoints are not meant to be completed alone, and are designed for level 80 players who are comfortable with their role and class. To bring friends along for this Master Flashpoint, they’ll need to pick up the Master Mode quest from the questgiver – or you can pick up the quest and share it with them, but they’ll still need to walk in the door manually while you’re in a group. Level 50-80 characters can technically enter Master Mode flashpoints, but all the enemies are level 80, and they will die very quickly.<\/p>\n Step 1<\/strong> – Get to the The Telos – either quicktravel if you have it, or…<\/p>\n .. take the Taxi to the The Telos. To get there, use the Elevator on the east side of the Republic Fleet to the Interfleet Transport level.<\/p>\n Then take the Taxi to the The Telos.<\/p>\n Step 2<\/strong> – Take the southern elevator on The Telos down to the Hangar Deck<\/p>\n Step 3<\/strong> – Speak to the droid questgiver L2-PN<\/p>\n And choose [Start Master Mode] which will be available as long as you are level 80.<\/p>\n This Flashpoint has a bunch of boss fights, but some of them are skippable. The bosses for Taral V are Handler Gattan and his Trained Vine Cats, Captain Shivanek, Doctor Zharen, the Bonus Boss Lord Hasper, PD-44 and General Edikar the final boss.<\/p>\n In story mode, and in Veteran Mode when you have multiple players you can use the medpacs scattered around the bosses. Right-click them to heal yourself.<\/p>\n The following boss info is mainly for story and Veteran mode – Master Mode tactics are not covered in this guide.<\/p>\n This boss can be skipped by going around it. You or your group can decide if you want to fight it or not.<\/p>\n This boss can be skipped by going around it. You or your group can decide if you want to fight it or not.<\/p>\n I had a lot of problems with this boss being bugged and resetting itself. To prevent it, I had to kill all the smaller enemies that break out of the tanks over time before killing the boss, and not killing him until the tanks were all broken.<\/p>\n Jungle Infiltration, the bonus quest on Taral V, will unlock the bonus boss Lord Hasper when completed.<\/p>\n For the Jungle Beasts, you’ll need to defeat most but not all the ones you see on the first map. The Imperial Forces will be scattered everywhere. The security terminals are in the second map.<\/p>\n PD-44 the big droid is a simple fight, just stay out of his red circles if you can.<\/p>\n The Experimental Weapons Console glowing blue will only be clickable if you did the Dark Science bonus quest to Destroy 8 Imperial Research Stations – it will destroy two of his turrets, but is not necessary for the fight, so don’t worry if you didn’t do the bonus.<\/p>\n You may wish to kill General Edikar’s turrets and the small enemies that show up first. Otherwise this is a pretty simple fight with no mechanics!<\/p>\n Make sure to go upstairs to talk to Doctor Narem to finish the flashpoint. Then leave via the nearby door or the Exit Area button.<\/p>\n There are two bonus quests for Taral V each with multiple steps. Killing 20 Jungle Beasts, then 45 Imperial Forces, then slicing 10 glowing blue security terminals will unlock the Bonus Boss, and the glowing blue large Research Stations and their finale the Experimental Weapons Console are just for extra XP and credits.<\/p>\n Jungle Infiltration, the bonus quest on Taral V, will unlock the bonus boss when completed.<\/p>\n For the Jungle Beasts, you’ll need to defeat most but not all the ones you see on the first map. Stealth:<\/strong> If you are playing Taral V alone and are on a Stealth character, or with a group of all stealthers, you can choose to skip many of the early enemies if you are going to speed, since they won’t detect you, just don’t stand in the fire as you run! The first enemy you actually need to fight is the second boss Captain Shivanek – have fun skipping until then. The Imperial Mark IV Sentinel Droids have increased stealth detection and will knock you out of stealth – you must fight the bridge droids after the first boss, but you can avoid many others until you get inside the Imperial Fortress.<\/em><\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/img_68ae0b0ee9dd2.png\")
