Now open."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over the past few months, we launched a number of initiatives to update and improve the game and its supporting platforms. In our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swtor.com\/info\/news\/article\/20221220\">11 year anniversary blog<\/a>, it was mentioned that several iterations of our Public Test Server (PTS) had been hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). From updating the game launcher to launching the game in 64-bit with Game Update 7.2.1, we are delighted to announce the next step in our tech upgrade initiative. We are now preparing to move live servers over to AWS!<\/p>\n<p>We will be launching a test server that will be completely hosted on the cloud. The new test server, Shae Vizla, will be opening up in the APAC region April 3, 2023 and it will be available for all players to test until April 18, 2023.<\/p>\n<h2>Server Open!<\/h2>\n<p><strong>UPDATE:<\/strong> The Shae Vizla test server is now open now until April 18th! Examples of what we would like players to keep in mind:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Compared to an existing server, how is the performance?<\/li>\n<li>Any specific areas or planets where you feel the performance has lessened?<\/li>\n<li>What region\/country do you reside in?<\/li>\n<li>Provide a comparison of ping from existing servers to Shae Vizla.<\/li>\n<li>Is grouped content working properly?<\/li>\n<li>How quickly can you get into a match or Flashpoint you\u2019ve accepted?<\/li>\n<li>Is travel to any location (planet, Stronghold, Fleet, etc\u2026) hindered?<\/li>\n<li>Are there any issues with the UI such as missing assets or loss of functionality?<\/li>\n<li>Are there any issues with visuals or sounds with the cinematics?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please report anything that differs from your experience in the live servers as well!<\/p>\n<p>Special notes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Shae Vizla server will be available from\u00a0<u><strong>April 3rd and will close on April 18th.\u00a0<\/strong><\/u><\/li>\n<li>It is imperative to note that Shae Vizla is still a test server.\u00a0<u><strong>The Cartel Market will not be accessible and once the test is complete, the server will be wiped.<\/strong><\/u><\/li>\n<li>If you create a new character on this server,\u00a0<u><strong>this will take up one slot in your character\u00a0list<\/strong><\/u><\/li>\n<li>You can also copy a character over to the test server the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/forums.swtor.com\/topic\/868200-getting-started-on-the-pts\/\" rel=\"\">same way you would with PTS<\/a>:\n<ul>\n<li>Log into\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.swtor.com.\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow noopener\">http:\/\/www.swtor.com.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Click on your account name in the top right hand corner of the site.<\/li>\n<li>Click \u201cMy Account.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>In the left column, scroll down and click the link entitled \u201c<u><strong>PTS Character Copy<\/strong><\/u>.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Select the server and then the character that you wish to copy from.<\/li>\n<li>Select Destination Server<\/li>\n<li>Click the \u201cCopy Character\u201d button.<\/li>\n<li>The site will display the current status of your character copy at the top of the page. All players regardless of account type will be able to log on. And unlike the PTS, there will not be a separate download.<\/p>\n<p>In the list of live servers, Shae Vizla will be notated as [Test Server]. Simply click to log in as you would any live server.<\/p>\n<p>Players will be able to start new characters or copy a previously existing character over to the Shae Vizla test server once it opens.<\/p>\n<p>We will be opening the server on\u00a0<strong>April 3rd at 12pm CT (April 4th at 4am AEST)<\/strong>\u00a0and will be closing it on\u00a0<strong>April 18th at 10am CT (April 19th at 2am AEST)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What do we want players to test out?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We want to see if there is anything that would keep a player from experiencing their regular routine and normal play. This is still a super cool addition to the game so I will be testing it regardless of already having the mount.)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>As noted above, we will open the Shae Vizla server on\u00a0<strong>April 3rd and will close on April 18th<\/strong>. From there, we will analyze all the data and feedback received from the testing period to determine if another test phase is needed or if we will move forward with moving all of our current live servers over to AWS.
