The pale-skinned Rattataki are made for battle. Centuries of constant warfare have weeded out the weak, shaping the remainder into proud, passionate, and deadly combatants. Even entertainment for this violent species is combat; the gladiator pits of their home planet, Rattatak, are the planet\u2019s most popular amusement, well-known for being the most brutal in the galaxy. Exposed to their species\u2019 competitive culture from birth, Rattataki develop into fearsome warriors.<\/p>\n

Rattataki Classes<\/h2>\n

You can play any type of character as a Rattataki, as species are not restricted to certain Origin Stories or Combat Styles<\/strong> in Star Wars: The Old Republic.<\/p>\n

Free-to-play<\/strong> players will need to unlock Rattataki before they create a Rattataki character.<\/p>\n

Subscribers<\/strong> can automatically create a Sith Inquisitor, Bounty Hunter or Imperial Agent<\/strong> as a Rattataki while they are subscribed. Once the character is created, they do not need to remain subscribed to continue playing the created character.<\/p>\n

Unlock Option #1: <\/b>All players\u00a0can unlock Rattataki for all classes by purchasing the item\u00a0Legacy Species Unlock: Rattataki<\/b> from the Cartel Market with Cartel Coins or from the GTN with credits. The Cartel Market sells this unlock for 600 Cartel Coins, the price and availability on the GTN will change day to day and per server, but it is likely very expensive. This unlock is per-server, not account-wide, and requires that you have an existing character of any type on that server who has reached level 10 and created a Legacy.<\/p>\n

Unlock Option #2: <\/b>Subscribers and preferred players who have a Rattataki character can play a Rattataki on a Sith Inquisitor, Bounty Hunter or Imperial Agent<\/strong> and then level them to level 50, which will automatically unlock the Rattataki option for all future characters including the Sith Warrior, Trooper, Smuggler, Jedi Consular and Jedi Knight. This unlock is per-server, not account-wide.<\/p>\n

Unlock Option #3: <\/b>Subscribers can also unlock Rattataki for all Origin Stories by spending 1.5 million credits as part of the Legacy system, after they have reached level 10 (Free-to-play and Preferred can technically too, but they have their credits capped at 1 million credits). <\/td>Jedi Consular<\/td>Jedi Consulars channel the power of the Force for strength in combat and wisdom in diplomacy. Jedi Consulars always seek to grow their knowledge.

<\/td>Trooper<\/td>Troopers are the embodiment of the Republic military\u2019s highest aspirations \u2013 the most advanced fighting force in the galaxy.
\n<\/td>		While seeing a Rattataki soldier would not be common, it wouldn't be unheard of either. A Rattataki who grew up on Rattatak or in the gladiatorial traditions of the Rattataki would make a fierce fighter.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>Smuggler<\/td>Above all else, Smugglers make their own destinies. Smugglers require fast reflexes, fast wits and a fast draw with a blaster.
\n<\/td>		Smugglers are beholden to no traditions, and it would not be surprising to see a Rattataki smuggler. <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>Sith Warrior<\/td>An unstoppable force of darkness, the Sith Warrior is entrusted with the task of destroying the Empire\u2019s enemies and enforcing Sith domination across the galaxy.<\/td>Shortly after the Empire returned to Republic space, the young Sith Lord Darth Vich took notice of Rattatak and its people. Eager to make a name for himself, he journeyed to the planet and, casting aside 1000 years of anti-alien tradition, recruited a hundred tribes of Rattataki to populate his own personal army. Their prowess in battle made them a dangerous force, and the dozens of Force Sensitive among them became his personal acolytes. With the Rattataki at his command, Darth Vich made a play for power in the Sith Empire that ultimately failed. In the wake of this failure, the Dark Council enslaved or killed all of Rattataki who followed Vich. Rumors about a small group of Rattataki acolytes who helped betray Vich and were fully accepted for Sith training remain unsubstantiated.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

<\/td>Bounty Hunter<\/td>It\u2019s never a question if a Bounty Hunter will find you\u2026 only when. Both infamous and anonymous at the same time, Bounty Hunters are far more than mercenaries for hire.<\/td>Bounty Hunters carve their own paths, and it would not be surprising to see a Rattataki Bounty Hunter. The opening of the galaxy to the Rattataki led to adventurous individuals to settle on other worlds, becoming sought after mercenaries, bodyguards and bounty hunters.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>Imperial Agent<\/td>Imperial Agents must master the arts of infiltration, seduction and assassination to carry out the most dangerous and sensitive Imperial assignments.<\/td>While it is uncommon to see an alien in the ranks of Imperial Intelligence, the Minister of Intelligence recognizes the need to take advantage of 'an alien mind'. A prominent Sith named Darth Malgus has seized the opportunity to create a new Empire, one that embraces alien cultures and is strengthened by diversity.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n

Appearance<\/h2>\n

Rattataki are very pale with no pigment in their skin, do not have hair, and often have tattoos or jewelry.<\/p>\n

Born and bred in a culture of war, Rattataki tattoo harsh, deep black symbols across their white skin and never walk away from a fight.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

Unlike Mirialans and Zabraks, there is very little lore related to the meaning of a Rattataki’s tattoos. The only thing they have in common is that they always seem to be a dark purple or black color, standing out in stark contrast against their chalk-white skin.<\/p>\n

In addition to Tattoos, in the “Complexion” slider, Rattataki also have some special tattoo-like complexions that other species do not have. You can layer them together with the Tattoo slider.<\/p>\n

Jewelry<\/h3>\n

Much like the Sith Purebloods who can add jewelry to their characters, Rattataki can as well but there is no lore that describes its meaning or history. Rattataki jewelry in the character creator features piercings, nose rings, triangles, and beaded chains, all in a silver metal.<\/p>\n

Dark-Side<\/h3>\n

As Rattataki fall to the dark side, they have the option to turn on Dark Side Corruption<\/strong>, where their eyes turn yellow then orange and their veins become dark and more prominent.<\/p>\n

Rattataki Naming<\/h2>\n

You can choose any name you want for your Rattataki character, you do not have to try and follow any type of conventions, as Rattataki have spread far and wide across the galaxy, with some being given a traditional Rattataki name, while others have been given a name traditional to their home planet, and others take on a code name or nick name.<\/p>\n

Unlike some other species, Rattataki do not seem to have any rules or suggestions when it comes to naming. Some take both first and last names, while others stick to a single name. There’s really only one well-known Rattataki name, and that’s Kaliyo Djannis.<\/strong><\/p>\n
