Can&#8217;t enter your alliance base, even though you&#8217;ve completed Chapter 9? <\/strong><em>If you are currently re-playing a Chapter earlier than Chapter 9, or are currently partway through Chapter 9, you may not be able to talk to the quest giver, and he might be missing his quest marker. Press ESC on your keyboard once you have scanned the bunker to exit. Stay away from the big turrets, but run up to it and right-click it. These locked crates come from any Heroic quest at level 61 or higher, and you received some during previous steps of this quest. This will blaster the cannon into smithereens! With two players, it is more manageable, but if you plan to do it solo you will want to do a lot of preparation before ever even stepping foot into the Veteran Mode \/ Heroic version of the Star Fortress missions. &#8211; the bosses also get progressively harder, so even if you make it through the first few, the later ones are even harder. If you don&#8217;t follow the mechanics, the little enemies will keep coming forever and you will never defeat the boss. This happens when you hear EPHEMERIS say, &#8220;Neural- feedback overload. Rebooting.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Then go inside the opened cubby, and right-click the glowing blue computer. If you hear EPHEMERIS counting down 5-4-3-2-1 you weren&#8217;t fast enough getting to the computer &#8211; you can just do it again the next round. You will need to do both computers over time.<\/p>\n<p id=\"EjXANCR\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"66\" height=\"121\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-47946 \" src=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/img_6a61b3d1d020b.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t accidentally get stuck in the cubby when the countdown timer goes off or you&#8217;ll get stuck there. With two players, it is more manageable, but if you plan to do it solo you will want to do a lot of preparation before ever even stepping foot into the Veteran Mode \/ Heroic version of the Star Fortress missions.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to do the Heroic Star Fortresses, I recommend:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Level 80<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/fastest-level-80-solo-gearing-in-swtor\/\">324+ Gear<\/a> (even better if you get your 340+ <a href=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/fastest-level-80-solo-gearing-in-swtor\/\">Hyde &amp; Zeek<\/a> gear first)<\/li>\n<li>Level 50 Influence Companion<\/li>\n<li>Rank 10 Influence for all four Alliance Commanders by giving them heroic quest boxes in your Odessen base<\/li>\n<li>Familiar with <a href=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/class-guides\/\">your class&#8217;s<\/a> basic rotation, defensive abilities, interrupt, and available stuns<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Buffs<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/img_6a63058d5a64c.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Unlocking level 10 influence for all four alliance commanders will allow you to unlock EIGHT extra buffs to make you stronger during the Star Fortresses, and they really add up on the final boss. See the <a href=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/?p=35026&amp;preview=true#Buffs\">Buffs<\/a> section above for more information.<\/p>\n<h3>Bonus Quests<\/h3>\n<p>Veteran Mode Star Fortresses also have bonus quests. In Veteran Mode, this boss hits like a truck! On my fresh level 80 character who was still wearing level 75 gear with an influence level 1 companion, I got demolished in the first few seconds of the fight. You have a couple different options for making this fight easier:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Find a friend to help who has also done the matching bunker quest<\/li>\n<li>Increase your level, your gear, your companion influence level, and your skill level<\/li>\n<li>Increase your alliance specialist rank to unlock the buffs &#8211; any or all alliance specialist at rank 3 to use the network terminals, and\/or one or all specialists to rank 10 for the cache buffs<\/li>\n<li>ATTACK THE SMALL ENEMIES FIRST to clear them out<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>[HEROIC] Knights of Zakuul<\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"587\" height=\"347\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-48029 \" src=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/img_6a63c3982e3e8.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/img_6a63c3982e3e8.png 587w, https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/img_6a63c3982e3e8-300x177.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 587px) 100vw, 587px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The first half of your Veteran Star Fortress will be very similar to a story mode &#8211; but there&#8217;s a bunch of brand new stuff in the second half.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of fighting EPHEMERIS with the consoles, you&#8217;ll chat with a hologram of an Exarch and then fight two Knight of Zakuul enemies in white armor with two Skytroopers. This can be a surprisingly tough fight. Here&#8217;s some tips for this fight:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>If one of these enemies die, they stay dead! So focus on killing one at a time &#8211; you can die and come back to work on the others.<\/li>\n<li>Focus on killing the skytroopers one by one first, they are weaker.<\/li>\n<li>Stun the Knights of Zakuul when you can. If you are a stealther, after you die you can sleep them. They will drop a special item called a <strong>Photovoltaic Radiation Dampener<\/strong> which will appear as a blue icon on your temporary quickbar once you pick it up (we just called it the shield). You need to be close enough to them then right-click the glowing blue grapple hook point. This fight can be especially hard, especially when all the smaller Skytroopers come out. This fight also has very specific mechanics you need to follow or you will not be able to pass it &#8211; you don&#8217;t actually fight the Exarch directly yet!<\/p>\n<p>Start by using your blue shield ability if you have one active. This will protect you from some attacks in this room &#8211; any time it lights up, feel free to lose it again! <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">((WHERE GET MORE??))<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-48052\" src=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/advanced_generator-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"56\" height=\"56\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The boss starts of shielded with a yellow buff of 10 Photovoltaic Energy shields, and is immune to damage. The goal is to reduce his shields down to zero.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"619\" height=\"240\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-48039 \" src=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/img_6a63d2047baa0.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/img_6a63d2047baa0.png 619w, https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/img_6a63d2047baa0-300x116.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 619px) 100vw, 619px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Over time, the exarch will blast a beam of yellow light towards a skinny droid in the corner called the Photoconduction Droid, turning its nameplate from green to red and making it attackable.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"302\" height=\"369\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-48041 \" src=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/img_6a63d2358beeb.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/img_6a63d2358beeb.png 302w, https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/img_6a63d2358beeb-246x300.png 246w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 302px) 100vw, 302px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Once you kill it, you can right-click its body to loot a Capacitor.<\/p>\n<p id=\"CYXQhDJ\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"164\" height=\"242\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-48050 \" src=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/img_6a64043f6025d.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This will give you a new ability called Siphon Energy, it looks like a yellow icon on your temporary ability bar.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-48055\" src=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/emittermatrix1_wil.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"56\" height=\"56\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When you&#8217;ve picked up the capacitors from the Photovoltaic Droid, you can then select the Exarch boss and use the ability on him, which will start bringing his number of shields down until the capacitor fills up.<\/p>\n<p id=\"psodKXu\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"546\" height=\"438\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-48054 \" src=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/img_6a64063028338.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/img_6a64063028338.png 546w, https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/img_6a64063028338-300x241.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 546px) 100vw, 546px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You may need to repeat this pattern of killing the Photovoltaic Droids, looting their yellow capacitors, and draining the boss a couple times until the Exarch&#8217;s shields are down to zero. He will have a new casted ability called <strong>Absorbing Photovoltaic Energy<\/strong> with a golden yellow icon of a man raising his arms in the air.\u00a0 This happens when the Exarch&#8217;s shields are empty, and he needs to draw more energy from the Sun Reactor behind him.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-48056\" src=\"https:\/\/swtorista.com\/articles\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/abl_bhtr_meco_supercharged_reserves.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"56\" height=\"56\" \/><\/p>\n<p>While he&#8217;s distracted, you&#8217;ll want to run quickly to glowing blue computer in the back of the room and right-click it. You can also stun all enemies in this room. Do not waste any time attacking the Exarch, as he is immune to damage except for using the special ability on him to drain his shield.<\/p>\n<p>The part that was killing me the most was when the pack of Skytroopers show up out of nowhere, and all started attacking me at once. The Exarchs hit like a truck, and even with basic 324 gear, a rank 50 companion, and all of my defensives, the final boss was killing me faster than my companion could heal me.<\/p>\n<p>If you can&#8217;t get a friend to come help you, you&#8217;ll really need to do all of these:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Increase your level<\/li>\n<li>Increase your gear<\/li>\n<li>Increase your companion influence level<\/li>\n<li>Increase your skill level by learning all your abilities, defensives, movements, and interrupts<\/li>\n<li>Increase your alliance specialist rank to unlock all the buffs &#8211; all alliance specialists at rank 3 to use the network terminals,and all specialists to rank 10 for the cache buffs (unfortunately, you need to restart the Star Fortress from the beginning to actually use these if you leave to go earn them)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>TIP: Nar Shaddaa Exarch Lesin Tyn \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0There is one Exarch that\u2019s harder than the others, and that\u2019s Nar Shaddaa\u2019s. The trick is that you can only earn one piece per set, per character, per planet, so if you want to earn them all, you&#8217;d need to run Star Fortresses in four different characters, each one picking a different set type. If you missed a piece along the way, you could re-run Star Fortresses on a different character to earn it, since the pieces are legacy-bound which means any of your characters can use them once you&#8217;ve earned them. There are other sets similar to these, but the one-time quests for Heroic Star Fortresses are the only way to get the orange and gold-colored legacy-bound versions!
